SEX WITH MY BEST FRIEND'S FIANCÉ-Chapter 164
Chapter 164: Chapter 164
- KILLIAN -
I ring the door bell. Getting into the estate she lives in was not hard at all considering I have already been here once. Or have I? I can’t remember but I do know I’ve sent her a gift before. One she might be receiving sometime soon again. Maybe this time, it’ll be her own body parts iced.
I wait patiently outside the door for a response. There wasn’t any. Fuck this.
My hand clothed in leather gloves holds onto the door knob and breaks it open.
Would you look at that? An open invitation? Who am I to decline?
A satisfied smirk paints my lips as I push the door open, walking in. Inside the house is dark. I keep heading in, exploring the darkness. I don’t need any source of illumination to know that I’m standing in the living room. It’s pretty obvious from the density of the atmosphere. I also can tell where every furniture is placed with ninety nine percent accuracy along with the fact that there are people in here.
I take careful steps to a nearby wall, trailing my fingers down its plane while searching for a light switch. My fingers land on one. I flick it on. The living room doesn’t light up one bit. I flick my finger back and forth, turning the switch on and off. Nothing changes with the lights.
This is when I know something is up. I take gentle steps away from the wall, keeping the sound of my feet as it hits the floor silent. There is more than one person occupying this room.
My hand makes its way to my gun strap around my waist while the other grabs onto my zippo. I take my gun out along with my zippo. A silencer is always attached to my gun so this should be interesting.
“You know I can hear you breathe, so there’s no point to hiding, right?” I say, taking careful steps forward in a circular axis. There are two people at both ends of the room. Both of them are with guns. I don’t have to see them to notice the change in their movements.
One of them is loading their gun and the other is about to creep out of their hiding spot. Pretty stupid move if you ask me. I don’t know what the hell is going on here tonight but where the fuck is Asami?
Is this one of her little games? Was my arrival anticipated? I guess I’ll find out after taking care of these two. I take another step forward.
My earlier conclusion dissolves, this doesn’t seem like a game. Whoever are at both ends of the room, from their movement, plan to launch at each other. I just happen to be at the center.
Well, there’s no use backing away now.
“Well,” I start, rolling my gun in my hand. “Greetings to you both.”
I feel the immediate shift in the air as feet turns on the floor. Standing still at the center, I hold my zippo in front of me. One of them is aiming towards me from the left. Say bye bye.
My finger whisks on the flint wheel, turning it on. Orangish blue flame evolves out of my zippo in a straight line, giving me a decent view of my environment. . . As well as a view of the person mid way in the air with a knife drawn across its chest. Yes, it, I don’t know the gender of the person and I won’t bother to assume it.
I hold my gun out, pointing it right at the center of the person’s head. Masked on the face till only the eyes are in sight, and dressed in a black, comfortable body suit is, I let my eyes study the form of the human swiftly from head to toe, a grimace forms on my face immediately, a woman.
I fire, shooting a bullet out of my gun.
An inexperienced female assassin. I know that because of these amateur movements and launch.
Due to the effect of the bullet, her body falls back in the opposite direction of her initial position. I reach out, staying light on my feet, to grab onto the dead weight. Once I have a firm grip on her form, I let her rest on the ground. The wound on her forehead is bleeding. I let out a sigh. I didn’t let her body land in the floor carelessly so not to attract suspicion and attention from her companions. One thing for sure is whoever is in here will be sure to perceive blood. I should anticipate coming across more people.
“Peace be to you.” I whisper under my breath to the lady, closing her eyes with a gentle flick of my fingers on her face. I wish I didn’t have to kill her, but if I didn’t, she would attempt to end my life. I avert my gaze forward. I can hear creaks of wooden floors as people run along them. I know there are more of them in this building and I can only wonder why but that is not the main objective right now. Despite the door being wide open, more of these people could be situated outside so neither me nor anything in my possession is free from attack.
Damn, Asami! I curse.
Well, whoever is here, no matter who they are, the moment I stepped into this place was the beginning of their death. I’ve gone one on five on assassins before in this city and I came out victorious. Wounded, but victorious. And I’ll be sure to do so again.
I hear the sound of quiet movements as a body lunges up the ground, seeking stamina on a wall while running ahead, towards me. This person is also unwise, I can tell every shift of the objects in this room by the second. I’ll let him or her come.
Just when I feel the swift brush of air behind me, I turn, pointing my gun out. Why do these people think it’s reasonable to make mid air attack? Don’t they know it’s harder to get stamina when stuck in the air if they’re not experienced enough to manoeuvre?
“Ally or foe?” I ask, giving this person time to pick up a pace. It’ll get boring if it’s this easy to murder. The person doesn’t say a word. A smirk forms on my face. It’s okay, I’ll help answer. “Foe.” Another bullet fires out my gun. Just as the body before me descends to the ground, another one springs from behind me.
Smart. Just not when they’re bringing knives to a gun fight. With my current pose, grabbing onto the neck of this person won’t be a problem but that could lead to my hand being cut off.
I cannot afford that big of a scratch to dent my beautiful skin. I throw my pistol to my other hand, swapping my zippo between fingers, catching both interchanged items swiftly then fire another bullet. This one lands straight into the chest on her left and she falls to the ground.
I miscalculated. There were three people in the room not two. I have to be on guard.
I dip my hand into the bullet strap on my waist, loading my gun while sticking to the corners of the wall and hiding behind big, thick, long objects. They’re great substitutes for bullet proof vests.
Someone is approaching me. Another dead man. My eyes close voluntarily as I take a deep breath, ready to launch another kill when a voice slid in my ears.
“Don’t shoot, it’s me!” Asami’s exasperated voice resounds in my ears. My jaw tightens. I don’t know what game she’s playing but I let her come to me. Maybe she can be of aid if she didn’t orchestrate this charade.
Asami stands by my side, loading a sniper. I roll my eyes. “You know you can’t get a good target up close with that.” I say.
“I know.” She breaths, strapping it over her shoulder. “Which I why I need to get on the roof.” She adds, panting. I can tell she’s been busy.
“Care to give me a brief summary of what’s going on?” Adding ‘brief’ and ‘summary’ should be an unsaid crime but if I don’t say that hand in hand, Asami might give me a long ass speech. I keep guard, staring ahead while examining my environment.
“S is after me. Long story short.” I can tell she raises her hand backwards to tie her hair while carrying the sniper’s weight on her shoulders. “He doesn’t want me dead, but I’m sure this ploy is a warning.”
What could she have possibly done to have her own ally go against her this way? Should that even be a question? Asami’s whole being is infuriating.
“I should let you know I’ve killed three.”
“I know, I led them your way the moment I saw your vehicle pull up.”
This crooked bitch.
“I needed time to reload. You do come in handy after all.” Double taps on my arm makes me on edge. For all I know, her palm could be laced with poison, it’s not past her. “Help me take them out quietly and maybe we can discuss your purpose for being here.”
Where is Owen? Isn’t he on Asami’s side?
“There are fourteen people in total. I’ve taken down five, and you, three.”
“Five? You’re either getting rusty or they just arrived.” I have to say her giving me a count is very useful.
“It’s harder to fight at full strength when you’re still recovering.” Asami adds. I’m under no obligation to help her. I don’t even want to. “You rough handled me down the stairs, remember? I barely survived but you’re welcome.”
Should I sympathise? I don’t think so. Maybe if the situation was different and she wasn’t preying on Hazel, I would’ve.
“Be sure to meet me at the driveway when you’re done.”
“Roger.” She speeds forward, going into the shadows she emerged from.
Are we doing this? I ask myself, staring at the pistol in my hand. I guess I just have to keep myself alive without playing a major role.
I rest my back on the wall. It’s quite unnerving amateurs were sent on a death mission on purpose just to teach his staff a lesson. S doesn’t care about whose life must be eliminated to have his way. Which is why I should be more concerned he knows about Hazel.
I take a deep breath. He won’t touch her though. He can’t. Not per the printed document that binds us together. Everything under my care is forbidden to be tampered with whether by unfiltered emotions or a preceding event that leaves both parties at war. Not during the duration of the contract.
So for now, Hazel is off limits. Let out an exhale. For now, I remind myself. All the more reason to keep being a step closer to uncovering They’s identity.
[ They refers to S ]
