Spoiled By the Young Master After Reborn In the 80s-Chapter 885: Eight hundred eighty-three, make friends
Chapter 885: Eight hundred eighty-three, make friends
The staff member approached Luo Shu and the other two, trembling with fear as she said to Luo Shu, "Greetings, Senior! Our steward has requested your presence!" Knowing the other party’s cultivation was formidable, her heart filled with trepidation and unease. It was said that those at the Tribulation Transcendence Stage have irritable tempers, and although she had not spoken rudely before, her attitude was not particularly good. She could only hope that it wouldn’t be taken to heart.
"Sure," Luo Shu nodded.
The three followed the staff member out of the hall and into the backyard of the Combat Arena.
The backyard was filled with blooming flowers, shaded by green trees, with rockeries and lotus ponds, making for a pleasant scenery.
Guided by the staff member, Luo Shu and the others followed a cobblestone path to its end, went down a long corridor, and entered a room with a carved wooden door.
The staff member approached a room, raised her hand, and gently knocked on the door, "Steward! They have arrived!"
Her words had just ended when the door opened with a "snap!"
The steward greeted Luo Shu and her companions with a smile plastered on his face, "Please come in!" Although the other party had reigned in their aura, he could still genuinely feel their might. This was definitely a powerful figure; if not at the Tribulation Transcendence Stage, then at the very least at the Great Mahayana late stage of cultivation.
"Please take a seat," the steward said with a smile, personally pouring tea for Luo Shu and the others.
"Thank you!" Murong Bing hurriedly expressed her gratitude, feeling slightly uncomfortable inside. She knew that such treatment came only because of Luo Shu’s influence.
Luo Shu and Yang Muxue didn’t think much of it; just a serving of tea, after all. On Yuan Star, it was quite normal for a host to pour tea for their guests.
"We heard we broke the rules of the Combat Arena. How do you plan to handle this?" Luo Shu picked up her tea and took a sip, finding it quite good.
The steward waved his hand and chuckled, "The fault lies with us for not properly reminding you of our rules. I invited you here to apologize for this matter." Knowing their strength, he now only wished to curry favor with them.
Luo Shu raised an eyebrow and stood up after putting down her teacup, "There’s no need for an apology, we will head back to the Arena."
"Senior! Our young city lord of White Night City, Feng Qianyan, who owns the Combat Arena, would very much like to make your acquaintance. May I ask if it’s possible for the senior to leave contact information?" The steward respectfully inquired, his gaze filled with hopeful expectations as he looked at Luo Shu.
Luo Shu thought for a moment, "The head of the Divine Doctor Sect is my brother." The Divine Doctor Sect was within White Night City’s jurisdiction, and fostering a good relationship with the young city lord had its benefits.
Murong Bing watched Luo Shu, her eyes filled with a hint of shock. So she was with the Divine Doctor Sect. Was her earlier inquiry about joining a sect an invitation to join the Divine Doctor Sect? The Divine Doctor Sect has become highly influential lately, and it seems there’s no one on Lan Star who doesn’t know about it.
"So the senior is with the Divine Doctor Sect, my apologies for the oversight!" The steward’s demeanor became even more respectful. The Divine Doctor Sect, known for its many strong members, was now the leading sect on Lan Star. Forming good relations with them was of course most optimal.
Luo Shu smiled slightly and shook her head, "If there’s nothing else, we’ll head back to the Combat Arena."
"I’ll see you out!" The steward made an inviting gesture and smiled as he led Luo Shu and the others out the door.
Once Luo Shu and her companions had departed, the steward returned to the room, closed the door, and immediately activated a communication talisman.
"Is everything clear?" Feng Qianyan’s voice came from the other side.
"Young Master! The person is the sister of the head of the Divine Doctor Sect," the steward quickly relayed the information to Feng Qianyan.
"I see," Feng Qianyan said languidly and then cut off the communication.
Murong Bing looked at Luo Shu and, after hesitating for a while, spoke up, "Senior! When you asked me earlier if I was interested in joining a sect, were you suggesting I join the Divine Doctor Sect?" If it was the Divine Doctor Sect, she would be willing. After all, it was Lan Star’s top sect, something many cultivators dreamed of joining.
"Yes," Luo Shu nodded.
"Then... can I join now?" Murong Bing asked somewhat sheepishly. Wouldn’t this seem overly opportunistic? She had previously stated no interest, but now that she knew it was the Divine Doctor Sect, she immediately wanted to join.
"Of course!" Luo Shu agreed with a smile. Murong Bing’s alchemy skills and cultivation were not bad; given proper cultivation, her achievements would surely be extraordinary in time.
"Thank you!" Murong Bing thanked her with joy.
The three returned to the Combat Arena, and the match that was previously ongoing had ended.
Now returning to the stage was Xi Lin, who had rested. His opponent this time was not a Spirit Beast but a middle-aged cultivator with a scar across his face, looking fierce and formidable. He seemed to be a level higher in cultivation than Lin Xi.
The staff member approached Luo Shu and handed her a tray, "Senior! This is your previous winning from the bet, and this card is our Combat Arena’s VIP card, with exclusive booth number six. In the future, you can go directly to booth number six."
"Alright!" Luo Shu did not decline, taking the items from the tray. Giving her a membership card was an attempt at ingratiating themselves; she had no reason to refuse. As for using the card, it would likely not be of much use to her since she wouldn’t be staying on Lan Star for long.
Luo Shu handed the membership card to Yang Muxue, "This is more useful to you." Her mother, when idle, could come here with her father to watch matches, and perhaps come across a few cultivators with impressive aptitude to recruit into the Divine Doctor Sect.
The combat on the stage began once more. The middle-aged cultivator was a strength-based contestant. Once the referee announced the start, he launched a fierce attack against Xi Lin. Knowing Xi Lin was not an easy adversary, he sought a swift victory.
Xi Lin moved swiftly, reacting as soon as the other’s attack came toward him.
He ducked to avoid the incoming punch and at the same time, his right leg struck like lightning, aiming fast at the opponent’s lower leg.
The middle-aged cultivator was quick to react as well, stepping back to evade Xi Lin’s kick, then attacked once more.
Their exchange of blows dazzled the onlookers below, their blood surging with excitement.
Shouts of encouragement, calls for higher bets, and cheers were non-stop.
Luo Shu and Yang Muxue also placed their bets this time, sticking with Xi Lin.
Luo Shu had a high opinion of Xi Lin. She stayed at the Combat Arena because she wanted to wait until Xi Lin’s matches for the day were over, to ask him if he was interested in joining the Divine Doctor Sect.
"Boom!" Xi Lin took a solid punch from the middle-aged cultivator, stumbling back several steps, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.
Xi Lin wiped the blood from his mouth without showing any signs of panic, took a deep breath, adjusted his breath, and launched another attack towards the middle-aged cultivator.
