Spoiled By the Young Master After Reborn In the 80s-Chapter 852: Eight hundred fifty, prescription
Chapter 852: Eight hundred fifty, prescription
"That’s a mutated mosquito named for its green blood. It’s not hard to treat, I’ll write you a prescription in a moment," Luo Shu said. The Green-blooded Poisonous Mosquito belongs to the lowest level of Spirit Beasts, and its appearance in that area likely means it was raised by a True Cultivator.
"I’ll go get paper and pen right now." Professor Shen immediately stood up and hurried to the service desk. How could he wait for something like this? If it weren’t for the fact that today was his daughter’s wedding, he would want to rush back to his laboratory to carry out research as soon as he obtained the prescription from Luo Shu.
Soon, Professor Shen brought paper and pen, "Luo Shu, write it for me quickly."
Seeing Professor Shen’s anxious demeanor, Luo Shu shook her head helplessly with a smile and took the paper and pen to write.
After finishing, she handed the paper and pen back to Professor Shen.
Professor Shen received the prescription and immediately read it, eyes shining with excitement, "Luo Shu, thank you. You’ve really helped me out again." No, he had to rush back to the lab to do experiments.
"If you really want to thank me, then don’t leave until after the banquet. I don’t want Anning and Mo Shaoze to blame me later; otherwise, I won’t help you anymore," Luo Shu said playfully with a smile. She knew exactly what he was thinking just by looking at his expression.
Professor Shen touched his nose awkwardly, "I’ll do as you say, I’ll make a phone call." Now that he had the prescription, he wouldn’t even have the appetite to eat if he didn’t send it to the lab.
After making the call, Professor Shen was constantly glancing at his watch. Feeling that his colleague should have almost arrived, he stepped outside.
"Dad! Where are you going?" Seeing Professor Shen walking out, Shen Anning immediately followed. Her main task today was to keep an eye on her father to prevent him from slipping away. It had taken her a tremendous effort to pull him out from his laboratory.
"I just called a colleague to come over to take something; he should be arriving soon, I’m going out to check," Professor Shen said. If it weren’t for his daughter’s wedding, if it weren’t for having promised Luo Shu, he would really hate that he couldn’t fly back to his laboratory right now to experiment.
"No, you can’t go alone." Shen Anning called over to Mo Shaoze, who was greeting guests not far away, "Mo Shaoze, please come here."
Mo Shaoze smiled at the guests and walked towards Shen Anning and Professor Shen, "Ningning, what’s up?"
"Accompany my dad to the gate, I’m afraid he’ll run back to the laboratory," Shen Anning said.
Mo Shaoze nodded, looking at Professor Shen, "Dad! I’ll go with you."
"No need! I’m just delivering something, I’ll be back quickly," Professor Shen said, having already promised Luo Shu.
"No! You must be accompanied! You have a history of this," Shen Anning insisted. Last time, she had specially prepared a birthday party for him, and while all the guests had arrived, the main character himself was nowhere to be found, only later to discover he had forgotten the time while experimenting. There had been many such occasions, and this time she couldn’t take that risk.
Mo Shaoze accompanied Professor Shen outside, and seeing his colleague already waiting, Professor Shen quickly went forward, handed over the prescription, gave a few instructions, and then returned to the banquet hall with Mo Shaoze.
Shen Anning sighed with relief when she saw Professor Shen return.
The wedding banquet officially started at seven in the evening, and as a series of exquisite dishes were served, the guests no longer held back, eagerly picking up their chopsticks and starting to feast.
As soon as the banquet was over, Professor Shen immediately hurried back to the laboratory.
"How’s it going? Is the prescription effective against the virus?" Professor Shen asked as soon as he entered the laboratory, having high confidence in the prescription Luo Shu provided.
"What prescription?" Everyone looked at Professor Shen in surprise.
Professor Shen was taken aback, "Guo Beiling didn’t bring back the prescription?" It had been over two hours since he gave Guo Beiling the prescription; by all accounts, he should have been back by now.
"Professor Guo has not come back since he left."
Professor Shen frowned, "Could something have happened to him?"
Thinking for a moment, he looked towards Ge Tian not far away, "Ge Tian, do you know Guo Beiling’s home phone number?"
"I do," Ge Tian nodded.
"Give me the number, I’ll make a call and ask," Professor Shen said. Guo Beiling was not someone who lacked sense in his work; Professor Shen was really worried something might have happened to him.
Ge Tian quickly reported Guo Beiling’s home phone number to Professor Shen.
Professor Shen stepped aside, dialed according to the number Ge Tian gave, and an elderly-sounding woman’s voice came through, "Who are you looking for?"
"Is Guo Beiling at home? I’m his colleague," Professor Shen said.
"He’s not."
"Do you know where he is?" Professor Shen continued.
"The lab." The reply was brief, with a hint of resentment.
"Oh! Thank you!" Professor Shen thanked her and hung up the phone. He understood the source of the resentment all too well; people like them spent all day long in the lab, barely going home once in half a month, it would be strange if the family members didn’t harbor complaints.
With a resigned sigh, Professor Shen walked back to his workstation, took paper and pen, and began to recall the prescription Luo Shu gave him. Now that Guo Beiling hadn’t returned to the lab, waiting idly was not an option.
After writing down the prescription from memory, Professor Shen examined it and felt something was still missing. After careful consideration, he still couldn’t remember.
He glanced at his wristwatch and realized it was nearly eleven at night, "Luo Shu should be asleep by now, it wouldn’t be right to call at this hour." After a moment of hesitation, he gave up the idea of calling Luo Shu to ask.
Just then, the phone rang abruptly, startling Professor Shen who was contemplating the prescription.
Qin Fen nearest to the phone stood up to answer, "May I ask who you’re looking for?"
"We’re from the Public Security Bureau. Is Professor Guo Beiling from your lab?" They had found his business card on him with his identity and this phone number.
Hearing that it was a call from the Public Security Bureau, Qin Fen immediately had a bad premonition, "What happened to Professor Guo?"
"He’s dead!"
"Thud!" Qin Fen’s phone fell to the ground, disbelief in his eyes. How could he be dead?
At this thought, he quickly picked up the phone again, "How did he die?"
"The cause of death is still under investigation; if it’s convenient, please come to the Public Security Bureau."
"Okay," Qin Fen responded dryly and hung up the phone.
"Did something happen to Guo Beiling?" Seeing Qin Fen put down the phone, Professor Shen immediately asked. He had already gleaned the answer from Qin Fen’s conversation with the other party.
