The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter-Chapter 943: THE FINAL BATTLE (9)
Chapter 943: THE FINAL BATTLE (9)
Using Lu’s ability, Cane could sense the second pillar in the rear line of alpha Dex’s warrior. That was when he saw Zeke.
Rather than Dexter, Zeke was way more dangerous. He was literally Decratic’s right hand man and for him to actually show up here, could be mean that Decratic was nearby.
Cane could feel this was a trick, or at least he was a bait, but then if he tried to lure him toward Decratic, it was not necessary, because that creature was indeed the main target.
The black beast moved forward, faster, while Dexter and Rei were behind him. Black magic was hurled toward the beast, but Cane managed to neutralize it, which surprised Dexter, because he didn’t think the black wisp could do such thing.
He must have not yet learned about how Cane neutralized the strong shield around Winter Moon pack. Yes, the alpha couldn’t counterattack his magic, but he could avoid it just fine.
Meanwhile, Rei was still trying to get his hand on Dexter and stopped him in time. The problem was; he was not fast enough, which was very questionable...
However, in the heat of this moment, no one paid attention to that fact. Cane was trying to get to Zeke and Iris drew the sixth sword.
They were so close to get to Zeke, but this old man didn’t even budge. He stood there as if he was waiting for them to come and get him.
This was very suspicious, but the tension and the impulse were too high to ignore this great opportunity.
But, the alpha was on high alert. He was with his pregnant mate after all. He couldn’t let his impulsiveness put them in danger and he was right about this.
Because when he was very close to him and they were only a step away from getting to this man, suddenly the ground was shaking and it cracked. The fissure was so deep, as a strong poisonous miasma burst from there.
Cane used the black wisp to propel himself and avoid the fate of falling into the fissure, but he breathed the poisonous miasma enough to make his head was spinning. He was not careful enough with his approach, since he didn’t expect a poisonous miasma would appear all of sudden.
Did Dexter control it? Was that even possible?
"Cane, are you, okay?" Iris was worried. She immediately got off the beast’s back, once he took them to a safe place. She touched him and tried to purify the poisonous miasma from him, while Rei stood next to her.
The last time Cane was exposed by the poisonous miasma, he fell unconscious for days.
"Luna Iris, come with me and all of this will end." Zeke stretched out his hand to her, which reminded Iris to Rei’s offer. They had the same gesture and she hated to see that.
"Back off, Zeke." Rei narrowed his eyes dangerously.
"Long time no see, Rei." Zeke nodded politely at Rei.
Both of them were talking in Andel language.
At first, Iris was confused, but then she remembered that Zeke and Haco came from the Holy Kingdom. Haco told them that Zeke was the one, who tricked him and because of that he ended up with Lu.
Therefore, it was not surprising if Zeke and Rei knew each other. But, how far they knew about each other’s secret?
"I will leave after I take her with me." Zeke patted his son, as Dexter stood beside him. meanwhile, around fifty people came behind them. They didn’t look like they were a magic user, because the magic user on their side must have performed black magic and Iris didn’t feel it from them.
However, it didn’t mean she didn’t feel this bad feeling came from them. They were not a good news.
"You must be dreaming if you thought you can take her with you." Rei stood in front of Cane and Iris, as if he was protecting them. "She is mine."
Zeke clicked his tongue. "Does she even want to go with you?"
"Do you think I want to go with you too?" Iris used the same language as them, she was annoyed, they talked about taking her here and there. Did they really think she would go with them willingly? How stupid they were? "It will be nice if you can kill each other and give me less headache."
Cane would be snickering if he could understand what they were talking about, but the alpha was exceptionally quiet this time, yet Iris did not suspect anything, because Cane was always like that whenever he observed the situation.
Only if she knew what he was seeing right now...
Zeke tilted his head when Iris spoke, he was not offended, in fact, he was smiling at her. "It had been a while, since the last time we met each other. Unfortunately, every time we met, it would be in this chaotic situation."
"Where is Decratic?" Iris asked.
"Don’t worry. I will bring you to him. You only need to follow me," Zeke said gently. "He has been waiting for you."
"Tell him to come to see me in person."
Zeke shook his head, his voice sounded regretful. "That’s not how we did it. Currently my lord is too weak to see you in person." fгeewebnovёl.com
"In that case, he needs to bring his minion away from this place."
Once again, Zeke shook his head. There was this the second fissure on the ground between them. It separated where they were standing.
From this fissure, emerged this poisonous miasma. The red smoke filled the air and if Iris didn’t do anything about it, it would poison all the people on their side. The knights wouldn’t be able to stand it for long.
However, the red smoke from the poisonous miasma looked different in Cane’s eyes.
Once again, she saw her. At first, her figure was not clear, but right now he could see her as clear as the last time.
Leane.
She was staring at him. She was very much pregnant. Behind her was the fire. The red smoke from the poisonous miasma was burning flames in Cane’s eyes.
It burned so bright, as if it was a symbolize of Leane’s anger.
’You are with her... how could you be with her? Have you forgotten what her father had done to me? What her father had done to our child? How could you be with her? You can be with anyone, but why did you choose her?’
Leane’s voice was trembling, her hands balled into fists when she stared at Cane with so much hatred.
’You chose her. The daughter of person, who had killed me and your firstborn.’ Leane bit her lip. She placed her hand over her stomach. ’And you are happy with her. You even impregnated her. Don’t you feel any shame for yourself?’
Cane watched the flames behind Leane burned brighter, it almost felt like he was surrounded by this fire. There was no one else, except the two of them.
This amount of fire was what the lycan saw when the people burned him alive and he couldn’t fight back because of his promise to Na.
When Lu was burned, all he could see was fire. This flames that drowned him. He was surrounded by fire.
But then, Cane saw him. Mason. He was standing next to him. His hand stretched out. He wanted to touch him.
Out of instinct, Cane growled. He clawed his hand and watched how he was bleeding, but it didn’t get rid of the smile on his face. He was smiling at him mockingly.
’Do you remember how she died?’ Mason asked, nodded at Leane. ’She is screaming so pathetically. But, you are more pathetic because you couldn’t do anything.’
Cane was enraged, he was seeing red. All he wanted was to kill this man, tore his body apart and made sure that he wouldn’t be able to speak a single word anymore.
In his rage, Cane attacked Mason with the intention to kill him!
Meanwhile, behind the second fortress, where the monsters under Rei’s control guarded the gates, the fissure on the ground was getting bigger. It almost looked like a cliff had been created there. Red smoke of poisonous miasma emerged, so did the monsters.
Right now, this area filled with monsters, even these creatures fought against each other. There was no way to go through them and then survived.
Jace and the other warriors were cut off completely from Cane and Iris and they didn’t know what happened to the two of them.
The only information they could get was from Ethan, who told them that the alpha and the luna went into the second fortress.
"What should we do now?" Cezi frowned. He was trying to think of a way, but he couldn’t find any solution for this. They met with dead end.
"I am not sure." Jace stared at the distance, where they watched how the monsters kept emerging from the fissure. "If this kept going, the whole continent will be filled with monsters."
"We need to close the fissure," Ethan said. He looked like himself again when he was sure Aliana was no longer in dangerous situation.
Though a little bit weak, but Aliana had regained her consciousness now.
"Yeah, easier said than done," Lou chimed in. He crouched down, playing with three fire magic stones between his fingers. "The problem is; how?"
"You are the sorcerer here, you should have more knowledge about it," Redmond said. He crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Oh, please... I am a merchant." Lou rolled his eyes. He always preferred to be recognized as a merchant instead of a magic user.
Joel stood next to Zale, while Zephyr and Kian stared at the distance. There were only left with around three thousand warriors, eleven magic users and less than two hundred merchants, who obviously, couldn’t fight in this war.
"This is only getting worse..." Lou scratched the back of his head. "More so... I am not the only magic users here, if there is someone, who knew more about this, it must be her." He nodded at Abby.
All of them stared at Abby now Lou mentioned her name and put her in the spotlight.
"Can’t you think of a way of how to handle this, or any useful information?" Redmond asked, his voice was a little bit agitated. In his eyes, this Serafim was really useless.
Abby lowered her head in ashamed. "I don’t know." The words were so heavy. She felt like she failed once again.
"Hm? What is that?" Zale suddenly noticed something. The rain was still pouring down, but there was something not usual in the distance. A flock of something dark that came toward them.
Hearing Zale’s voice, all of the averted their attention from Abby and followed Zale’s pointed finger. There was something that came to their way.
"Crows!" Kian said. "That’s the crows!"
"At time like this?!" Zephyr growled.
It was still fresh in their mind about the attack from the crows and if in the past they could take shelter inside the pack house, in the open area like this, where they should go?
They were going to die if they stayed here, but there would be enough time for them to runaway.
"Fuck! Fuck!" Lou cursed under his breath. If they couldn’t take shelter and runaway, there was only one solution. He needed to use the shield to protect them all. "Can you put up a shield around us?!" He growled at Abby.
"I- I am not sure how long I can put it up," Abby replied honestly. She could feel her stomach was getting uncomfortable. She had pushed herself to her limit.
"Damn it!" Lou cursed again. He could put up the shield around them, but the problem was; he just got a backlash... it would be dangerous for him to strain his magic.
