The Mind-Reading Mate: Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me?!-Chapter 123: The Queen’s Merciless Torture
Chapter 123: The Queen’s Merciless Torture
"Husband," Primrose said gently but firmly, holding his jaw and pulling him down. "I truly believe in you. Can you believe in my words?"
Edmund nodded slowly. "I ... I believe in my wife’s words."
Primrose’s smile was as bright as the sun, momentarily blinding him. He swallowed and said, "Wife, you ... you’re too close."
Instead of stepping back, Primrose leaned in even closer. Her floral scent mixed with his pheromones, making Edmund momentarily forget how to breathe.
He was doing his best to stay in control when Primrose whispered something that set his whole chest on fire. "Husband, I didn’t give you a welcome kiss last night. Do you want one now?"
Without a second thought, Edmund nodded. He held his breath, eyes wide open, just so he could keep looking at her. "I want it."
"Then close your eyes," she said gently. It felt too awkward to kiss someone who was staring like that.
Edmund lowered his head to match her height so she wouldn’t have to stand on tiptoes. Then he shut his eyes tightly, heart pounding.
"Husband." Primrose brought her face closer and gently kissed the corner of his lips. "Welcome home."
She gave him a second kiss on the other corner, but still avoided kissing him directly on the lips.
Edmund remained silent, his eyes still tightly closed, hoping for a third kiss.
After a moment, he finally felt his wife’s breath near his lips. He leaned forward slightly, but instead of meeting her lips, he was stopped by the palm of her hand.
"Husband, your punishment isn’t over yet," Primrose said with a sweet smile as he opened his eyes. "I’ll give you a proper kiss after one week."
Even though the resentment in Primrose’s heart had faded, she didn’t want to lift the punishment.
The misunderstanding was one thing, but the fact that he had spied on her was another.
She eventually stepped back, putting some distance between them. Edmund stood frozen in place, clearly frustrated, but chose to say nothing because he knew he deserved it.
"Let’s go back to the dining room," Primrose said, tilting her head as if she didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty.
Then she glanced down, her gaze stopping at the growing problem in his pants. "I think you need a little time to calm down. I’ll go ahead."
She didn’t quite understand how he could be that aroused when all she did was kiss him.
"You’ll come join me soon, right?" she asked.
Edmund gave a stiff nod. "I will." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
He did join her in the dining room later, but he arrived just as Primrose was nearly finished with her meal.
His face looked even more exhausted than before, and instead of eating, he just kept watching her quietly.
Primrose hid a small smile, secretly feeling pleased for teasing her husband a little.
And his suffering had only just begun.
Just like she expected, she could use the doll to mess with him without even laying a finger on him.
It had been three days since she gave him the punishment, and Edmund seemed more restless with each day that passed.
Even though he promised to close his eyes whenever she changed clothes, he didn’t keep that promise.
In fact, it was the first time Edmund had ever lied to her, so she would make sure that lie came back to bite him.
She purposely placed Bunnie on her vanity table, facing it toward her every time she changed.
"Your Majesty, why do you always put that doll there?" Marielle asked curiously.
[The doll is even blocking the mirror. Why has Her Majesty suddenly become more obsessed with it lately? Isn’t His Majesty already back?]
The King had returned, yes, but unfortunately, he had to wait a full week before he could even touch his wife.
"I just like having it there," Primrose giggled. "Isn’t it cute?"
She made sure to turn toward the doll while Marielle removed her corset and helped her into her nightgown.
"The doll is cute," Marielle said politely, choosing not to ask anything further because it didn’t seem like a big deal.
But in truth, that doll was a big deal, at least for the mighty Lycan King, who was currently suffering in his own room.
He was the one who chose to open his eyes. So now, he had to pay the price for breaking his promise.
After several days of quiet suffering, Edmund finally stopped daring to open his eyes whenever Primrose changed clothes.
On the fourth day, he couldn’t take it anymore.
"Wife," he pleaded, "could you give me a bit of mercy? How about ... let me sit next to you when we eat?"
At that moment, Edmund was seated at one end of the long table, while Primrose sat all the way at the other end.
"No," she replied shortly, not even bothering to look his way. "You only need to wait three more days, Your Majesty."
Since Primrose didn’t want their relationship to become gossip among the staff, she had asked the maids and soldiers to leave the dining room whenever they ate.
Everyone assumed that the King and Queen just wanted more private time to be intimate during meals.
Some even thought they were kissing nonstop, unable to keep their hands off each other.
But the truth was, the so-called honeymoon couple sat far apart from each other.
Forget kissing, Edmund wasn’t even allowed to hold her hand.
He let out a long, tired breath and tried to change the subject. "How’s your study with Sir Dorne, Wife?"
Instead of easing the mood, that question made Primrose frown in annoyance. "It’s fine," she replied flatly.
Then she paused and suddenly covered her face, letting out a soft sob. "No ... it’s not fine at all."
Her study sessions with Sevrin had increased a lot.
And even though she wanted to complain to Edmund about how Sevrin was torturing her with endless numbers, she held back.
She was the one who insisted on taking on the role, so she was determined to do her job properly.
Still ... whining a little couldn’t hurt, right?
"Sir Dorne gave me the actual financial reports this week, and I’ve already made two mistakes," she said, lifting her tearful eyes to him. "Husband ... is it really that hard? Or am I just too dumb?"
