Chapter 117: Chapter 117

"Mom." Alexis gripped her hands. "Who did it? Please...please tell me who did it."

Eleni stared at her and slowly shook her head. She couldn’t tell her. If she did, things would be ruined the very moment she woke up. None of them would be able to persuade her to stay.

She caressed her hair and half smiled at her. "I don’t remember, honey—"

"Yes, you do! You know you do!" Alexis snapped at her. "Why are you lying to me? Why can’t you tell me who did that to you?"

"Because it will ruin things for you. Because this decision will hurt you. So please, listen to me, calm down, okay?" Eleni begged. "You will find out eventually. Not from me, but you will. So will you calm down and trust me?"

"Mom..."

"Alexis, do you trust me?" she pressed.

She slowly nodded her head. "If I don’t trust you, who else would I trust?"

"Good girl." Her mother smiled and kissed her forehead. "I need you to be strong for me. Things are going to be hard for you, very rough, but you can’t give up no matter what! Do you understand me?"

"Mom—"

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!" Eleni bit out.

Alexis rapidly nodded. She had never seen her mother this serious, at least not with her.

"Good good. I-I don’t have much time left to spend here with you, so I’m going to say—"

"No, no, you can’t leave me." She shook her head at her and gripped her arms tighter. "You can’t leave me here, Mom, please don’t do this to me again. I beg of you. Don’t leave me just yet, not right now, I need—"

"Enough, Alexis." Eleni snapped at her. "I’m not leaving you, I’ve never left you. I’m always with you and I’m watching over you, keep that in mind. Now listen very carefully to me."

She cupped her cheeks and rapidly began talking as though she were running out of time, "Those two women, you are related to them in a way you can never imagine. If there is anyone to trust, it is the both of them. They will never hurt you, their entire sole purpose is to protect you and get you where you need to be."

"Alexis, baby, listen to me, you’re special, okay? Just like I told you." Her smile grew wider and happier. "You, my dear, will become the most powerful omega to ever exist. Powerful enough that not even alphas would be able to stand at your feet. The only one who will be worthy to stand by his side and rule with him. Listen to me, you will never be below any werewolf created by the moon goddess—even among them because..."

She began to fade before her eyes.

"Mom!" Alexis rose, panicked, and began rapidly crawling after her fragment. "MOM! Wait, no, don’t do this to me, don’t leave me, I’m begging you."

"—because...a goddess is always...a goddess."

And that was it. She was gone. Nowhere to be seen. Completely out of her sight and not even her voice could be heard any longer.

"Mom!" Alexis stood to her feet and began staggering up and down, calling for her. "MOM! MOM! Please...please don’t do this to me."

She looked around her feeling as if the world was closing in on her.

"MOM!!!"

Alexis screamed so loudly out of her lungs and sat up on the bed, yes flickering back and forth. Her chest was rising and falling in heavy breathing. Where was she?

Her eyes felt heavy and so did her body.

She glanced around in confusion and realized that for some odd reason, she was no longer in the field, as if she had woken up from a dream.

She was rather in a room, a place she didn’t recognize and doubted she had ever been in or seen before.

She settled her feet on the floor and tried to get out of bed, but then a sudden pang of excruciating headache hit her and as if it was like ocean waves, whatever she seemed to have forgotten began pouring back into her head.

Augustus taking her, Kaelis helping him, those two strange women, and even Lorcan.

None of it hurt her like knowing Keelion had come here for her. He’d felt she was here, he’d come to take her back, but they still kept her away from him.

Dragging herself off the bed, she slipped her feet into the loafers she found next to the bed and began staggering to the door. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Her heart was aching. But she couldn’t even stomach crying anymore. She was tired, too tired than she could say.

Grabbing the door handle, she opened the door and walked out of the room. She made her way randomly through the house until she could suddenly hear people talking from a room that had a double large door.

Alexis approached the door and pulled one of the sides open. She stepped inside and walked further in, stopping only when she saw the large glass dining table where they were all seated, eating.

Some of them had the spoon pausing at the sight of her. Their gaze ran down the suit she was still in, her tousled hair that was all over the place with roughed-up curls.

"Alexis...." Augustus was the first to speak.

"Shut up," she said to him. "No one call my name because the only thing either of you is going to be telling me is why you did this, and that does not exclude you." She shot a look at Lorcan who rapidly blinked his eyes.

She stormed over to the table and took the head chair where she sat down and picked up a spoon to eat.

"You have...appetite?" Lorcan asked.

Alexis glared at him. If looks alone could kill, he doubted he’d still be alive. "What? I’m not supposed to have one?" she questioned.

Lorcan averted his gaze. He liked to deal with everything, but definitely not an angry woman. They scared him more than he liked to admit.

None of them could say a word but just fidgeted. They couldn’t handle it if she lost it on them. Who knew how much anger was boiling inside of her?

Alexis chewed down her food and swallowed. "So?" she asked.

Augustus parted his lips, he was going to talk, but Amora decided to speak instead.

"I’ll explain everything."

"Go ahead."

"Where should I start?"

Alexis eyed her. "Why did you take me away? Why?"
