The Extra Seeks Chaos-Chapter 238: Ability [End]
"Uhm... Master..."
Arin and Tessa instantly looked at the Vampire who just spoke.
The Vampire slowly pointed at Arin before continuing, "Can you please, tell this guy to go...?"
Arin completely ignored what the Vampire just said, but focused on a particular word.
"Master..." he muttered as he placed his finger on his chin in a thoughtful manner.
The Vampire had just referred to Tessa as "Master". This was proof that since Tessa was the one who summoned his soul, she was automatically his master.
Tessa glanced at the red-haired Vampire, her eyes cold.
The Vampire noticed this and instantly lowered his head.
"M... Master... D... Did I say anything wrong...?"
Tessa kept her eyes on him for a few seconds before speaking:
"Varyn. I'm your master, right?"
Varyn nodded frantically. "Of course!"
Tessa continued,
"Then the guy you're requesting for me to tell to leave... He's my master."
At this point, Varyn now understood why Tessa was staring at him like that.
He had seen Arin and Tessa together before he died, but he didn't know that he was her master.
And now, since Arin hadn't released his Blood Energy, the Vampire still didn't know that Arin was a Vampire.
He wanted to ask Tessa how it was possible for her, a Vampire Soulmancer, to have a human as her master, but he made sure to shut his mouth.
He didn't know the state he would end up in if she became angered by that question.
Even right now, he had numerous questions running through his head, but he decided that he would ask Tessa later, when everything was calm.
'For now, all I know is that I was killed by this strange guy, and my soul was stored by her, a Vampire Soulmancer, then she summoned me, and now, she's my Master,' Varyn thought.
He would ask all his questions later.
"How did you know his name?" Arin asked Tessa, noticing that she called the red-haired Vampire by his name even when he never told them his name.
Tessa averted her gaze from Varyn and faced Arin. "I just knew his name immediately I stored his soul."
Arin nodded, already guessing that that was the case.
"Alright," Tessa muttered. "We can leave the forest now."
"Sure," Arin said.
Varyn made sure to walk very close to Tessa, trying to avoid Arin. Though, unlike before, there was a look of respect in his eyes.
Anyone who could be his master's master was certainly strong, and he personally had witnessed what Arin could do. After all, he was the one who defeated most of his fellow Vampires who followed him to this village, and he also used a strange power that caused him immense pain.
They had only taken a few steps when Arin suddenly stopped walking.
Tessa also stopped walking as she stared at Arin, brows raised in confusion.
"What's the problem?" she asked.
Arin didn't reply. Instead, he looked at the ground in front of him.
Suddenly, eleven bodies appeared on the ground he was staring at, startling both Tessa and Varyn.
Varyn and Tessa recognized these bodies.
They were the bodies of the other eleven Vampires that Arin and the others killed. If one counted Varyn, that would be twelve in total... The exact amount of Vampires that came to the village.
"Wait..." Tessa muttered as she stared at the bodies. "That's true... We forgot to drop the bodies."
Arin nodded. "I also just remembered..."
Arin had originally put the bodies of the Vampires in his inventory, but because he was too focused on questioning Varyn at that time, he forgot to bring the bodies out.
Now, they could dispose of the bodies... Or maybe not.
Tessa rarely grinned, but this time, she didn't hold back.
A wide grin formed on her face as she stared at the red glowing orbs on the chests of the Vampires.
Instantly, she stretched out her right hand.
Varyn had seen Vampire Soulmancers back in the Vampire Kingdom, so immediately Tessa stretched out her hand, he instantly knew what she wanted to do.
The souls of two of the Vampires instantly shone before disappearing.
She glanced at Arin. "I stored the souls of two of the strongest Vampires among these eleven."
Arin nodded.
He remembered that she mentioned that her limit was three, and now, she had gotten that exact three: Varyn, and these two new souls.
She was still in her Vampire form, so she quickly summoned the two Vampires.
With a flash of light, they appeared. Two Vampires with black hair.
Immediately they set their eyes on Tessa, they didn't waste a single second.
They instantly knelt down on one knee and lowered their heads.
"Greetings, Master!" they both said in unison.
Tessa smiled, almost like a little child.
"Get up."
A single command, and they obeyed.
The two Vampires stood up, and when they turned, they saw the very person who killed them in the first place.
They instantly shivered, and just like Varyn did when he first got summoned, they scurried to Tessa's back, hiding behind her as if it would somehow save them from Arin.
Tessa chuckled while Arin just shook his head, ignoring them.
"So, I guess we'll have to leave these bodies here," Arin said.
Tessa nodded. "Yes. I've reached my limit already."
Arin sighed. "Alright."
To him, it would've been better if Tessa was able to store an unlimited amount of souls, and then, would only be able to summon a particular amount.
The restriction would have been put on the amount of souls she could summon, and not the amount she could store.
But well, he wasn't the creator of the Vampires, so...
As they were walking, Tessa decided to try something.
She quickly transformed back to her human form, and immediately she did that, Varyn and the other two Vampires instantly disappeared.
"This confirms it, I can only summon the souls when I'm in my Vampire form. Once I transform back to my human form, they'll disappear."
Arin took note of that. It seemed Tessa was understanding her abilities more and more.
She didn't bother to transform back to her Vampire form again. After all, they were already reaching the village.
They entered the village and began walking towards the building where their rooms were located.
"I don't feel sleepy," Tessa said. "And I know why..."
She smiled cheekily.
"Yeah," Arin said. "And about that hunger... You're controlling it better, right?"
Tessa nodded. "Yes, I just try not to think about it, and the hunger somehow fades away."
Tessa wasn't a fool. Of course, she knew that the hunger she was feeling was for blood.
'It may seem like that now, but she's not a Progenitor who can easily resist the hunger for blood for a long time,' Arin thought. 'Even though it's not now, she'll eventually give in.'
Arin made a mental note to do something about it before she would give in to the urge.
They finally reached the building and stood in front of it.
The night was already fading away, and a few hours from now, it would finally be daytime.
Tessa smiled as she glanced at Arin. "Alright, I'll see you later."
"Sure."
With that, Tessa climbed the stairs and entered her room.
After standing for a few more seconds, Arin also began climbing the stairs.
'That itch... It's back...' he thought.
"So, I guess you should get ready to have all your Blood Energy drained by that Raven..." Seraphim said.
She had returned to his head a few minutes ago and decided to remain silent even though she knew that Arin was aware.
Arin sighed. "I guess so..."
*********
"Fifth Wing..." a lady who was seated on a throne acknowledged the figure bowing in front of her.
Her face was covered by an orange-coloured veil, but that didn't do anything to block the sharpness exuding from her eyes.
She sat elegantly as she crossed her legs, raising her orange-coloured gown a bit.
The figure standing in front of her had a peculiar appearance.
He had long orange-coloured hair that was fluttering lightly. His orange-coloured eyes seemed to glow mischievously.
He wore a black robe, and orange-coloured feathers could be seen on his exposed hands.
But the most captivating thing about him?
It was his wings.
He had no wings on the right side of his back. But on the left side, there were five wide bright orange-coloured wings with feathers that looked ultra-sharp.
These five captivating wings complimented his title perfectly.
The Fifth Wing.
"Have you prepared the warriors?" the lady asked.
The Fifth Wing raised his head before nodding. "Yes, I have."
"Perfect. It's good to know that the years you've been sleeping didn't affect your quick response to orders."
She continued,
"Maybe if you carry out this mission well, I'll consider your proposal and get married to yo—"
BAM!
The door instantly opened before she could finish talking.
Arthur walked inside hastily, staring at his mother with sharp eyes.
Without wasting a single second, he instantly spoke.
"It's Alex Whiteheart... Alex Whiteheart was the one who killed me..."
