Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!-Chapter 227: Outside the Flame Zone
Outside the Flame Zone, everyone present noticed after a while that the intensity of the flame had begun to decrease.
This sudden change, on the one hand, caused concern, and on the other, fueled curiosity. Everyone was wondering what was hiding inside this mysterious Flame Zone.
In the old world, before the disaster, no one would have waited so long. Everyone would have realized that it was just a forest fire, and there was nothing inside but piles of burnt ash and burning. However, after the disaster, everything changed.
Such an unexpected event could lead to the appearance of anything from a rare artifact to a rare beast that could be hunted and earn a good income. The only question is what caused all this.
Irene, like the rest of the group, noticed the sudden change, but instead of paying attention to the Flame Zone, her gaze fell on Esma.
Esma, noticing Irene's gaze, just shook her head, making it clear that nothing had changed yet.
Irene, a little disappointed, clenched her fist and decided to continue waiting like the others.
After a while, Ned, who had been standing next to Esma like a statue all this time, without leaving her side, suddenly moved. His gaze was fixed on the Area of Flames. Then, after looking around at everyone present, he turned around without another word and walked away.
"Is something wrong?"
"Where did he go?"
"What's going on?"
These questions started pouring in from the beauties from Irene's group, who started asking them to each other. Some of them still couldn't take their eyes off Ned, amazed by his appearance. Therefore, his sudden departure took everyone by surprise.
"What's wrong with him?" Irene asked Esma. Esma didn't know what had happened to him either, but before she could respond, Esma suddenly received a message from Arabel through their contract.
"Esma, stay with Irene and learn from her. Learn everything you can about our world. Idan and I will not return to the capital, but will immediately head North. Please look after Bera, I'm leaving her to look after my nephew instead."
"What happened?" asked Irene, noticing how Esma's face suddenly changed. After receiving Arabel's message, Esma finally calmed down and, looking at Irene, conveyed the contents of the message to her word for word through the Soul Force.
Then Esma turned her gaze back to the Flame Zone and frowned. Even though she had just received a message from Arabel, Esma herself couldn't communicate with her due to the barriers created by the Flame Zone.
Irene also breathed a sigh of relief when she found out that Idan was okay, and her anxiety eased a little. Now she was wondering how her brother and future sister-in-law were going to leave this place.
Irene did not object to Idan and Arabel heading north in search of Arslan. To some extent, she was even glad of it. Irene had already reunited her brother, and Arslan still had no idea that her older sister had finally returned.
Irene hadn't told Arslan the news yet due to communication difficulties, but now she decided to give Arabel the opportunity to do it on her own.
A little more time passed, and the flames began to fade at an increasing rate.
While waiting for the fire to completely disappear, Esma received a message from Arabel again.:
"Esma, ask Irene to find out information about a man named Leopold Griffiths. He is an awakened one. Idan believes that he became one naturally and has not yet been registered with the Awakened Association. However, it doesn't hurt to verify this personally. Coco will bring his photo soon. And, yes, Idan asked not to take any action if Irene finds him."
After receiving this message, Esma looked at Irene and asked, using her Soul Power so that no one would hear her.:
"Irene, do you know a man named Leopold Griffiths?"
This unexpected question brought Irene out of her reverie, and she looked questioningly at Esma.
"Who?" asked Irene.
"Leopold Griffiths, — Esma clarified.
"Hmm... I don't think so. I do not know anyone with that name," Irene, having searched through all her acquaintances and heard about them, could not find a person with that name.
"Hmm... I see, — Esma said, and just like last time, she delivered exactly the message she had received from Arabel.
Irene was surprised that Esma's interest in this Leopold was sparked by Arabel's message and Idan's request to find out about this man.
"A natural awakened one, right?" Irene asked herself. She was curious to find out who Leopold Griffiths was, who was so interested in her younger brother, and what the reasons for this interest were.
After a while, the Flame Zone weakened even more, and now it was possible to take a little look at what was happening at the border of the zone.
"Hey! Look, what is this?!" someone from the crowd suddenly shouted, pointing at the night sky.
Attracted by the shout, everyone looked up, and under the rays of the moonlight, everyone saw a distant black silhouette heading their way.
It was difficult to determine what it was, but everyone understood that it was something alive, a creature with huge wings.
When the creature got close enough, a high-pitched scream was heard, which caused everyone present to cover their ears.
The creature did not stop and did not attack the crowd, but continued its way straight into the Flame Zone and, having reached the border, entered without resistance.
Only then, under the light of the fire, did everyone see the outline of the creature.
"A Dragon!" someone shouted, and everyone immediately started shouting that it was a dragon.
"A Dragon?" — Esma asked contemptuously, looking at the crowd. "It's just an ordinary Wyvern."
"A Wyvern?" Irene, who was standing close to Esme, heard her comment.
"Yes, it's a simple Wyvern," Esma repeated, then, using the soul force, she continued: "I didn't know that Ned had a Wyvern shape in his collection."
"Ned?" asked Irene, not believing what she had just heard.
"Well, yes. It was Ned," Esma confirmed her own words.
"Irene!" Hazel exclaimed, running up to her friend. Rachel and Ren followed her.
"Was it really a Dragon?" asked Hazel, her eyes alight with excitement. Until that day, they had only heard of the existence of such creatures in Junonia, and in their world they were mentioned only in fictional stories and legends.
"Well, he was too small for a Dragon," Rachel added.
"I think it's more like a Wyvern," Irene expressed her opinion after receiving confirmation from Esma. While Esma tried not to draw attention to herself, she just watched what was happening.
"By the way, where did your handsome guy go?" Hazel suddenly asked Esma, noticing Ned's absence.
Esma cursed inwardly and, trying to think of a suitable answer, she heard a cry similar to that of a dragon or a wyvern.
Everyone turned their attention back to the source of the sound.
The creature soared upward with such speed that few people had time to see it. However, those who succeeded noticed two silhouettes on his back and could not believe their eyes. They began to doubt whether they had actually seen people on the creature's back, or if it was just a figment of their imagination.
Rising high into the sky, the creature headed north and quickly disappeared from sight.
As soon as it disappeared, the flames began to fade rapidly, leaving behind a scorched earth with a large crater in the center, as if something had exploded. There were also footprints of at least two people on the ground.
