Chapter 183 - 183: After the Attack

[3rd POV]

Getting them all home had only taken a few minutes, leaving the X-Men in the area by themselves, none of the parents or students being there anymore, as the parents needed time to think on whether or not they wanted to accept Gwen's huge, life changing offer. The sort of offer that could either change their lives for better or for worse.

"That went well, didn't it?" Hank commented, as Gwen made a so so motion with her hands.

"If the Shi'ar didn't try that it would have been better, but yeah, I think it went pretty well" Gwen replied, as Xavier spoke up next.

"And what do you plan on doing about the Shi'ar, if you don't mind me asking?" Xavier asked. He wasn't concerned about Gwen or anything, as she had proven herself more than capable of wiping out any invaders that could threaten the planet and its people.

"Have a...chat with their leader, hopefully without a lot of punching and beating the living snot out of members of their Empire" Gwen replied with a shrug. She wasn't really afraid of having to do this sort of thing, she would just prefer that this was done in a peaceful manner so she didn't have to deal with the very irritating implications of doing so.

"Won't that cause some...problems though? I can imagine that they won't take kindly to that sort of thing, even with my lack of knowledge on them" Artemis couldn't help but comment, the other girls were back on Earth with the students at the moment.

"Probably, but nothing I can't handle. And problem wise it would be more so in regards to the Empire's own inner politics, with his sister not being particularly fond of his rule" Gwen replied, remembering from the comics that the man would eventually be taken out, his sister becoming the new ruler of the Empire in which it would become far more peaceful and less, well, evil.

"Are you certain such a thing won't cause more of them to come here? As much as I trust in your capabilities, even you surely cannot take on an entire Empire and its forces, right?" Storm asked, as Gwen just gave her a small mysterious smile.

"Shouldn't we be worrying more about the fact that this is all about something that Jean is currently the host to? We should be trying to get this thing out of her!" Scott said, worried for his friend's safety.

Thanks to Gwen eliminating the influence on his mind that was making him act creepy and obsessive over Jean, he was no longer attracted to her at all. Instead he saw her as a good friend and that was about it. And as a friend, he was concerned for her safety with this thing inside of her.

"No, it'd be worse if we took it out, Scott. The Phoenix Force isn't the problem, the Shi'ar is. As they believe that all hosts of the Phoenix deserve to die just because they're the host of them. All because of some host they had hundreds of years ago that had gone dark and used the power for evil. Jean isn't like that, so we don't need to take it out" Gwen replied with a shake of her head, as taking it out just wasn't a good idea.

Even if they did take it out of her, it'd likely just find a host in another individual on Earth. That, and even if they did take it out, they'd still go after Jean based off of the fact that she COULD be the host, and WAS the host.

"I-alright. So what do we do about this then?" Scott asked, as Gwen chuckled.

"Nothing, I'll be taking care of any would be invaders or anything like that. Malzif as a whole is completely impossible for the Shi'ar to invade, as it would take something well beyond them to get into this city" Gwen replied, as it would take someone like Galactus or something to get into the city.

And that was without obtaining the Eye of Harmony or creating it. Once she did that, very little would be able to break into her city, with even Galactus likely struggling a bit.

"Alright then, I guess we'll just have to leave it up to you" Xavier said before anyone could continue this conversation, noticing that it could become an argument if he didn't. An argument that was going to be completely pointless in the long run.

Hearing this, the team sighed before nodding, deciding to drop that argument for now. They also didn't really want to get into an argument they knew they'd lose very easily.

"So...how do you think it's going to go on the parents' end? Like, what's the likelihood that they all want to move here after what just went down?" Bobby asked, knowing that his mom was seemingly going to move here, mostly because he wanted to, that and it was a good chance of making more money and having a safer life.

"Should be fine. I doubt they're all going to agree, but I can expect like half of them will. The others will inevitably join in once they hear about how incredible the city is from their fellow parents that did move here. And even if they don't, there are still many mutants out there to take in" Gwen replied, as she still had millions more on Earth, and then a practically infinite amount out in the multiverse to take in.

"How many exactly?" Hank asked, as he didn't actually know the number, only that there were a lot more mutants on Earth than humans knew of. Most of them were in hiding, covering themselves and remaining as hidden as they possibly could be.

"17 million, give or take a few hundred thousand" Gwen replied, knowing the exact number that there was thanks to using a few tracking spells that were strong enough to track that many people.

At the response, their eyes widened in surprise "17 million!? That's way more than what is estimated!" Hank exclaimed in shock, as the global estimation by countries was only a couple of million, not 17 million.

"Yeah well the government isn't omniscient, and mutants are pretty damn good at hiding. Unless the government got some sort of tracking technology that could keep track and monitor them, then they'll never know how many mutants there are. That or we tell them, which is not happening as that sort of thing will just be used to make mutants look even worse" Gwen replied.

Mutants were not exactly looked at kindly, especially by the governments of the world. She planned on starting her saving of mutants in various experimental facilities around the world the second the team left back to Earth, saving thousands of young mutants and bringing them to Malzif where they'd be safe.

She would be doing so under the guise of the "Shadow" as it was the best cover to use, and impossible to actually track. That, and the government and SHIELD already knows about the shadow, someone that they had been trying their best to track down, which obviously wouldn't be working anytime soon, and only when Gwen herself wanted to be found.

"I-I suppose that makes sense. I was just surprised at the number! We estimated for only 2 million to 3 million, but 17 million? That changes everything in regards to the likelihood of mutants being born, the percentage of mutants in relation to humans, and all sorts of implications!" Hank exclaimed, his eyes practically sparkling upon this new information, as it could prove to be very helpful in some of his research.

"Sure it does change it, but not enough to really matter, Hank. Had it been like a hundred million then it would be a big difference" Gwen replied with a shrug, as 1 million or 100 million, she would be recruiting and saving as many as she can either way.

"I-but-" "I think that's enough for now Hank, it's time we get back and speak with the parents and students about this potential change, alright?" Xavier said, cutting the man off before he could go on a rant. The blue skinned mutant looked at Xavier for a few moments before sighing and nodding.

"Alright professor" Hank said, as Xavier chuckled before looking back at Gwen.

"Go ahead and send us back, Gwen. And...I do hope this all goes well" Xavier said as Gwen smiled, before creating a portal, the group walking through, leaving Gwen alone, as Artemis and Jean decided to head on through for now.

Seeing that she was alone, Gwen looked off into the distance before smiling, and speaking to herself as she teleported off.

"Time to meet with the Brotherhood!"

That's the end of the Chapter!

Basically just another intermission Chapter before she meets with the Brotherhood and more and more stuff begins to go down.

Not sure how well this Chapter was made, as I am...tired AF right now as of writing this (late at night). Next Chapter will be better, and potentially longer as well.

Anyways, have a good day!
