SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 28: The city has changed
Chapter 28 - The city has changed
Damon debated a couple of seconds between logging out first, figuring out some way to get human blood, versus finishing his world boss quest. While the former was extremely important for his real life to not blow up, the latter was important to stabilize his bloodline.
In the end, he decided to go with the quest. Strengthening his bloodline might help with his issue in real life, so it seemed like the best option at the moment.
Without any hesitation, Damon walked into the city. For a moment, he was nervous. Would his identity be exposed? After all, he had only just now created a huge uproar with his awakening. He was not sure how effective Bloodreign's cloaking was.
He walked into the gates and the two guards gave him a indifferent look before waving him in. one of them yawned and the other one scratched his butt.
Damon blinked. "That's it?"
Bloodreign chuckled in his mind. "I told you, my cloaking is flawless. Besides, these guys can't even detect a fart through chainmail."
Still, Damon remained cautious. Just because the entry guards were brain-dead didn't mean the higher-ups were, especially since the city was a lot more lively at the moment.
There were a lot more priests of the divine temple and the holy church roaming about in the city. He also recognized a few priest-class players in the mix. Damon's eyes went wide as he recognized one of them.
David!
The future top-ranked priest player in the entire game. Damon gritted his teeth in anger. This bastard alone had hunted him and his group several times in his last life, making them pay heavily with every single clash.
Damon had personally lost loot, levels, and almost dropped his bloody quest item. The man was an absolute menace. However, Damon still respected the guy because he was talented as fuck. While others used shortcuts to reach the top, this guy's path was paved by pure talent and skill.
When the man casually crossed him on the street, he half-expected David to catch him, but even the top player couldn't sense him at all.
Damon couldn't help but smile as he continued walking. But the surprises were not done yet. A moment later, he came across another familiar face.
Aurora!

The future top-ranked divine priestess!
Her stunningly beautiful face was impossible to miss and even harder to forget.
Damon halted mid-step, his eyes widening ever so slightly. Aurora. Radiant, calm, and terrifying in a divine-wrath-wrapped-in-velvet sort of way. She wasn't just a top-tier healer—she was a battlefield nuke with the smile of a saint and the heart of a tyrant.
In his past life, her name alone was enough to make several guilds tremble with fear. Damon had watched footage of her purify undead wyrms solo and obliterate entire dark factions with a wave of her glowing scepter. The woman practically shat divine essence.
And now here she was, wearing nothing but beginner robes and that same gentle smile. She was chatting with a group of NPCs by a temple fountain, completely unaware of the chaos her future self would cause.
"I guess I also changed their fates?" Damon chuckled inwardly as he walked past her. However, unlike Davind, the woman suddenly snapped to turn and look at him. For a second, Damon froze as his mind prepared for all worst-case scenarios, but the emerald eyes only casually swept over him before returning to the conversation at hand.
This woman's intuition was scary!
As he crossed her, unexpectedly, he felt a sudden pull. His blood thirst, which was pretty much controlled and at bay, all of a sudden spiked up. His tongue started salivating, and his gums ached where his fangs lay hidden.
Damon clenched his jaw hard enough to crack teeth, forcing himself to keep walking. "What the hell was that?" he muttered under his breath.
His hands were trembling slightly, his breathing shallow. He'd walked past dozens of players today—no reaction. Even David absolutely did not do anything, but with Aurora?
Just a single glance, a few feet away, and his instincts went wild. No doubt about it. Her blood was something else. Or maybe he had become a pervert attracted to beauties?
"Oooh~ someone's got tasty blood. You felt that too, didn't you? That wasn't normal hunger. That was your bloodline reacting." Bloodreign sounded equally intrigued.
"Does she have a really good bloodline?"
Bloodreign purred. "If I had to guess, she's not just a high-blood. She's probably blessed. Her soul's marinated in divine energy, and you, my king, are a creature born to consume what others revere. The holier the prey, the sweeter the flavor~"
Damon did not say anything. He remained silent as he continued walking. He was sure of one thing. All these people did not randomly pop up here. In his last life, these people were present in another corner of this fantasy world, but now they had shown up right next to him.
It was not a coincidence. All of them were definitely here to hunt him down. He was the anomaly that had changed everything and affected all of their timelines.
Especially her. If he did not deal with her soon enough, she was going to be a problem. A big, beautiful, tasty problem.
Damon cursed himself to remove his brain from the gutter, and he got out of the area as quickly as he could. He needed to visit an old farmer in the area to trigger the quest, and now it looked like he had to do everything in front of the watchful eyes of these monstrous rankers.
This was not going to end well.
