STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 273: Direct confrontation
Facility:
"You guys have come," Jacob asked upon seeing Betsy Lowe and Daniel Stone.
Daniel nodded his head before wiping away beads of sweat from his forehead. He didn't expect to see a huge crowd within a few minutes.
Betsy Lowe showed a worrisome look.
"Instructor, where is he?" she asked.
"We have just come here," Jacob replied.
Then he turned towards the two instructors before beginning to inquire about what had happened.
The Elemental Department instructor was speaking with her students. The Control Department instructor did the same.
Right after, both the S-Graders appeared outside upon hearing about their arrival.
May Lindsey saw the instructor. Then she noticed the instructor and two members of the STRIKER Department. She frowned. She hadn't expected everyone to come so soon.
Jeremy was still training inside the room. She had yet to see him.
Victor Scott felt the same way. The drama hadn't started yet. He thought everyone had gathered beforehand.
On the other hand, Jacob sighed in relief after learning that Jeremy was training inside the practice room.
Then the Elemental instructor turned towards May Lindsey. She asked, "May Lindsey, what's going on?"
"Don't you know the management has already issued a warning? Private fights are not allowed," she added.
Hearing that, May Lindsey shook her head before saying, "I have just come here to confront Jeremy Night directly about the challenge."
The female instructor furrowed her eyebrows.
The middle-aged man who was the Control Department instructor faced Victor Scott.
He asked, "What about you?"
Victor replied with a smile, "My intention was the same. But unfortunately, he has yet to come outside."
Before their instructors could speak further, Instructor Jacob stepped inside.
He said, "If he is not responding to your challenges, then it clearly means he is not interested. What's the point of creating such a scene?"
"If he doesn't want to fight, he can say so. But so far, he hasn't expressed anything," May Lindsey replied.
"If he is scared to fight, he can say it openly," Victor Scott added from the side.
Gasp!
A small exclamation occurred. They hadn't expected low-key Victor Scott to speak out right now.
Jacob's eyebrows furrowed. He couldn't say certain things, for example, the problems faced by Jeremy Night.
"Jacob, let's wait for Jeremy Night," the female instructor of the Elemental Department said.
The Control Department instructor said the same.
Hearing that, Jacob had no choice but to stay silent and wait for Jeremy to come out.
...
Training room:
Jeremy was practicing inside the room. Right now, he was thinking about how to better use his sword moves together with his eye abilities.
If he could do that, he could avoid unnecessary moves. Then he could take out targets in one or two moves. He thought it would be more efficient if he got to practice against the Corrupted beasts.
Unfortunately, there was a ban on him. He didn't know how to convince the Instructor, Elder Derek, and the Dean. They were worried about his life.
Sigh!
A sigh escaped his mouth as he thought about it. Then he decided to take a break. It had been one hour since he had been training non-stop. He then opened the door to step out.
When he appeared outside, he found numerous scorching gazes on him. His pupils shrank as he noticed a large number of students gathered there.
"What's going on?" Jeremy uttered in surprise.
Then he saw two people walking out among the crowd. Upon seeing them, his eyes turned cold.
"Don't tell me they have created a scene because of the challenge," he thought.
May Lindsey and Victor Scott were both walking towards him.
Gasp!
A commotion ensued.
Jeremy saw the Department Instructor Jacob, Betsy, and Daniel coming out of the crowd. Not only them; he spotted two other Department Instructors.
He felt he couldn't escape now. They would demand answers from him right away.
Then his gaze turned towards May Lindsey and Victor Scott.
"Jeremy Night, you have been avoiding my rematch request?"
"But I want an answer right now," May Lindsey asked.
Before he could respond, he heard Victor Scott open his mouth.
"Last time, I didn't challenge you. So I thought of fighting against you this time after becoming a Tier-1 limit Beast Tamer. But you have not responded to my request either."
"If you are scared, you can say it openly," Victor Scott said.
May Lindsey was taken aback. She found Victor's statement to be provocative. The Department instructors felt the same way as well. They hadn't expected Victor Scott to speak like this.
At the same time, the students who were watching from the sidelines were happy. They wanted to watch a drama. Now it was happening in front of their eyes.
Jeremy, who heard both of their statements, wasn't happy. He had already thought of a solution to this current problem.
He then said, "It's good that both of you have reached the Tier-1 limit. But I would be happy if you guys could kill a Tier-4 beast before challenging me."
Gasp!
"A Tier-4 beast?" May Lindsey was stunned.
Victor Scott was dumbfounded as well. He remembered that Jeremy had asked them to defeat Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts last time.
Now he was asking them again to defeat a Tier-4 beast. But the Tier-4 Corrupted Beast was not an ordinary beast.
May Lindsey was processing the words as well.
The instructors and the students exclaimed in surprise. They couldn't believe what they were hearing right now.
To kill a Tier-4 Beast was not an easy task. Even their 3rd and 4th-year students wouldn't be able to do that.
Instructor Jacob was dumbfounded as well. He recalled that last time Jeremy set the condition as well. But that was for Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts. The Tier-4 Beast was completely different.
It's not easy to kill, even for veteran Tier-4 Beast Tamers.
The students who were watching from the sidelines thought that the condition was unacceptable because their senior students wouldn't be able to do that.
They just felt Jeremy was avoiding the duel by setting this condition. They didn't believe Jeremy Night had the strength to kill a Tier-4 Beast either.
Betsy and Daniel were shocked. They had never thought of this idea before. Unlike others, they believed Jeremy could kill a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.
Last time, Jeremy had saved their lives in the wilderness.
