Chapter 1124: Battle To The Death (IV)

“Silver Moon, Southern Fist, He Yong!” He Yong brayed with laughter when he came to a decision. “The martial world stems from Silver Moon and of martial masters that employ the fist, Southern Fist is the greatest!

“The world quakes!” His determined yell echoed through the area and countless meridians shattered in his body. An immense strength erupted, alongside several dozen city annihilation missiles.

He Yong sent the Gold Armor in front of him flying with a tremendous punch and dashed forward, hugging the enemy tightly. “Who says New Martial is invincible?” he hooted with mirth. “Silver Moon is invincible!”

Boom!

An earth-shattering explosion ripped through the air. Mind-boggling force ripped the armor apart and revealed the golden body beneath the equipment. That, too, was ripped apart!

“Piss off!” The Immortal-level cultivator was highly alarmed and sought to punch the annoying weakling, but his fist was already blown to smithereens.

He Yong forced open more dao meridians at the last possible second and threw all caution to the wind. He just wanted to shake the world with that one punch!

KABOOM!

Enormous explosions burst forth, pulverizing the golden body and obliterating it. A surge of mental energy seeped out of the dust and a humanoid figure slowly took shape, looking on with incredulity...

Self-detonation!

That was a move deployed only by New Martial. Since when were New Martial citizens dragged into someone else’s self-detonation?

The disbelieving thought was just starting to form in his mind when a supernatural character floated upward from the wreckage and exploded!

“How do you think of surviving when I’m dying?” He Yong sneered forebodingly. “Everyone, He Yong will be the first one out of this battle!”

BAM!!

A final reverberation leveled the ground. A Gold Armor vanished with He Yong. Not too far away, Northern Fist stared at the detonation spot with a wooden look. Little He... was no more.

He’d known beforehand, hadn’t he? Everyone did!

He Yong had known when he suggested bringing the missiles to bomb their enemy out of existence. It was an unspoken future to the entire group. Silver Moon martial masters always kept their word.

“No one was really complaining about you all those times... Everyone just knew... that you didn’t care about any of that. You have a good temper and personality... which is why everyone dared bully you...” murmured Northern Fist. Little He, everyone really likes you, you know?

Southern Fist of the Thirty-Six is already gone. I’m next, aren’t I?

Just as the thought registered in his mind, a ray of spear intent pierced through the world!

Golden Spear was calm; there was no raucous laughter to be found here. He simply glanced at Hou Xiaochen fighting nearby.

My life... has been made and ruined by Hou Xiaochen. But at the end of it all, it’s my problem. Other people can shatter the internal demons left by Yuan Shuo, but I—the head of the Three Spears—retreat in defeat, losing again and again.

There are too many experts who walk the path of the spear. Huang Yu and Hou Xiaochen are easy examples. They far surpass me, so I might as well go first!

“Please record the name of Golden Spear in the history books if we win this battle!” Golden Spear’s chuckle trailed upon the wind. “Golden Spear triumphed in the end, so do not forget my personal name. Thank you for taking care of me these years, Director Hou!”

Hou Xiaochen rampaged through the battlefield like a crazed fiend. His spear broke the firmament and ran through a Gold Armor, ripping its mental strength apart. An icy look glinted out of hiss eyes and the Flaming Phoenix Spear blazed with unheralded bloodlust.

The Broken Will Spear!

He looked into the distance just as Golden Spear looked at him, the latter’s body crumbling away to dust. A golden spear had nailed a Gold Armor into the void, erupting with scintillating radiance a moment later.

Numerous city annihilation missiles swept through the area and exploded en masse! The shockwaves blew through everyone nearby!

The other powerhouses roared with fury, berserk looks settling in their stares. He Yong had just left them and now Golden Spear followed in his footsteps. Two were gone out of the Record of Thirty-Six!

Hou Xiaochen wanted to find a new target when a sound broke through the air. Another Gold Armor manifested like an assassin, striking with its longsword. Hou Xiaochen had just killed a Gold Armor by himself with his previous move and did not have time to react...

Killing intent abruptly soared into the air as a pair of hands wrapped around the longsword. Its palms shattered from the blow.

Yu Luocha’s face was covered in blood. She smiled while maintaining a death grip on the longsword, permitting it to stab deep into her body. She stabilized it with all the strength she had.

“Did you... show me mercy that day... because you thought... I was pretty?”

Sickly hadn’t killed her that fateful day in the martial world, but she was a fiend! She’d killed so many in the name of revenge. Would Yu Luocha still be called such if she didn’t kill people? ‘Luocha’ was a name for demons and evil spirits!

“You must have found me beautiful that day...” She smiled radiantly. “You are... such a lecher...”

The Flaming Phoenix Spear punctured heaven and earth!

Hou Xiaochen howled like a wild beast; a dao meridian in his head popped open. He stabbed the Gold Armor being held in place by its weapon. One stab, two stabs, three stabs...

It wasn’t until the Gold Armor had been obliterated, its body pulverized and mental strength dissipated that Hou Xiaochen stumbled to a stop. He smiled warmly and walked toward the woman with the broken body.

“You are beautiful... On that day, I felt that the Silver Moon martial world should not be populated by only women like Light Sword... My apologies, Light Sword. Yu Luocha, will you marry me if we win this battle?”

“Mmhmm.” Yu Luocha nodded shyly, her body disintegrating into dust. Hou Xiaochen reached forward to grab some, but his hand closed on nothing. He pitched forward and looked blankly up at Li Hao in the sky. The young man was constantly being forced back. Could they win today?

I can only marry her if we win!

She has kept me company for so many years, but I never made her my wife.

“KILL!” A harsh growl rang among the clouds. The Flaming Phoenix Spear had never demonstrated such great spear intent!

I must win! I can only marry her if we win!

Don’t you dare lose, Li Hao! This is Silver Moon’s first battle, don’t you dare lose!

......

Within the void.

Li Hao’s tattered body swung his sword again and again. He knew!

Although he didn’t see it with his own eyes, he knew that people were going to die in this battle. They faced New Martial powerhouses, a group of heavyweights that were still alive from the ancient times. Although they’d been silent for many years, they were still formidable existences.

Who had died?

He didn’t know and didn’t want to dwell on it. The only thought in his mind was to kill the Saint in front of him, the personage that was a peerless existence!

The Earthturner Sword method focused on defense. It shielded his entire body and permitted his dao meridians to fully open. The great dao enveloped his body, but simply in defense. He’d been caught on the back foot from beginning to end.

Golden light sparkled in his eyes as he repeatedly captured the other’s trajectory—it had not begun to repeat yet!

The enemy had made hundreds of moves and struck hundreds of times, but the cycle had not begun to repeat itself. Vice Commander Han Jiang had too much experience under his belt.

When Li Hao fought Earthflare, it took about two hundred moves for repetition to occur. It took the third cycle for Li Hao to be able to injure the other. However, Han Jiang had already struck several hundred times; his moves continued to remain novel.

Was there any logic to them?

Perhaps... not.

If there wasn’t, they were doomed to lose this battle. Li Hao would absolutely die to his opponent.

Was there really no underlying basis or theory to his attacks?

A faint frown had crossed Han Jiang’s face after he sent the young man reeling again. Li Hao was very strong to still be standing after such a prolonged exchange. In addition, Zheng Gong was somehow preoccupied with a bunch of weaklings! He was even trapped in that domain of the five elements.

Han Jiang’s frown deepened after he scanned the premises. They were suffering decent losses! This was impossible to believe. They should’ve been crushing the invaders!

They were a group of Saints, Immortals, and a horde of Apexes. And yet, they weren’t dominating these new age weaklings. Although the invaders had lost a lot of people, Boundless had also suffered the deaths of several director generals and division leaders in a short period of time.

This was surreal! If this was still New Martial, this level of loss in battle would result in the army commander being executed for incompetence!

“Young city lord!” Han Jiang called out with anger. He was unable to take down Li Hao and Zheng Gong was unable to eliminate Yuan Shuo. This meant that they should change their tactics, not doggedly forge onward. Otherwise, their eventual victory wouldn’t be worth it even if they massacred the invaders.

Their losses would be too great!

A light shone in Li Hao’s eyes. The enemy had just repeated a move! The trajectory of his blade followed a path it had carved earlier!

Was this an accident, an unintentional repeat, or was it the start of the second cycle?

Li Hao watched carefully, both excited and fearful. What if this was just a simple repeat in the enemy’s overall sequence? If that was the case, he would be done for!

Han Jiang did not realize what had taken place. As a powerhouse, he was well aware that the enemy could not be permitted to predict his moves. Therefore, all powerhouses refrained from utilizing the same fixed moves. This was to avoid presenting an opening for the enemy to preempt the fight.

Therefore, he’d constantly changed his methods in his fight with Li Hao. He acted on a whim instead of following any set course.

His speed was fast, his strength immense, his reflexes quick. Li Hao could only passively defend and be wholly unable to injure his opponent. The only thing that set the young man apart was his tenacity. That made spontaneous defeat difficult to pull off.
