Time went by smoothly, and so in the blink of an eye, two years had gone by since Lance returned to the monster kaingdom.

As it had been quite the amount of time, Aelyndra had also began planning her journey through the world to visit different places and learn their magic. It was her major motivation for leaving the Sacred Dragon Realm after all, so it was about time she began.

While everyone was mostly happy and satisfied over at the monster kingdom, the skies above the powerful kingdoms of the other races were not the same. The skies themselves seemed to reflect the brewing unrest below.

In the opulent halls of a human kingdom, several rulers were gathered to discuss something important.

"This is no longer a matter of tolerance," one declared, his sharp voice cutting through the murmurs.

"Heh, the so called monster kingdom grows stronger every day. They've united races that have never cooperated before under one banner. They'll soon surpass even the greatest of our kingdoms in terms of military. By then, is there still anything we can use as an excuse?"

"Not if we act first."

Sighing, the king of a dwarven kingdom spoke in an almost grave tone. "Lance and his goblin kingdom have done the unthinkable. I can't believe they've taken in demons. The same creatures who laid waste to our lands in the last war."

Another shook his head. "We should have dealt with him when he first started gathering power. Now he's a thorn too deep to pull out without spilling blood."

"Aye," another chieftain growled. "If we let him continue unchecked, he'll turn the balance of power on its head. Goblins ruling the world? Over my dead body."

Thrandar held up a hand, silencing the growing uproar. "We'll not rush into war," he said. "Not yet. News is that he is favoured by the Godking, so, it will be unwise."

"Which is why we need precision, of course." Aldren said, his tone sharp. "Even though the Godking never interferes with things outside, he is unpredictable. In that sense, why don't we send the champions, those blessed by the gods themselves. They will confront Lance directly, subdue him, and remind his kingdom of their place. This should be an interesting enough event for them."

The room fell silent as the leaders exchanged knowing looks. The mention of the god-blessed individuals carried weight. These were the chosen warriors of several known and respected deities, individuals who embodied unparalleled strength, skill, and magical power.

"I hear the elven god-blessed is willing to engage in anything as long as the reward is good, he had long denounced the elven kingdom, so they won't take offence in his involvement."

The Dwarven king's expression darkened. "So I heard. Anyway, we've got our own champion, one blessed by the god of iron and fire. He'll cut through their defenses like molten steel through stone."

The head human king smiled faintly. "As things would be, our kingdom boasts the finest warriors, two of whom carry the blessings of the war god. Together, they are an unstoppable force. I heard they had been dissatisfied with the fact that they couldn't be part of the war against the demons. I'm sure this will excite them."

The leaders shared a collective nod.

"They are the key to curbing Lance's ambition. They will act swiftly and decisively."

"We must remind them, the gods themselves have chosen us as protectors of this world. We will not be intimidated."

A few days after the meeting, atop a secluded mountain, the four chosen representatives gathered. The atmosphere crackled with energy around them, a clear testament to the power concentrated within these vessels.

At the center stood Serena, the human ancestor's chosen warrior. Clad in golden armor that gleamed even in the dim light, she carried an air of invincibility. Her tall, muscular frame exuded confidence, and her hand rested casually on the hilt of a sword said to have been forged by the first king of men.

Beside her stood Eryndor and Grimner, the elven and dwarven god's chosen. Grimner sat on a stone bench, polishing his massive hammer. His arms, thick as tree trunks, taller than an average dwarf, his arms bearing glowing runes that pulsed with fiery light. Grimner's gruff demeanor masked a deep pride in his strength, which he considered unmatched.

The fourth member, a figure almost cloaked in shadow, stood apart from the group towards the shade. His was an enigma, his true identity obscured by the hood and flowing, dark robe he had on. The only clue to his power was the faint aura of darkness that seemed to ripple around him, unsettling the air itself.

Selena was the first to speak, her voice almost soft but stringed with authority. "This Lance, the so-called Monster King, is nothing more than an overambitious fool. This will be over quickly."

Eryndor smirked, leaning casually against a marble pillar. "Agreed. He isn't the main course, after all… I was told there was a dragon present in his kingdom. Though those creatures are remnants of the past, a dragon will provide some entertainment."

Grimner chuckled, his deep voice reverberating. "Aye, I've seen enough of these so-called 'chosen' in my time. They always think they're invincible until they're not. This Lance won't even last five minutes against us."

The hooded figure, silent until now, finally spoke, their voice low and chilling. "Underestimating him would be a mistake." The tone carried an unsettling certainty, silencing the rest for a moment.

Selena scoffed, breaking the tension. "Come now, we're the strongest beings alive, handpicked by the gods themselves. What can one man and his ragtag kingdom of monsters possibly do against us?"

"The strongest? Don't make me laugh. What would you say about the Godking then? If you are the strongest?"

"The Godking? He's strong, sure, but I doubt an encounter with him with my current strength will be fatal." Selena said with certainty.

The hooded figure scoffed, looking away. 'She has never seen him serious that is why.'

Eryndor nodded, his expression serene but condescending. "Let's not overthink this. We'll deliver the message, and if he resists, we'll put him in his place. That simple. I'm more interested in the dragon, though."

"It doesn't matter, we'll still follow the plan in the case of an unplanned event." The hooded figure said.

Waving him off, Eryndor turned to Grimner. "yeah yeah, mister cautious, we get it. Grimner," he said with a smirk, "try not to level the entire kingdom before we even speak with their leader. Your hammer isn't exactly subtle."

The dwarf snorted, hefting the glowing weapon onto his shoulder. "Subtlety's overrated. A good swing'll make 'em listen faster. Strike then talk."

Eryndor laughed before looking at Selena with a grin. "And if that doesn't work, Selena can take care of it. Her blade has a way of convincing people."

The hooded figure stayed silent, observing the others with an unreadable air around him. "This mission isn't about fighting a war," he said as he stepped out into the open air. "It's about reminding Lance of the order of things. I'm responsible for how we go about things, so you all will listen." He said, his tone more serious than usual.

"H-hey, calm down, mysterio. We're on the same side here, of course, we'll listen."

He didn't say anything as he studied Eryndor for a moment. "Very well. This is how we'll o about it."
