Chapter 137: Chapter 137: A Warning First, Direct Shootdown Second
"Isn’t the traitor you?" Lance countered sharply, "You think that committing suicide would avenge Flora?"
Celia suddenly looked up, her gaze intensely fixed on Lance.
But Lance remained indifferent, calmly returning her stare.
The two of them locked eyes, neither willing to back down, as the pressure around them dropped to a nadir.
After what seemed like an eternity, Celia finally cracked a smile.
"Forget it, you suspect me, and I suspect that the traitor is you! There’s no point in this back-and-forth." She clapped her hands, rising briskly to her feet.
"The person you met last night was the exiled elder princess Evelyn, right?"
Lance’s words abruptly halted Celia’s steps, "You really knew, it seems we both hold certain secrets."
"Indeed, indeed."
Their conversation ended on an unpleasant note, apparently without consensus, but in reality, they had both managed to probe some information from the other.
After Lance left, he drove the Guard Team’s flying vehicle aimlessly around the school, until laughter drew his attention, and he realized he had unwittingly arrived at the residential area.
Building 2277 was just ahead.
From there, one could see figures bustling about on the rooftop, and he instinctively wanted to approach but was stopped by someone in a standard military uniform.
"Sorry, this area is temporarily off-limits to air traffic; all flying vehicles must land."
"One warning, and a second infraction will result in being shot down."
Lance had ended up there without intending to and, realizing this, he left without further ado.

Atop the rooftop of Building 2277, Lin Fu stood foolishly, staring at the flying vehicle landing, too stunned to react for a long while.
Not until the vehicle’s door automatically opened and Fu Xing, tall and handsome in his military uniform, stepped out did she come back to her senses.
"What are you doing with all this stuff?"
Fu Xing glanced at the mess of metal objects scattered around, his brow slightly furrowing.
"Fu Xing, why are you here so late?" Lin Fu, freshly bathed and wearing new pajamas, happily ran up to him, only to trip over a metal frame on the ground and tumble forward.
As she was about to face-plant, Fu Xing quickly stepped forward and caught her.
Lin Fu flashed a sly smile and naturally threw herself into Fu Xing’s arms.
A hint of discomfort flashed across the man’s handsome face, and his ears silently flushed red.
"Thank you." Lin Fu’s petite, soft body nestled in his embrace, fitting together incredibly naturally, "Did you miss me? Is that why you came to see me?"
She asked with a smiling gaze.
A touch of helplessness and a fondness he wasn’t fully aware of himself crossed through Fu Xing’s eyes. He wanted to say no but looking into her eyes, he found that he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
"Stand up straight."
Fortunately, Fu Xing quickly composed himself, speaking coldly, "You’re already a reservist soldier, how come you still don’t behave like one?"
Finishing his admonishment, he mercilessly pushed her shoulders, supervising as she stood up straight.
Lin Fu cursed inwardly, but her face remained undaunted.
"Where’s Monger? Why didn’t he come?" Lin Fu looked around curiously but didn’t see Monger following.
"He’s busy, so I came personally." Fu Xing’s long fingers gently squeezed Lin Fu’s cheek, not allowing her to look around for Monger. But when his pale, calloused fingertips touched Lin Fu’s delicate, porcelain-like skin, both froze.
An inexplicable current surged between their touching skin, bringing waves of indescribable excitement and tingling.
Fu Xing coolly let go, while the usually bold Lin Fu was the one taken aback, not knowing how to react.
