Chapter 57: Chapter 57 Aren’t You Afraid of Being Banned?

No matter how much Qin Jiaxiang pleaded, Sang Ning steadfastly refused. He had no choice but to give up and wait for another opportunity in the future.

The next movie he was preparing featured a badass heroine, but there wasn’t a single actress in the industry right now who met his standards.

If Sang Ning was truly as skilled as they said, even if her acting wasn’t great, he wouldn’t mind personally coaching her.

Once the tools were ready, everyone got to work picking yellow peaches.

The male guests positioned the ladders and were responsible for picking the peaches higher up, while the female guests stayed on the ground and used clippers to pick the ones lower down.

Sang Ning slung a bamboo basket over her left arm, pressed lightly on her toes, and effortlessly climbed up the tree, sitting on a branch as she calmly picked the peaches within reach.

Qin Jiaxiang had just climbed onto the ladder and plucked a peach when he caught a glimpse of Sang Ning perched securely on a peach tree just ahead and to his left.

"Xiao Sang!" he yelled at her. "You didn’t even use the ladder—how’d you climb so high?!"

Sang Ning looked up at him and answered matter-of-factly, "With my feet."

Qin Jiaxiang stomped his foot in exaggerated frustration. "I didn’t see it! Do it again so I can watch!"

[Hahaha, doesn’t matter! We all saw it. Just tell me, Director Qin, are you mad or not?]

[Sister Sang, don’t show him! Let him stew in his jealousy.]

Sang Ning pressed her lips together, a little speechless, and ignored Qin Jiaxiang. She shifted her position and moved to the other side of the tree to continue picking peaches.

"Xiao Qin, stop dawdling! Hurry up and pick peaches!"

Qin Jiaxiang looked down and saw Grandma Song standing below the tree, urging him on. He could only respond with a quick "Got it!" and went back to picking peaches.

In the blink of an eye, Sang Ning had already picked all the peaches from the high branches and, with a light step, leapt gracefully back down to the ground.

Qin Jiaxiang glanced down again.

???

How the heck did Sang Ning float down like that? He missed it again! So frustrating!

"Where did Chu Xi and her mom go?"

After hopping down from the tree, Sang Ning bumped into Chu Wei and casually asked.

[Sister Sang, no way... Are you only now realizing your teammates have gone missing?]

[Don’t even bother asking—if they don’t want to work, are you planning to drag them back by force?]

"Mommy Chu’s blood sugar dropped; she’s not feeling well. Sister Xi is keeping her company."

Chu Wei explained as she slumped against a big tree and sat down. She’d already picked fifteen peaches—she was exhausted and needed to rest for a bit.

Low blood sugar?

Sang Ning frowned slightly. Li Sulan was as robust as an ox and rarely even caught a cold. A sudden drop in blood sugar every time it was time to work? She didn’t buy it.

Putting down her bamboo basket, Sang Ning began walking back toward the orchard’s entrance.

Chu Wei fanned herself with her hand, watching Sang Ning’s retreating figure indifferently. Was she seriously going to try dragging those two back to work? What a waste of energy.

When Sang Ning reached the orchard’s entrance, she found Li Sulan lounging on a deck chair with her eyes closed. It had been specially moved there by Director Sun’s team.

Chu Xi sat nearby, holding a glass of water and taking dainty sips, looking entirely relaxed and carefree.

"Done enjoying your little break?" Sang Ning’s voice was light and airy, devoid of any discernible emotion.

Li Sulan opened her eyes and sat up, while Chu Xi turned toward her, clearly taken aback.

[Sister Sang, you’re incredible. Do you want to get blacklisted by Mrs. Chu the second this show ends?]

[Li Sulan: Even Director Sun wouldn’t dare call me out, and you think you can?]

[Sang Ning: I’d cuss out Director Sun too, so who do you think you are?]

"What nonsense are you spouting? My blood sugar dropped! Can’t I take a break?"

Li Sulan straightened her posture elegantly and shot Sang Ning a sideways glance.

"Oh, is that so?" Sang Ning’s lips curved into a faint, ambiguous smile. "My mom occasionally has blood sugar episodes too, so I specifically learned a massage technique to help. After just one session, she’s full of energy—no soreness in her back or knees—and she can climb eight flights of stairs in one go.

"How about I try it on you?"

Although she phrased it as a question, Sang Ning didn’t give Li Sulan any chance to decline. Within seconds, she had already closed the distance with her long strides, her hand landing on Li Sulan’s shoulder.

She moved so swiftly that neither Li Sulan nor Chu Xi had time to react.

"I..."

The words "don’t need it" hadn’t even left Li Sulan’s mouth before Sang Ning began applying pressure.

An inexplicable sensation surged throughout Li Sulan’s body. It was a mix of soreness, swelling, pain, and numbness. She wanted to cry but found herself utterly incapable of even shedding a tear. It felt as though fate itself had gripped her throat tightly; she didn’t even have the strength to protest.

[What’s going on? Is Li Sulan in heaven? Why does she look like she’s enjoying herself but can’t quite explain it?]

[She’s completely silent, and now I’m curious. Sister Sang, come massage me! I want to try it too!]

Chu Xi, clearly uneasy, instinctively clenched her fists tightly, gripping her clothes.

Does Mom actually care about Sang Ning? she wondered.

She’s not even resisting, just letting her massage her. And she seems to be... enjoying it?

Judging that Li Sulan had nearly reached her physical and emotional limit, Sang Ning finally let go at a torturously slow pace.

"How about now, Mrs. Chu? Still feeling dizzy?"

Li Sulan, at long last, felt liberated. All she wanted was to fill her lungs with fresh air and couldn’t even manage to think about responding to Sang Ning.

Instead, Chu Xi was the one to speak first. "Mr. Sang, that massage technique of yours looks really unique. Could you teach me? I could use it on my mom when she needs it."

"No, absolutely not!" Li Sulan’s response was unusually sharp, her tone louder than she’d intended as she addressed Chu Xi.

Chu Xi felt a sour sting in her chest, her smile tinged with bitterness.

Noticing Chu Xi’s pained expression, Li Sulan quickly softened her tone and offered an explanation. "What I meant was, massages are tiring work. You don’t need to learn that."

Li Sulan wanted to say more but couldn’t figure out how to describe what had just happened.

Nah, better let it go. As long as Xiao Xi doesn’t try to learn that nonsense, it’s fine.

Chu Xi’s bitter smile deepened. Did her mother think she wasn’t capable of mastering Sang Ning’s special technique?

"Mrs. Chu, can you get back to work now? If you’re still dizzy, I could give you another session," Sang Ning offered, standing directly in front of Li Sulan with a mockingly saccharine smile.

"Enough already! I’ll go right now, alright? Is that good enough for you?" Li Sulan grumbled, clearly irritated, her voice rising.

[No manners, truly a modern-day ingrate. Sang Ning massages her into bliss one minute, and she turns on her the next. Disgusting!]

[Sang Ning should’ve just massaged her to death. Imagine being that shamelessly arrogant!]

"Still not good enough," Sang Ning said, crossing her arms and shaking her head slightly. Then she pointed at Li Sulan’s feet and snapped, "Change your shoes. What are you doing, walking a runway or picking peaches?"

[I’m dying here, Sister Sang. Calm down. Are you really not afraid of getting completely blacklisted by the Chu Family?]

[Li Sulan: I was just testing her, but I didn’t expect her to actually clap back this hard. Honestly didn’t see it coming.]

Li Sulan raised her head in disbelief, staring at Sang Ning.

Was Sang Ning crazy? She even had the audacity to nitpick her choice of shoes!
