The Beautiful Boss's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 64 - Not a Fool
64: Chapter 64 Not a Fool
64 -64 Not a Fool
Between choosing who to save first, Ye Tian didn’t hesitate, bullshit!
He hadn’t slept with either girl, so even if he left them behind, who could have the nerve to say anything?
Anyone willing to yap and point fingers from the sidelines, why don’t you come do it?
Ye Tian didn’t feel he owed anyone anything and didn’t need to be responsible to anyone; the one opportunity he had to grasp slipped away just like that, and he was filled with immense rage, which was thoroughly reflected in his bomb-disposal technique.
Disposing of a bomb, especially a timed one, requires you to handle it gently, but not Ye Tian.
He violently burst into the safe where Tang Su was held, and with a rough pull, tore the bomb’s cords binding her.
Next, he had to deal with a dozen colored wires wrapped around her arms, waist, thighs, and ankles.
Tang Su watched him, terrified that with too much force, he might just snap the wires leading to an immediate explosion; isn’t that how they always do it in the movies?
“Don’t be scared, I know how to be gentle,” Ye Tian said without lifting his head, taking a screwdriver from his belt and carefully began defusing the bomb.
Tang Su swallowed, having not seen Ye Tian in a month, he was still the same unpredictable guy, who could rage one moment and then become as tranquil as a monk defusing a bomb the next—freaking monster!
“Damned fool!
Not even a guiding wire left for me!
Are you playing with me?”
As Ye Tian cursed, he ejected a bullet from the gun chamber.
Placing the screwdriver on the floor, he pressed the bullet onto it and twisted forcefully, dismantling the primer cap, then poured out the gunpowder and sprinkled it all over the wires and bomb connector.
“What…
are you doing?
Isn’t it supposed to be bomb disposal?
Why are you disassembling a bullet?”
“Shut up!” Ye Tian said harshly.
He glanced at the timer—only thirty-two seconds left, “Got a lighter?”
Tang Su was startled, then nodded, “In my… you bastard!”
Before she could finish, Ye Tian reached over, accidentally groping her chest which led Tang Su to shout out loud.
Ye Tian frowned, annoyed; they were on the brink of death, and she was still mindful of other matters.
Meanwhile, Gu Yue, enveloped by the shadow of death, upon hearing the scream, let her wild imagination take over, completely disregarding the rapidly decreasing timer.
“Whoosh!” In a breath’s time, the miscellaneous wires were scorched by the gunpowder, followed by the timer numbers halting abruptly.
“Done!
Alright, get moving now, I can’t guarantee the other bomb will be as lucky.” He ripped the loose wires off of Tang Su in one go, tossing them towards Gu Yue, and then checking the time, damn!
Only fifteen seconds left!
Ye Tian didn’t pay any attention to Gu Yue, who was sobbing in pain.
If he were to remove the cloth from her mouth, she might just make a fuss.
Following the same steps—bullet, screwdriver, primer cap, gunpowder, lighter—crap!
The lighter is still with Tang Su!
“Idiot!
Here!” Ye Tian stood there dumbfounded, watching the milliseconds tick by hastily when a lighter suddenly appeared before him, courtesy of Tang Su.
“Why haven’t you left!” Ye Tian yelled, grabbing the lighter, but it was too late!
2, 1, 0…
“Boom!”
Xintiandi’s Guangcheng Building on the twelfth floor erupted into a massive flame, large bricks and glass shards falling everywhere, the scene instantly engulfed in thick smoke.
In a flash, the fire sucked back into the twelfth floor due to the enormous draft, leaving only billowing black smoke shooting skyward.
Huaizhou City had just sustained the most severe terrorist attack since the nation’s founding.
The incident finally concluded under the orders to “deploy the military” from Beiping City.
The military is a tightly knit war machine; as orders are issued, all problems seem to be swiftly resolved.
However, the most important person remains to be found.
By dusk, every corner had been searched, yet there was no sign of the Gu Family’s eldest daughter.
“How is it that this building, surrounded by hundreds of people, does not reveal her location?” Gu Canghai sat on a wooden chair, buried in reviewing documents, and inquired with a calm tone.
The company commander standing next to him was covered in cold sweat—the person they could not find was this General’s own granddaughter, a genuine and pampered heiress of the third generation!
“According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the young lady seemed to have been on the elevator…”
“What about Sergeant Zhang?”
“Ah?
Oh, Sergeant Zhang was sent to the hospital and is still there.”
Watching the Old Master who stopped speaking, the company commander fitted with a holstered gun hardly dared to take a breath; the sense of solemnity born from legions of troops struck him to the core, like a piercing cold wind.
“Mm, you may go now.
Make sure the scene is handled well and the public remains undisturbed.”
“Yes.” It wasn’t until he exited the small wooden door that the young company commander dared to wipe the sweat off his forehead.
In the height of summer’s July, his palms were drenched with cold sweat.
Meanwhile, Gu Canghai in the room finally set aside his pen, took off his reading glasses, and leaned back in the chair exhaustedly.
After a while, he picked up one of two telephones on the desk.
Each senior commander with decision-making power had a dedicated line that was operational 24 hours a day, and the phone Gu Canghai picked up was the “dead man” phone, used for private matters.
“Your daughter has met with trouble; see if you can hurry back…”
Although he held a high position, Gu Canghai did not see the point in troubling a young company commander.
Whether or not his granddaughter could be found had nothing to do with others.
Though they were responsible for the armed breach and the vanguard, everyone at the scene was born of parents and shouldn’t be mistreated just because of Gu Canghai.
The elder’s generosity and kindness prevailed in his heart, and in the end, he still made the call to his eldest son.
On one side was the weary Gu Canghai, and on the other, Tang Jiaoqian was in tears.
Although describing her as washed by tears was an exaggeration, staying cooped up inside for a whole day without stepping out was hardly a better situation.
When Old Master Gu came from the backyard to her place, the serving staff, who were at the door comforting Tang Jiaoqian with food, were startled.
But soon after, they were dismissed by a wave of Old Master Gu’s hand.
The black Tang costume he wore was personally made by Tang Jiaoqian herself; thus, he knew clearly in his heart her virtues as a housekeeper, even if he didn’t say it.
Although she might be inclined to be a bit calculating at times, it was too much to expect strictness from a woman.
“Xiaoxi, it’s me.”
Shortly after, the sound of high heels clicked from inside the house.
“Dad.”
“Mm, came to see.”
Tang Jiaoqian quickly welcomed the Old Master, who rarely left the backyard unless he was attending meetings in Beiping City, into the house, and she dabbed the tears from the corner of her eyes while pouring water.
