Chapter 304: Pleasant Memory

Spade approached Arren and sat in the opposite chair from the omega. Their position was the same as before but also a bit different. The place was the same, but not at the same time.

Slowly, Arren trailed the table with his fingers until he reached Spade’s hand, which he put on the table. Instantly, their fingers entangled with each other perfectly.

Arren observed it for a moment, his eyes focusing on their interlocked hands. The two were shrouded in a comfortable silence. Under the table, their feet and legs were also closed and pressing on each other.

One would wonder if there wasn’t any table between them; they had long pulled their bodies against each other. However, it seemed this little distance was still fine, as long as they could feel the warmth of each other’s bodies against theirs.

"You know, Spade..." Arren opened her mouth and spoke in a gentle tone.

"Hmm?" Spade hummed; their eyes simulatenously lifted and immediately met their gaze.

There was something else in the comfortable atmosphere. And Arren was aware of what it was. Words didn’t need to be said to be described; their actions alone revealed what it was.

"I’m a bit regretful that this garden wasn’t given the same treatment for being our love nest." Arren’s tone was serious, but he was smiling, and there was a playful nuance in what he said.

Spade also couldn’t help but smile as he kneaded Arren’s fingers, amused by his lover’s cuteness. Arren laughed and continued.

"And so I suggest..."

"Uhuh? What do you suggest?" Spade played along, as always. In a rare moment of free time, the two wanted to give it to each other.

Within this space, it was only them.

And so, Arren seemed to return to his playful and flirty demeanor. It was when everything seemed so simple. When the days were not yet embroiled in chaos.

In the meantime, the two wanted to enjoy a bit of pleasant and precious time.

Arren leaned forward, his legs slightly brushed in Spade’s legs, just enough to feel each other and not too sensual. As much as Arren was a flirt, he didn’t want to be a slave of his own desire either.

"I suggest..." Arren whispered, his lips smiling seductively. "... commemorating the love of our past lives here?"

His tone and words seemed to carry an innuendo, but Spade was aware that it was indeed the literal meaning of them.

Spade didn’t say anything and only rubbed Arren’s hand, listening to him intently.

"This place is so special... at least in the past." Arren’s smile hinted with nostalgia, and his eyes glimmered. "I don’t want to forget them. Spade, the past is also part of who we are."

This garden... Arren wanted to keep it as a memento. Some things in the past were necessary to forget, but some memories were important to them, and it was regretful to just let them be forgotten.

Spade smiled and nodded; his hand tightened, and he also leaned his face forward.

"Let’s do it." He agreed without hesitation.

Arren bit his lips; now that their faces were inches apart, he also couldn’t help but think in that direction. And of course, Spade could read his intentions just fine.

There wasn’t any small talk or permission. The two had already passed that stage. If they wanted it, they would do it. As they both knew, the other wanted it too.

As Spade’s and Arren’s lips touched, the lingering sentiments of the past seemed to envelop them. And the gentle kiss grew to a passionate one, with their tongues only slowly entangled and their lips savoring each other.

In a way, they felt each other’s heart. Every sensation and every beat of their hearts seemed to become one at that moment.

After a while, their lips parted as they panted and breathed. However, the two seemed to not yet be waking up from their stupor, and the passion from that kiss was still evident in their expressions.

Arren lifted his gaze and met Spade’s amber eyes, looking at him directly in the eye. They stared at each other without saying anything for a few seconds.

Their eyes seemed to be the ones expressing their love for each other. The deep understanding that was created over two lifetimes shone in each other’s eyes.

"Arren..." Spade called the omega’s name, his gaze giving a unique sensation in Arren’s heart.

He didn’t know, but it was overwhelming him. He felt like his heart was about to swell up, but not in a painful way but in something that he knew would bring him indescribable happiness.

The corners of Arren’s eyes subconsciously heated up.

Spade was no different from him. The waves of emotions suddenly engulfed him. It was too sudden, and Spade had not even planned this. It was as though his feelings couldn’t be suppressed anymore.

"After this is over..." Spade continued, trailing off to contain the overwhelming emotions in his heart.

Arren’s heartbeat had already been pounding so hard since earlier, and once he heard this, seeing the expression on Spade’s face, Arren almost burst into tears.

He never read any of Spade’s intentions until now.

Arren nodded; it wasn’t an answer but a way to say continue. He couldn’t say a word.

Spade holding his hand with the other caressing Arren’s cheek. He exhaled, and his eyes softened considerably.

He then whispered, filled with unconcealed passion.

"... Let’s get married, my omega."

Arren, even though he expected it, his tears still fell hard, and the emotions inside his heart poured out in an instant. He couldn’t say anything at all, and all he could do was nod his head.

Spade sucked his breath, and tears also shone in the corner of his eyes.

"I want to hear you... Arren, will you... Marry me?" Even with an obvious answer and with his heart echoing in his ears, Spade still repeated.

Arren bit his lips and swallowed; the tears freely fell from his cheeks. He couldn’t help but pinch Spade’s hand since he already knew his answer but still insisted on hearing his voice.

"Yes, Spade." Arren nodded his head, smiling through it all amidst his tears. "Let’s get married, my alpha."

This was official. Things were sudden, but it seemed under the height of emotions, and when one already set their mind to it, there didn’t need any ceremonies for it.

They also didn’t need any witnesses. Only the garden, which had been part of their past, and now with their present and the coming future together.

What they only needed was the love that went beyond time to finally realize. This time, no one could stop it.
