Switched Life:I Went Viral on a Family Variety Show-Chapter 125: Sleeping in My Sister’s Bed
Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Sleeping in My Sister’s Bed
Sang Ning had no idea why Shen Yi was apologizing out of nowhere—fainting wasn’t something he could control.
She glanced at him and said, "You should at least let Director Sun know and go to the hospital for a checkup. What if it’s something serious?"
Shen Yi gave a faint smile and shook his head. "No need, it’s an old issue. Going to the hospital won’t help."
Sang Ning clicked her tongue a few times in her head. Shen Yi’s health seemed pretty fragile—fainting just like that.
The bedroom curtain had a small gap, and through it, Sang Ning saw that Xiao Zhao had already left. For now, no one else was coming into the courtyard.
She withdrew her gaze, gave Shen Yi a quick once-over, and started shooing him away. "You’ve been mooching off my bed and air conditioning for half an hour now. Isn’t it time you left?"
Shen Yi’s heart jolted, and it was only then that he realized he wasn’t sleeping in his tent.
Glancing down at the thin blanket draped over his waist, his face instantly flushed red.
This was a blanket that Sang Ning had used!
The blanket suddenly felt as if it was burning him. Shen Yi flung it off in a flash and immediately bounced up from the bed.
Gone was his usual air of cold indifference. From head to toe, he oozed helpless panic. Standing by the bedside, he repeatedly bowed to Sang Ning in a frenzy, apologizing, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m really sorry!"
Earlier, when Shen Yi fainted, only the tips of his ears had turned red. Now his entire face was a fiery red that extended all the way down his neck, making his head look like a giant boiled shrimp.
Sang Ning was honestly startled. Shen Yi’s state was worse than before he fainted, and she was worried he might faint again.
After bowing several times, Shen Yi stumbled toward the door.
As he walked, he kept muttering "I’m sorry," his shaky silhouette resembling someone who had lost their soul.
Sang Ning curled her lip in distaste. Seems like Shen Yi might have some mental issues. Being a top celebrity really wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
She turned around, bent slightly, and lifted up the corner of her bedsheet, preparing to change it again.
It wasn’t like she was outright disgusted by Shen Yi. It was just that she’d once seen a post online about the difference between men’s and women’s pillows. The sight of yellow sweat stains on a pillow had left a lasting psychological scar on her.
It gave her a deeply ingrained bias that men were inherently gross. The fact that she let Shen Yi lie on her bed for half an hour was already a sign she considered him a friend.
Just as Shen Yi stepped out of the bedroom and was about to close the door, he saw through the gap that Sang Ning was picking up the pillow he had leaned against earlier. She was pouting in extreme disdain as she stripped off the pillowcase.
A chill ran down the back of Shen Yi’s neck. Raising his hand, he reflexively covered his head, launching into some serious self-doubt.
He had washed his hair just last night—could it really have gotten dirty again that quickly?
Shen Yi felt like he had lost all his dignity in just one day. First, he fainted in front of Sang Ning. Then, her reaction to his using her pillow had been outright disgust.
He grabbed the door handle and gently closed the bedroom door with a blank expression on his face.
If he couldn’t see it, it wouldn’t be embarrassing.
Walking into the living room, Shen Yi slowed his steps, trying to minimize his presence as much as possible.
The adjacent room belonged to Li Sulan. He wondered if she’d seen anything when he was carried in earlier.
At the very least, he had no desire to face her while he was fully conscious.
Once he reached the yard and closed the final door behind him, Shen Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Under the gazebo, Sang Chuan and Song Shiye were doing practice problems. Shen Yi started walking in their direction.
He hadn’t gone far when someone suddenly burst in through the courtyard gate.
"Mom—"
Chu Xi called out toward the main house. But the moment she saw Shen Yi, her steps halted in place.
After a second of hesitation, she asked suspiciously, "Mr. Shen Yi, did you just come out of the house?"
Sang Chuan and Song Shiye both turned their heads to look. There stood Shen Yi in front of the main house door.
One hand was in his pocket, his expression icy and aloof, as if he had reclaimed his usual cool demeanor.
"Yiyi, did you sleep well?" Sang Chuan raised an eyebrow at him.
See? He knew it. Letting Shen Yi rest in the air-conditioned room was the right call.
After just half an hour of sleep, the man was practically brimming with vitality. His prediction had been spot on.
"Sleep? Where did you sleep?!"
Chu Xi whipped her head around, her sharp gaze drilling into Sang Chuan’s face, eyes wide with rage.
If looks could kill, Sang Chuan would’ve been a puddle of blood by now.
Nonchalantly, Sang Chuan held his pen between two fingers, pretended to take a puff, and blew out an imaginary smoke ring. "Where else would he sleep? On my sister’s bed, of course—"
"WHAT!"
Chu Xi’s eyes went as wide as saucers, and she let out an incredulous scream so loud it startled both Li Sulan and Sang Ning, who were still inside the house.
"Sang Chuan, what nonsense are you spouting?!" Shen Yi scowled, his brows furrowing so tightly they looked about to knot together. His calm composure was nowhere to be seen.
Startled by their simultaneous yelling, Sang Chuan blinked in confusion, his wide, innocent eyes glistening. He pouted and said, "I wasn’t even done talking, and you two are already shouting like maniacs. What’s your deal?"
With a resentful look at Shen Yi, Sang Chuan snapped, "You got heatstroke and passed out. I begged my sister to let you rest in her air-conditioned room. And this is how you repay your lifesaver?"
"Thanks a lot!" Shen Yi said through gritted teeth, his expression darker than a stormy sky.
Chu Xi, meanwhile, was so rattled that her mind completely ignored the "heatstroke and passed out" part. The only thing looping in her head was the horrifying fact that Shen Yi had slept on Sang Ning’s bed!
Her chest felt like it was stuffed with cotton, her heart aching with a raw, scraping pain. Betrayal clawed at her soul as rage burned hotter and hotter in her eyes.
When Sang Ning heard the scream from the courtyard and recognized Chu Xi’s voice, she didn’t bother investigating. She simply kept her head down, focused on changing the bedsheets.
She had no interest in witnessing Chu Xi’s meltdown.
Li Sulan, on the other hand, dashed out of her room the moment she heard the scream. She arrived just in time to see Chu Xi hunched over, silently crying.
Feeling a pang of heartache, Li Sulan quickly stepped forward and wrapped her arms around her. "Xixi, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Mom! How could you and Sang Ning bully me like this!" Chu Xi clung to Li Sulan’s clothes, her eyes red as she accused her.
Li Sulan froze, utterly bewildered. She had only been resting in her room and hadn’t done anything.
Instinctively, she turned to glare at Sang Chuan. This brat from the Sang Family was always up to no good.
"Sang kid! What did you do to Xixi?" she spat venomously.
Sang Chuan let out a baffled "Ha," his mouth pulling into a theatrically exaggerated smirk that nearly reached his ears.
He sighed dramatically, "There are weirdos every year, but this year’s especially bad!"
Chu Xi pulled away from Li Sulan, grabbing her arms and shaking them frantically. "Mom, you share a suite with Sang Ning, right? Shen Yi was seduced by her and ended up on her bed! How could you have missed that?"
Li Sulan’s brain buzzed furiously. After processing Chu Xi’s accusation, the only conclusion she could draw was this—
Sang Ning had seduced someone right under her nose. And it wasn’t just anyone; it was Chu Xi’s crush!
"Chu Xi, that’s enough. You’re getting more and more ridiculous!" Shen Yi’s face was dark as ink, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Shut up!" Sang Chuan and Song Shiye spotted someone holding a camera walking into the courtyard, and their blood ran cold. They shouted at Chu Xi simultaneously.
If what Chu Xi just said ended up on film, it would be a disaster!
