Kael descended the stairs of Building A-1 with firm steps, his patience already worn thin. He wasn't in the mood for delays or bureaucratic excuses. He just wanted to get this shit sorted out and leave as quickly as possible.

Upon reaching the first floor, he spotted a discreet sign that read "Dormitory Management." Without hesitation, he pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The room was simple, lined with shelves full of documents, a reception desk, and... an elf.

She was sitting behind the desk, buried in a book so thick that it almost completely hid her face. Her long blonde hair was slightly messy, and her glasses were slipping dangerously down her nose.

Kael frowned. "Hey."

"KYAH!"

The elf jumped so hard she nearly fell off her chair, her glasses flying from her face. With quick reflexes, Kael reached out and caught them mid-air before they hit the ground.

The girl blinked several times, trying to process what had just happened. Her pointed ears trembled slightly—a clear sign that she was still startled.

"W-Who are you?! How did you get in here without knocking?!" she asked, trying to catch her breath.

Kael tossed the glasses back to her unceremoniously. "Door was open. I need to switch dorms."

The elf grabbed her glasses awkwardly, placing them back on her face—crookedly. "S-Switch dorms? But… that's not so simple! There's a process, rules, authorizations—"

"I don't care. Just tell me who can fix this." Kael cut her off, crossing his arms.

The elf swallowed hard, clearly nervous. "W-Well… I'm responsible for the dormitory records, so technically I can… but…"

She hesitated, looking at Kael with a mix of uncertainty and curiosity. "Why do you want to change rooms so quickly? Did something happen?"

Kael rolled his eyes. "Yeah. They put me in the same dorm as a girl who almost accused me of being a pervert. I don't want the headache."

The elf's eyes widened. "W-WHAT?! What do you mean they put a man and a woman together?! That goes against all of the academy's organization! This… this is a huge mistake!"

Kael sighed. "Then fix it."

The elf bit her lip, hastily grabbing some papers and spreading them across the desk. "O-Okay! I… I just need to find your record and—AH!"

In the midst of the chaos, she accidentally knocked over an open inkwell, spilling blue ink all over the desk… and all over her own arms.

Kael closed his eyes for a second, trying to summon the last scraps of patience he had left.

"This is going to take a while…" He sighed, crossing his arms as he watched the elf enter full panic mode, attempting to clean up the mess with the sleeves of her own clothes—only making it worse.

"Ahhh, no, no, no! This can't be happening!" she muttered frantically, trying to stack the stained papers and separate the ones that were still dry.

Meanwhile, Umbra floated around Kael, laughing as if he had just witnessed the funniest scene in the world.

"Hahahaha! This is gold! The Supreme Hunter faces his greatest enemy… incompetent bureaucracy!"

Kael shot the shadow a dry look. "You're not helping."

"Of course I am! I'm here to make sure you enjoy every second of this comedy!" Umbra spun through the air in pure amusement.

The elf, still struggling to regain control of the situation, grabbed a cloth and started wiping her glasses—only to drop them again.

Kael caught them again before they hit the ground and handed them back without a word.

The elf looked up at him, cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "I-I… I can fix this! J-Just give me a second!"

"Great. Then fix it." Kael responded impatiently.

She took a deep breath, tried to compose herself, and finally started flipping through the records—her fingers still stained with ink.

"Y-Your name?"

"Kael Scarlet."

The elf froze for a moment, her eyes widening. "W-WAIT! YOU'RE KAEL SCARLET?!"

Kael raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? What's the problem?"

She started sweating nervously. "I-I heard that you were personally summoned by Director Altharion! And that you… well… broke a professor on your first day!"

Kael sighed. "It was self-defense. Now, can you switch my dorm or not?"

The elf hesitated, biting her lip. "I… I can! But… I don't know if I should..."

Kael narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"

She avoided his gaze, clearly nervous. "Well… if the director himself put you there, there must be a reason. And… what if I change it and he gets mad at me? I like my job!"

Kael pinched the bridge of his nose. "So you want me to stay there and deal with a hysterical girl every day?"

The elf blushed slightly, looking down at the papers. "It's not that, but… maybe you should wait a bit and see how things play out. Amelia Valroth isn't just anyone, you know…"

Kael kept rubbing his temples. "For fuck's sake."

Umbra was still laughing, clapping its shadowy hands in the air. "This just keeps getting better!"

Kael ignored the shadow and crossed his arms, pondering the situation. If the director had placed him there, there was a reason behind it. Changing dorms could create an even bigger issue, and he didn't want to attract more attention than he already had.

"So, what's the plan?" Umbra teased, still amused.

Kael took a deep breath and stared at the elf. "Forget the transfer. But if that girl starts causing problems, I'll expect a solution."

The elf nodded quickly. "O-Of course! I'll make a note of it! Ah… and sorry for the confusion."

Kael didn't respond. He simply turned and walked out.

"Looks like you're going to have a very special roommate." Umbra commented, still floating beside him.

Kael just sighed. "If she screams at me again, I'll blow up that damn room."

Umbra burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Now that I'd love to see! Imagine getting expelled for vandalism on your second day!"

Kael rolled his eyes and kept walking down the corridor, feeling the weight of the situation settling on him. Sharing a room with a hysterical girl was not part of his plans.

"At least she's pretty," Umbra added, still hovering at his side. "If she were some loud ogre, then it would be a real nightmare."

"Doesn't matter," Kael muttered. "The problem isn't how she looks, it's the drama. If she freaks out every time she sees me, I won't have any peace."

He stepped out of the administration building and took a deep breath, looking up at the dark night sky. The cold wind hit his face, offering some relief to the headache forming in his skull.

"So, what now?" Umbra asked. "Are you going back to the dorm, or are you sleeping on the roof?"

Kael ran a hand through his hair and exhaled tiredly. "If I keep putting it off, it'll only get worse later. Better go back and deal with this shit now."

"That's the spirit, my Master! Show your bravery!" Umbra joked, clapping its hands.

Without the patience to argue, Kael started making his way back to the dorm, mentally preparing himself for round two against Amelia Valroth.

Kael closed the door behind him and finally took the time to really look around. Now that Amelia wasn't screaming like a lunatic, he realized that the dorm was actually a luxurious penthouse.

The space was vast, with high ceilings and massive windows that provided a breathtaking nighttime view of the academy. The floor was polished wood, with plush rugs strategically placed for comfort. The entire place exuded wealth and sophistication, as if it were meant for nobles or important figures.

A spacious living area featured dark leather sofas, a sleek coffee table, and even a small magical fireplace embedded in the wall. To the side, a modern, well-equipped kitchen gleamed with marble countertops and high-end utensils. Further ahead, two doors led to separate bedrooms.

"Dude, you basically scored a royal suite." Umbra commented, floating around the room. "And you wanted to trade this for some random little dorm? Tsk, tsk, Kael, no vision at all."

Kael scoffed. "No point in having luxury if I can't have peace."

He walked across the dorm, feeling the softness of the rug beneath his bare feet. It was undoubtedly a comfortable place, but he still couldn't fully relax there.

That's when Amelia stepped out of her room again, now wearing a silk robe over her lingerie. Still irritated, but clearly calmer than before.

"You came back." She crossed her arms. "Decided not to run away like a coward?"

Kael raised an eyebrow. "I don't run from anything, Valroth. But if you want to keep acting like I'm some criminal, we can settle this right now."

She pressed her lips together but didn't snap back. It seemed she was also starting to realize that acting like a lunatic would only make things worse.

"I think we should set some ground rules." Amelia finally said, taking a deep breath.

Kael crossed his arms. "I've got one: don't scream like a maniac for no reason."

Amelia narrowed her eyes, clearly annoyed, but held herself back. "Fine… and I have one too: no invading my personal space."

Kael shrugged. "No problem. I'm not interested in you."

Amelia blinked, caught off guard by the blunt response. Her pride seemed wounded for a brief moment, but she just huffed and looked away.

"Good. Then… let's just pretend the other doesn't exist."

Kael nodded. "Works for me."

He then turned and walked toward his own room, finally ready to get some rest.

But just before entering, he heard Umbra murmur playfully, "You can pretend you're not interested in her… but that outfit says otherwise."

Kael paused for a second, then spoke without looking back. "Panty report."

Umbra was silent for a moment, caught off guard by the unexpected response. Then, a wicked grin spread across its shadowy face.

"Wetter than an enchanted lake at dawn."

Kael let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "Tsk… figured."

Without another word, he opened the door and stepped into his room, while Umbra kept laughing, clearly pleased with the exchange.
