Chapter 3585: Primordial Skyflame Beast

As the two spoke, Wilderness God and Emperor Wu had already started fighting. As everyone expected, Wilderness God was being completely suppressed. Although he performed better than Astral Anura, Wilderness God was unable to do any damage at all, given Emperor Wu's overwhelming strength and defense.

Emperor Wu was not even using any battle techniques or innate gifts. He was using nothing more than his natural defenses and overwhelming physical strength that far surpassed Wilderness God’s.

Lu Yin frowned. The only one in the entire Spirit Nidus who was more powerful than him was the High Seraph, and Wilderness God was likely the only one who could stand equal to Lu Yin. Emperor Wu was the strongest beast-form Spirit Rebirth, and he was almost universally acknowledged as the most powerful Seraph. His might was unfathomable, and Wilderness God was completely out of his league.

Astral Anura recovered, feeling quite smug as he watched Wilderness God be beaten on the ground down below. Finally, the toad felt a bit of relief.

Boom!

Boom! Boom!

Deafening impacts rang out as Emperor Wu kicked Wilderness God away, blasting him into the ground. Then, a long halberd thrust out, slicing through the void, leaving afterimages and creating ripples in time as it slashed at Emperor Wu.

Emperor Wu stood in place, never moving. He allowed Wilderness God’s Boundless Halberd to strike, but the weapon barely managed to leave a scratch.

Emperor Wu’s fingers bent into a tight fist. With a single punch, he shattered the Boundless Halberd. Wilderness God was blasted away yet again, this time with his chest pierced. Blood sprayed across the ground.

Far away, Yi Die glanced at Boundless. This fight should be ending, and the next person from Boundless should be preparing to head out.

Emperor Wu had the same thought. While Wilderness God’s defenses surpassed the toad’s and his Boundless Halberd could create a bit of trouble for Emperor Wu, Wilderness God was greatly lacking when compared to Astral Anura’s final move. Emperor Wu could not shake the feeling that the toad’s final move had seemed familiar, though he could not quite seem to place where he had seen it before.

At this moment, Emperor Wu was still preoccupied with Astral Anura.

Sequence particles shot into the sky, and Wilderness God took a step forward. His body transformed from that of a human form into his natural beast form. A blast of pressure swept out in every direction, carrying a feeling of indescribable ferocity and violence.

Wilderness God had performed much better than Astral Anura. The toad had been sent flying by Emperor Wu’s first palm strike, while Wilderness God endured several blows and was still able to fight back. However, his efforts were all useless. No matter if he attacked once or a hundred times, Wilderness God could not harm Emperor Wu at all. In particular, given how impressive Astral Anura's final attack had been, no matter how well Wilderness God fought, it would be nearly impossible for him to surpass the toad’s last attack.

Emperor Wu once again knocked Wilderness God high into the air. This time, Wilderness God’s body was nearly torn in half, and his sequence particles had no effect at all.

Wilderness God once charged forward yet out. Blood soaked his body, and his unfading momentum gradually caught Emperor Wu’s attention. Thoughts of Astral Anura ceased as Emperor Wu paid attention to Wilderness God frenzied attacks. Emperor Wu leapt forward, one leg sweeping out to shatter the void and even freeze time. The kick struck Wilderness God’s neck and almost knocked his head off. His neck twisted, and his body was smashed far away, where he crashed into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Above Boundless, Sovereign Dou Sheng clenched his golden cudgel tightly as he said, "Now it's my turn."

"Wait," the Origin Progenitor stopped the man, though his eyes were still locked onto Yellowy, a pained expression on his face.

Chu Yi’s eye twitched. "Master, the gap between them is too much. Yellowy is already at his limit."

The Origin Progenitor continued to stare downwards. "He still hasn't given up."

Lu Yin also stared at the ground, his hands clasped behind his back. Wilderness God had relied on his undefeatable weapon and indestructible body to reach the peak, and he had also comprehended the Law of Destruction. All of this made him an extremely powerful Sequence Progenitor. Upon reaching the Origin realm, he was capable of challenging other Ortusers, despite having lost many years of cultivation. He still was not an opponent that most opponents could deal with.

Wilderness God even stood among the best of the Ortusers that Lu Yin had encountered in the Spirit Nidus. There was no doubt about that.

However, when compared to Emperor Wu, there was an insurmountable gap. If the fight continued, Wilderness God might even die.

Having an indestructible body did not mean that Wilderness God was immortal. His body could regenerate even after being shattered, but Emperor Wu could crush Wilderness God’s body to the point that there would not be even a fragment remaining. Lu Yin believed that this was exactly what Emperor Wu would do. The fact that Emperor Wu had restrained from attacking Lu Yin did not mean that the leader of the Primal Beastland feared Lu Yin. He was restraining himself, and he had been pushed to his limits by Astral Anura’s surprise attack.

Wilderness God rose up from underground, his eyes eerily calm. His Boundless Halberd appeared in his hand once more, and sequence particles flowed around his body as he charged at Emperor Wu.

Boom!

Another tremendous crash resounded as Emperor Wu’s power rose. This time, he kicked Wilderness God’s body in half. Wilderness God coughed up blood as his body reformed, his indestructible body finally making an appearance in the Spirit Nidus.

As soon as his body recovered, Wilderness God charged again.

Boom!

This time, Wilderness God’s body was torn clean apart. His body was shattered, and his blood spilled across the ground. Despite the damage, he still managed to recover and charge forward again.

Boom!

Boom!

Each loud crash was another moment when Wilderness God was beaten nearly to death. Not just the people aboard Boundless, but even the residents of the Primal Beastland and other parts of the Spirit Nidus who were watching could not stop themselves from wishing to see Wilderness God retreat. The fact that his body could regenerate roused countless people’s envy, but he was using that ability to continuously challenge Emperor Wu.

Emperor Wu won each exchange easily, to the point where he never needed to use any of his battle techniques or skills. This was the strength of the most powerful Seraph.

If he was not facing Emperor Wu, Wilderness God’s level of strength meant that, even if he would be defeated by the other six Seraphs, his loss would not have been quite so disastrous.

"Are you trying to die?" Emperor Wu's expression grew darker. He had already been surprised by Astral Anura, which had left him seething with rage. At the moment, Wilderness God was clinging to Emperor Wu as though he were seeking death. Despite possessing overwhelmingly greater strength, Emperor Wu still felt incredibly frustrated. He had reached the end of his patience.

"Come at me again, and I’ll pulverize you!"

Wilderness God’s body kept regenerating, even as he coughed up blood. He looked at Emperor Wu and showed a mocking smile. "The mighty Emperor Wu, the one known to be the strongest of the Seven Seraphs—when did you become so timid? What? Are you afraid of our Seraph Lu?"

Emperor Wu's eyes bulged, and he took a step forward. In an instant, he was already over Wilderness God’s head, a single hand pressing down. "You're seeking death."

A sound like the tolling of a death bell rang through the void, creating endless ripples that shook Boundless.

With this attack, Emperor Wu intended to utterly eliminate Wilderness God.

Lu Yin clenched a fist as he stared downwards.

Chu Yi’s expression changed dramatically. "He’s seeking death!"

His face pale, he turned back to look at the Origin Progenitor. "Master, Yellowy is about to die!"

The Origin Progenitor’s expression remained. While Yellowy had always seemed calm, the truth was that he could not face the current Tianyuan Megaverse, his fellow disciples, or even his master.

For the sake of the Tianyuan Megaverse’s astral beasts, Yellowy had made an agreement with Aeternus, and he had abandoned humanity. He had done so in hopes of carving a path for the astral beasts so that they would not be enslaved by humans. Instead, he had been schemed against by True God.

True God’s purpose had always been to reset the Tianyuan Megaverse. When that happened, not only humanity, but all of the astral beasts would also be wiped out.

After Yellowy was revived, he had learned the truth of the matter, and while he had not shown much of a reaction, there was a lingering knot in his heart concerning Aeternus and how he had abandoned the Fourth Mainland.

What had been right or wrong in an ancient era no longer mattered, but Wilderness God had nearly caused the entire Tianyuan Megaverse’s destruction.

Before leaving for the Spirit Nidus, Yellowy had boarded Boundless not just to protect his master, but also to atone for his past. He was seeking death, and his eyes were already dead.

Lu Yin had first noticed this back when Wilderness God had requested the first match with Emperor Wu, but what could be done about it? The knot in Wilderness God’s heart was his nightmare. Until it was dealt with, living would be worse than death for him.

The more emotionally driven a creature, the harder it became for them to break free from these knots that formed in their hearts.

Emperor Wu’s hand fell. He held nothing back in this attack. As long as no one intervened, the astral beast would die, and Emperor Wu could not be blamed for that death.

Chu Yi anxiously cried out, "Master!"

The Origin Progenitor let out a long breath. "Don't worry about it."

Lu Yin could not stop himself from glancing over at the Origin Progenitor.

Chu Yi’s face was deathly pale. "Master, that's Yellowy! Yellowy can’t die! We all need to go back together!"

The Origin Progenitor just stared downwards, looking torn. "Ultimately, it needs to return to its rightful owner..."

He then accessed his cosmic ring and pulled out a blue and red item that looked like the pit of a fruit. The pit was tossed towards Wilderness God.

Down on the ground, Wilderness God looked up at Emperor Wu’s palm before meeting the Origin Progenitor’s gaze. For the first time since his resurrection, Yellowy showed a genuine smile. "I’m sorry, Master, but I can no longer protect you."

Boom!

The ground shook as Emperor Wu’s hand fell. The void was crushed. This attack reduced everything to ash.

The Primal Beastland fell utterly silent. Emperor Wu had killed someone from Boundless. What would the consequences of this be?

Jiu Weihu and Yi Die exchanged glances. Boundless had just suffered their first casualty. Would things really continue as Emperor Wu had claimed? That seemed unlikely.

The watching cultivators all quietly retreated while keeping a wary eye on Boundless. It appeared that the real battle would soon begin.

Above the battleship, Lu Yin and the others continued to stare downwards.

Emperor Wu looked up and stared at Boundless. If war broke out, then so be it. He was waiting to see if Seraph Lu truly possessed the strength to challenge the most powerful of the Seven Seraphs.

Wind blew through the region as everyone waited to see Boundless’s reaction. Because of that, no one noticed a blue and red light that had appeared underground. It flowed through the cracks in the earth before transforming into beams that shot up into the sky. The beams were accompanied by a roar from underground that reached the heavens.

Emperor Wu was startled, and he looked down in disbelief. He didn’t die? Impossible! That last attack should have reduced him to ashes.

Lu Yin and the others let out sighs of relief.

The Origin Progenitor’s calmness relaxed, as even he had been a bit anxious.

The next moment, a strange yet powerful aura rose from beneath the earth. The sound of a beating heart echoed in everyone’s ears. It was as if the earth itself had become a monster, as though the universe had suddenly gained a heartbeat.

Everyone grew confused. What was going on?

Emperor Wu’s expression fell as he stared at the ground. He took a step forward, ready to deal with whatever strangeness emerged next.

The earth collapsed as a massive figure shot upwards and violently slammed into Emperor Wu. He punched at the figure, and there was a loud bang. However, a punch that would have previously sent Wilderness God flying did not even budge the massive figure. Standing before Emperor Wu was still Wilderness God, but the astral beast was somehow different. His body had a blue and red liquid flowing about it, and that liquid had blocked Emperor Wu’s punch.

He frowned and used more power to push Wilderness God, but the astral beast remained undaunted. At this moment, Wilderness God possessed the strength to stand up to Emperor Wu.

Above Boundless, Lu Yin was shocked by the sudden change. What had happened to Wilderness God’s power? freёwebnoѵel.com

The Pridebeast and the Megalith exchanged looks, feeling a sudden chill. They could sense that Wilderness God had undergone some kind of transformation.

Chu Yi exclaimed in surprise. "Master, what is that?"

The Origin Progenitor smiled, though his voice sounded bitter. "Before the Heavens Sect was established, astral beasts ruled over the Origin Universe. Aside from Stillstorm, who had disappeared long before even that era, there were many other powerful beasts. Some were so strong that they forced me and Yong Heng to join forces just to fight back.

"Primordial Skyflame Beast was one of them. That beast ruled over all of the astral beasts in the Origin Universe after Stillstorm disappeared. That astral beast is also Yellowy's ancestor."

Lu Yin was taken aback. "So that thing that you threw out there belonged to the Primordial Skyflame Beast?"

The Origin Progenitor nodded. "I killed Primordial Skyflame Beast and obtained its heart. That heart was also the bloodline inheritance of their species, as well as its innate gift. I didn’t want to give it to Yellowy because, as soon as I revealed it, he would learn that I killed Primordial Skyflame Beast. However, I had no other choice. The knot in his heart can only be undone if he dies once. As long as that knot remains, he will never become a Dukkhan, let alone surpass that realm."
