Chapter 554: Dog Dog Dog (1)

The three princes charged straight inside the second the grand doors were fully opened. They searched the entire royal chamber but found no trace of the Emperor or the Empress.

"Why are you inside the royal chamber?" Akihito Tama's gaze fell upon Li Xiaofei as he asked, "Where are His Majesty and the Empress?"

Li Xiaofei slowly opened his eyes. Thirty-one days had passed in the real world. That was equivalent to three hundred and ten days inside the Secret Time Pavilion. Nearly a year had gone by.

He had completely refined the Golden Lizard King's bloodline within Tsukiha Yaiba. He had gained an extraordinary regenerative ability that could only be described as monstrous. Moreover, his power had surged dramatically. He had achieved mastery of the Five Spirits Realm. At this moment, his strength made slaying Saints seem effortless.

"The Empress and His Majesty?" Li Xiaofei spoke calmly, "It's a long story."

"Speak quickly," Akihito Kazehoko, one of the princes, barked angrily. "What on earth happened?"

Li Xiaofei replied, "You may find it hard to believe, but the Empress first gave the Emperor a crown of disgrace, then killed him. After that, she gave him another crown of disgrace. Later, I killed the Empress... You should be thanking me, really. After all, I eliminated the regicide on your behalf."

The three princes exchanged bewildered glances.

What kind of nonsense is this?

"How dare you! Shinzu Genshi, you still dare to play tricks?" Akihito Tama shouted sternly, "You must have harmed His Majesty and the Empress. Speak! Was it you?"

Li Xiaofei replied, "If you insist on saying so, I won’t deny it."

The other two princes immediately inhaled sharply. Something serious had clearly happened. From his tone, it seemed that the Emperor and the Empress truly had met with misfortune.

"Seize him at once and interrogate him harshly!" Akihito Tama commanded loudly.

Akihito Rinjin acted without hesitation. As one of the Four Saints of the royal family, and a Sword Saint, his mastery of swordsmanship was extraordinary. He only needed to casually point, and the air within the royal chamber was instantly filled with raging sword qi.

Li Xiaofei burst into loud laughter. He reached out and summoned the Great Xia treasured blade, Chixia, from the Secret Time Pavilion. He swept it upward as he executed the White Deer Academy's sword technique, A Journey Begins.

Akihito Rinjin felt an overwhelming torrent of blade qi rushing toward him, like a cascading celestial river threatening to drown him completely.

"This isn’t good—he’s been hiding his strength!"

"A cunning villain!"

"Attack him together!"

The other two princes quickly realized that Shinzu Genshi was far more problematic than they had anticipated. His hidden strength was astonishing. However, they soon sensed that something was seriously wrong. Despite facing the combined assault of three Saints, Shinzu Genshi was holding his ground without faltering.

For a moment, the royal chamber was filled with deafening explosions. The terrifying aftershocks of the Saint-level battle wreaked havoc within the chamber, reducing tables, chairs, carpets, and the bed to nothing but fine dust.

However, Li Xiaofei only grew more and more exhilarated as the battle progressed. He had only just broken through, and now he had three Saints to spar with. This allowed him to refine his newly acquired strength and polish his techniques.

His control over the spiritual energy coursing through his five internal organs became nearly perfect. His combat prowess skyrocketed at a pace visible to the naked eye.

After more than ten minutes, Li Xiaofei clearly felt that the royal family's three Saints from Jiepeng could no longer pose a challenge to him.

"That’s enough—I’m done playing with you," he declared, losing his patience. He shouted, "Asura Form!"

In an instant, his body began to swell.

Rip!

His clothes tore apart as he transformed into a towering twenty-meter-tall giant in the blink of an eye. His muscles bulged explosively as the aura that burst forth from his body surged wildly through the royal chamber.

Had it not been for the vast expanse of the Sun and Moon Palace, his transformation would have punctured the ceiling of the chamber.

The three royal Saints felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on them. The enormous chamber seemed to expand under the immense force, as though water had just been squeezed into a confined vessel and was now threatening to burst it apart.

Boom!

Li Xiaofei threw a punch.

Seven Point Fist!

The martial technique, imbued with a sinister, soft force, struck Akihito Rinjin square in the chest.

Crash!

Akihito Rinjin was sent flying backward, slamming heavily against the inner wall of the royal chamber before sliding limply to the ground. He was already completely and utterly lifeless.

"What?" Akihito Tama and Akihito Kazehoko immediately recognized the peril they were in.

They immediately turned and fled. But how could Li Xiaofei let them escape?

In his Asura Form, Li Xiaofei’s massive body possessed the speed, strength, and reflexes of a mid-to-high level Saint. He could instantly kill ordinary Saints with the Seven Point Fist, an ancient martial technique of extraordinary power.

He used the Graceful Step of the Waves to instantly close the distance to his targets. In just a few moments, he had slain both Akihito Tama and Akihito Kazehoko within the royal chamber. Thus, including Akihito Gyokushitsu, who had fallen earlier to Bajie, all four Saints of the Jiepeng royal family were now dead.

Boom!

Li Xiaofei unleashed another punch. The massive doors of the royal chamber were blasted off their hinges. He stepped out, his towering, god-like body radiating waves of energy that distorted the air around him. To the onlookers, he seemed like a demonic king emerging straight from the depths of hell.

Li Xiaofei began his massacre. The martial experts of the royal family fell to his blade one after another, as he left no survivors. However, he spared the ordinary warriors, royal family members, and the elderly, women, and children.

Before long, Yamato Palace descended into utter chaos. Li Xiaofei reverted to his normal size, donned a fresh set of clothes, and strode out of the palace with an air of nonchalance. His next target— The Temple!

Since his strength had significantly increased, Li Xiaofei was now prepared to storm the Temple. He wanted to save Old Tan, and the answers he sought might lie within the Temple. He wasn’t willing to wait any longer.

Flying at low altitude, he rapidly approached the Temple. Before long, an expression of surprise appeared on Li Xiaofei’s face. He landed atop a hundred-meter-tall skyscraper and surveyed his surroundings. He saw plumes of black smoke rising into the clear sky from various parts of the city.

They resembled columns of wolf smoke as they spiraled upward. He could hear wailing, cries for help, and anguished screams being carried by the wind. Li Xiaofei flared his nostrils as he detected the scent of blood permeating the city, along with the faint presence of subspace creatures.

What’s going on?

He was momentarily stunned.

I was only in seclusion for thirty days. How did the Tokyo Base City descend into what appears to be apocalyptic chaos?

He carefully examined the city with his enhanced vision. Finally, he spotted something shocking: the so-called Divine Followers were moving through the city, bringing slaughter, looting, fire, and death upon the Jiepeng people.

Did the monsters within the Temple go mad?

Li Xiaofei was deeply shocked.

To openly massacre and pillage civilians like this...These were the very people who worshipped them as deities!

As expected, they are twisted to the core. Even the deities they worship are equally depraved.

Li Xiaofei pondered for a moment but decided not to meddle. He quickened his pace and soon arrived at the Temple. The Jiepeng Temple held a uniquely exalted position within the empire. The Jiepeng people believed that the deities within the Temple, along with the apostles who devoted themselves to serving them, were the most noble and magnificent beings on Earth.

They were convinced these divine entities would protect the empire, safeguard all Jiepeng citizens, and bring them fortune, strength, and glory. As a result, the construction and worship of the Temple had reached an almost absurd level of extravagance.

The colossal golden palace stood atop a glacier-covered mountain peak. Under the sunlight, it seemed as if it were engulfed in blazing golden flames.

The elite troops of Jiepeng were stationed at the base of the mountain. Even though Tokyo Base City was in chaos, the soldiers stationed here remained disciplined and orderly. Li Xiaofei’s sudden appearance had caught the army’s attention. However, they were powerless to stop him. Even the most advanced radar systems could only catch fleeting afterimages of his presence.

By the time the experts among the stationed troops reacted, Li Xiaofei had already ascended the mountain.

"At least a Saint-level powerhouse... Send an immediate alert to the Temple," ordered the stationed commander, Akirō Yūya, after a brief moment of consideration.

They were forbidden from ascending the mountain without authorization. The Temple was far too sacred; how could mere mortals set foot upon it? Since an unknown Saint had climbed the mountain, it was better to leave the matter to the deities of the Temple.

Li Xiaofei landed just outside the cluster of golden palaces on the sacred mountain. He could sense the pervasive aura of subspace creatures lingering in every corner of the mountain.

The mountain paths and stone walls were also inscribed with numerous formation lines. These formations bore a strong resemblance to those he had encountered previously at the White Deer Academy.

Golden steps extended upward, tier after tier, ultimately leading to the main gates of the palace cluster, which stood wide open. There were no guards in sight.

Li Xiaofei appeared at the city gates in an instant and peered inside. The streets within were not particularly wide, but they wound and twisted as they led into the depths of the palace complex. Strangely, the streets were completely devoid of people. Not just people—there wasn’t even a single trace of life.

Li Xiaofei paused briefly, contemplating the situation.

Is this eerie stillness a normal state for the Temple, or did something unusual occur?

The air carried an unsettling vibe. Still, his exceptional skills emboldened him, leaving him unafraid. After a moment of thought, he prepared himself to summon the Heaven-Devouring Hound at a moment's notice, and stepped into the city.

Various temples of different sizes and designs lined both sides of the streets. Judging from the sculptures at their entrances, these temples seemed to house different deities.

Most of the sculptures resembled grotesque, bizarre hybrids of various animals—a chaotic mishmash of forms that appeared absurd and comical rather than possessing any semblance of divine dignity or solemnity.

"Could these be the appearances of subspace creatures?" Li Xiaofei mused silently.

The Jiepeng people truly are twisted. They actually worship these grotesque monstrosities as deities. What good can come from venerating such things? One only needs to look at the current chaos engulfing Tokyo Base City for the answer.

Li Xiaofei stepped into one of the medium-sized temples and began to look around. The interior was a mess. Many altars were shattered, and various decorations lay scattered across the floor in disarray.

Faint traces of dark greenish-black stains were visible on the golden floor. They appeared to be bloodstains.
