Chapter 437 -258

Shen Jinghe glanced at her, “Talk about what?”

Qin Yulong gestured for him to head toward a conference room nearby.

“This isn’t the place to talk, come with me.”

“Sure,” Shen Jinghe stepped forward, striding to keep up.

Qin Yulong stood at the entrance of the conference room waiting for him. She waited until he entered before she closed the door.

Once inside, Shen Jinghe pulled out the chair closest to him and sat down.

“What do you want to talk to me about?”

Qin Yulong walked up to the table and stood still, leaning slightly as she looked towards Shen Jinghe.

“Since we’re all family, I might as well get straight to the point.”

Shen Jinghe raised his eyebrows slightly, “Of course.”

“Alright. I didn’t want to speak plainly in front of Mom and Wenyan, but now it’s just the two of us. I want to ask you, if you don’t want to clarify your relationship with Wenyan and don’t want to reveal your sibling relationship, do you have some other intention?”

???

Shen Jinhe’s gaze locked onto Qin Yulong’s eyes as he frowned.

“What do you mean by that?”

Qin Yulong, unfazed, “You even had plans to actively participate in ‘Legend of Chang’an’ and play CP with her, what are you thinking?”

“What am I thinking? I’m obviously trying to save the situation. What about you? Have you lost your mind?”

Qin Yulong did not reply, instead staring motionlessly at Shen Jinghe.

Shen Jinghe felt uncomfortable under her intense scrutiny.

“What are you looking at?”

Only then did Qin Yulong speak up, “I’m looking to see if what you’re saying is true. Let me remind you, you are siblings.”

“Qin Yulong,” Shen Jinghe sat up straight, retracting his legs from under the table, “drop your ridiculous thoughts. I can’t deny that Wenyan and I are like siblings. But, let me remind you as well!”

“Wenyan has no blood relations with any member of the Shen Family. The so-called siblings you’re referring to is just a term of endearment, nothing more. Don’t keep harping on that word. And don’t complicate things, OK?”

After Shen Jinghe finished speaking, silence settled in the conference room.

After an awkward two seconds, Shen Jinghe looked at Qin Yulong again.

“Is there anything else you want to talk about? If not, then I’ll leave first.”

Shen Jinghe then stood up to leave.

Qin Yulong shook her head as well.

“No, thank you for coming in.”

“You’re too polite, we’re family after all, and we’re indeed blood-related siblings with the same parents,”

Qin Yulong gave a slight smile.

Her emphasis on the words “real siblings” seemed to suggest she was truly a bit angry.

A bit angry, but not too much so.

Maybe she was overthinking things?

They had been living together for a long time before she returned to the Shen Family. If there had been anything between them, it probably would have happened by now.

Qin Yulong didn’t want to waste any more time and energy on such uncertain matters.

Just as she was about to leave, her phone rang.

She pressed the answer button, and Wenyan’s voice immediately came through the earpiece.

“Hello, Yulong, where did you go? I actually fell asleep and when I woke up, you weren’t in the office.”

“I’ll be right back; I just took a trip to the film department.”

“Alright.”

“Since you’re awake, let’s have dinner. What would you like to eat today?”

“Hmm… let’s go to your favorite place today. Last time, it was me who chose the restaurant.”

“OK.”

Qin Yulong quickly returned to the office.

When she got back, Wenyan had already picked up her bag and coat.

“Let’s go, just drive down. I was actually woken up by hunger,”

Qin Yulong reached out for her things and casually asked:

“Did you let your assistant know?”

“Yes, I told her to sort out her own dinner. Oh, by the way, did you see Jinghe at the film department?”

Qin Yulong paused, “I did, why, did he say something to you?”

“No, I was thinking if he’s done with his work, we might invite him to have dinner with us.”

“Then I guess he must be finished. Why don’t you call and ask him?”

Wenyan nodded, but, holding the phone, she changed her mind.

“On second thought, let’s not. With all these rumors flying around, we might get snapped and cause another backlash online. Let’s just have dinner, the two of us. After all, there will be plenty of other opportunities.”

“That’s fine. Did you bring your mask?”

“It’s in my bag.”

Meanwhile, Shen Jinghe had not yet left the company.

He had been engrossed in his phone screen, so his assistant did not dare to disturb him.

Only when his agent called to hurry him did the assistant approach him.
