"I will take care of China’s subjugation mission and... Just me and Leo will be enough." Alice confidently announced, shocking everyone.

"What do you mean you want two people to go on the subjugation mission?" There were complaints, of course. "Are you insane?"

"No, I’m clearly sane." Alice responded nonchalantly.

"China was supposed to take the coast next to Canada. Do you think the area bordering the Atlantic, the Westland, and the Arctic Ocean is a small island? It’s a large area and..."

"And I said just me and Leo will be enough." Alice cut them short, but they perceived her words as pure arrogance. She sighed. "I don’t plan on throwing my life away, so don’t think this is a suicide mission. It’s better that only I and Leo go, to avoid bringing dead weight along and having unnecessary deaths. I’m that confident in my strength, so give it a rest."

They still wouldn’t buy it, and she got annoyed.

’These old foggies. Do I still need to prove myself?’ she turned to Adolf, giving him puppy eyes so he would help her out, but Adolf was also contemplative on this issue. He knew Alice was strong, but just how strong she chose to go to such a dangerous place with her familiar. He trusted her, but he couldn’t be at ease till he was sure of how much power she wielded.

Adolf stood up to his feet, and this action shut everyone’s mouths. Alice watched him, wondering if he was going to have her back.

"I support the motion that few of the strongest should participate in this subjugation instead of a group that’s slightly less strong." He was trying to be less offensive there. "So, I would like to test out Alice’s skills to assure everyone here, as well as myself, that she would do just fine in a two-person subjugation. Mind you, this is the same Alice who entered the Calamity gate and came out unscathed after a few days. And she defeated the eclipse dragon that threatened the tear down the city, my city. So, I am sure we are all aware how skilled she is."

’Oh, right, they did say I would need to fight Noah to prove my skills. It won’t be much of a fight since it’ll be a one-sided beating by me. I don’t intend to go easy on him since I still have a grudge.’ Alice thought. ’I wonder how many hits he can take from me.’ She glanced at the top floor, where she could feel his energy waves.

He had been observing in silence.

While this was going on, Alice could hear the thoughts of a few who were extremely dissatisfied with her.

Especially Su Feng.

’You can gnash your teeth and hate at me, but you won’t be able to do anything to me since I’m stronger,’ she thought, sticking out her tongue in his direction. ’Blame yourself for being weak.’

Alice thought would be fighting Noah, until she heard the chairman’s next words.

"I will fight with Alice Reinhart and determine her level of skills myself." He announced, and everyone went stiff with shock. Alice, for one, blinked her eyes twice and exclaimed,

"Say what now?"

"That is the only way I can be at ease to send a child, the age of my grandchild, to such a dangerous place." He said, patting her head. "What do you say, Alice? Will you humor this old man to a spar?"

Alice did not expect it, but she had no reason to decline either. This was an opportunity to test out the skills of the world’s confirmed strongest. And, if he lost to her, he might decide to start training again to get stronger. The future would be in good hands with her absent. And not only that, she grinned. It would finally shut everyone up when it came to her business.

"Alright, gramps." Alice said. "You’re helping me out here, so I’ll make sure to put up a good fight." That was just her bluffing. She planned to attack first so Adolf wouldn’t think of pulling his punches against her. This was perfect.

They made their way out of there, leaving the people in the meeting hall mumbling and murmuring about what just happened in front of them.

Now, they could only watch and see the outcome. So many were curious about Alice’s true strength to begin with, so this would serve as a meal to feed their curiosity.

They were in a huge training area in the headquarters building. Their fight was going to be held there, and it would be broadcast on a screen in the meeting hall for everyone to watch.

For some, this was the chance to see Alice be put in her place for her arrogance, and for some, it was a chance to see how strong she was.

No one expected her to beat Adolf, though. But they were eager to see if she was as strong as he was.

Well, no one, except Michael.

Even Devon was worried about this fight. He knew Alice was capable but... He had never seen her full might, and if the chairman decided to be serious with this match, he didn’t know what the outcome would be.

"Alice, would you mind telling me the numbers on your system status?" Adolf asked as they stretched, getting ready to begin the fight.

He had taken off his outer coat and left only his white shirt on, rolled the sleeves up, and released the first two buttons.

"Well," Alice looked towards the side as if thinking and said, "Only if you agree to tell me yours afterwards."

He agreed to that condition immediately. He had no reason not to tell her anyway.

"Alright, it’s a deal." He was curious how much her numbers had shot up since the last time she called those abnormal numbers that were as high as his.

And she said there was room for growth as well. He knew she hadn’t been practicing or going into dungeons to increase her strength since she didn’t have a license yet, but what was this pressure he was feeling?

He could feel an abnormal source of power in front of him, coming from this little girl. Her numbers had certainly gone up, and she was definitely stronger than the last time, too. But...

... he still wanted to believe that his experience would defeat her numbers.
