The Alpha's Fated Mate Is an Outcast-Chapter 51
Chapter 51: Chapter 51
Alexis’s eyes flickered rapidly.
"L-lorcan Fane?"
"Yes." Keelion stared down at her with narrowed eyes. "No one knows, except Augustus and Lyndon. Every staff that was around during that time, they aren’t around anymore. They went rogue."
There was no sort of resemblance between the two men. Then again, siblings don’t necessarily look like each other. free𝑤ebnovel.com
But if Lorcan Zarr was his brother, why was he of another pack? A leader at that?
As if Keelion knew what she was thinking, he said, "Do you know why the Red Tears pack is terrifying to other packs?"
"No." She shook her head.
"They are rogue wolves," he said, proceeding to explain, "Lorcan gathered the lots of rogue wolves roaming out there and created a pack with them. It’s impressive, I’ll give him that. They grew stronger than any other pack out there."
"Except..." Alexis raised both brows at him. "Ours..."
Glacial eyes flashed. "No one can ever be stronger than us, not as long as I’m alive."
Alexis peered hard at him and her throat bopped as she swallowed. Her grip where she held him on his knees grew tight, teeth biting into her lower lips.
Keelion cocked a brow and slowly lowered his gaze to her strangely sudden strong grip. He smirked. "What are you doing?"
She didn’t answer him as if she were in some kind of trance. "Are you really going to choose her?" she asked, in a very off tone.
Her pheromone, which he doubted she even knew she was pouring out, was quickly filling the room. And unlike when she was in heat, it was rather...potent. He’d never met an omega with potent pheromones—pheromones that change depending on the mood of the omega.
Well, this is interesting.
Keelion tilted his head, his neck tattoo rippling as he pinned her with his gaze. "Why are you staring at me like that?"
Alexis blinked her thick lashes and shook her head. "What...do you—"
"That look in your eyes." Keelion leaned in closer, grabbed her jaw, and rubbed his thumb against her chin. "Do you think you can own me?"
"O-own you...?" The more the word settled in Alexis’s head, the wider her eyes grew. She quickly backed away from him, shaking her head and rising to her feet. "That’s ridiculous. I would never think that!"
She quickly bowed apologetically, her heart pounding so loudly, that it felt as if it could leap out of her chest. Own him? The supreme alpha? If anyone heard such a thing, she could get killed for it.
Long seconds passed, and then the sound of his short low laugh resounded, prompting her to lift her head to peek at him.
The man arched his eyebrow. He was staring at her with such interest.
"You’re very strange, do you know that?"
"Huh?"
"I’ve never seen anything like you." His lips spread into a smile, that was both frightening and genuine at the same time. "You do things no one would dare do to me. You question me however you like—you touch me however you like. And now, you look at me like I belong to you."
The amusement on his face was unfading.
Alexis’s face reddened fearfully and she waved her hands defensively at him. "N-no, t-this is a misunderstanding, I would never dare do that or even think like that... Alpha, I’m—"
Every trace of amusement he held vanished and his face switched to stone cold so quickly, that the words in her throat died.
"Since when do you call me that?" His tone was equally chil. "My name is Keelion."
She swallowed.
"Say my name," he ordered. "Now."
"Keelion...?"
She met his eyes.
"Good."
His entire mood had changed. "Sit. Your dinner will be delivered in a few minutes." And he stood to his feet.
Sereia who stood next to Alexis sighed. "My oh yes..." her tone was dreamy. "He’d be such a lover."
"What are you saying?" Alexis made a face at her.
Keelion eyed her. "Who are you talking to?"
"No one." She was quick to respond, proceeding to change the subject, "Um, I do have something I wanted to ask you."
"Which is?"
"Well." Alexis scratched the back of her neck. "I was wondering if I could work outside. At something like a convenience store, because I want to get a cell so I can easily talk to my mother. I worry about her a lot."
His stare was long before he furrowed his brows. "You’re serious..."
"Yes." She nodded at him. "My staff work ends at five, then I could work after then, and come back by eight."
Keelion let out a sarcastic laugh and walked over to the table. He opened the drawer and took out what looked like a credit card. "No."
"Huh? Why?"
"The credit card is yours. Use it for whatever you want."
But Alexis wouldn’t come forward and take it from him. Instead, she refused. "I don’t want to owe you any more favors."
"Do you think you can owe me favors?" Keelion questioned calmly as he stalked toward her. "What do you think you can ever give or do for me?"
She couldn’t answer, because really, there was nothing she could actually ever do or give him. It was ridiculous. This was Keelion Fane.
"You’re right, I can’t owe you any favors, but...I want to do this myself. You already took care of my mom, and covered for me, which no one else would do. Those are enough, you don’t have to do the littlest of the things too. I can handle this one."
The more she spoke, the more irritated he grew. But she didn’t stop.
"Two hours of the night shift, that is all and I’ll be back here. I’m not going to run or anything, I think we both know that."
Blue eyes burned with pure annoyance. "You know this is dangerous, right? Alexis, If you ever dare harm yourself with whatever it is you’re trying to do," he rasped softly, high cheekbones glinting. "Not even death will save you from me."
Her breath hitched.
Long fingers wrapped gently around her throat like he was making a warning, thumb rubbing against her pulse.
A strange burst of warmth cramped her lower stomach, and she breathed out, clenching her hands.
Black pooled over the white of his eyes and he popped up a brow at her. Then he grinned, the amusement back on his face.
The sensation in her abdomen doubled and she squeezed her eyes shut, swallowing the whimper she almost let out. The feeling was worse than whatever she’d felt during her heat and it was obsessive, swirling without restraint in her guts.
"Look at you," Keelion whispered.
He took his hand off, and backed a step, eyes returning to their beautiful blue. Then he leaned towards her and handed the credit card over to her.
"The card is yours, use it."
"I don’t—"
"I’m not giving you a choice, Alexis. It’s an order." His tone was sharply harsh. "Buy the cell and always keep it with you. If you like, earn it and put it back into the card, I don’t care. The card is all yours."
He turned to have his back on her and stalked away towards the bathroom. Alexis slowly nodded to herself and her lips gradually curled into a smile.
