Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer-Chapter 944: Reckonizer
Many minutes had gone by, and Xu Feng noticed the player count had dwindled to 119.
A total of 31 players were eliminated, and he reckoned the numbers would only increase exponentially.
'Hmm, it seems like Carmen is already engaged in multiple battles.' Xu Feng furrowed his brows as he could sense the link in the Ethereal Tether being used.
He was taking damage despite not being in battle, which meant that Carmen was healing. However, the damage he took was very trivial.
In other words, Carmen was just slightly harmed in her battle and to ensure absolute safety, she purposely kept her health points maxed.
He supported such action because one could never be too sure in a battle royale environment. Even fellow guildmates could potentially turn into enemies.
After all, the System didn't recognize any parties or team-ups.
Usually, in a battle royale environment, there may be a range of modes such as Solo, Duo, Trio, or Squad which means four people. But in this battle royale event, there was no such thing, which officially defaulted them to Solo.
More importantly, the System only recognized the end of the first round when player count reached 50.
To summarize, as long as 100 players were eliminated, that would be the final. The System didn't care whether the remaining 50 hailed from the same affiliation or not.
Just when Xu Feng was about to trace the link of the Ethereal Tether, his eyes suddenly narrowed. Without hesitation, he increased his agility and dashed away from his initial position.
Sure enough, a large bolt of lightning struck at his initial position.
Following after was a round of bullets firing from a distance, prompting Xu Feng to cast a barrier to deflect the bullets.
He didn't attempt to dodge the attack because that was the objective his enemies were hoping for him to do.
After all, in front of him was an Assassin camping on top of the tree branch, covered in leaves.
Had he attempted to dodge the attack by sidestepping, the Assassin would have gotten a clean opening to deal a lethal blow at him.
"Oh, this healer is pretty slippery." A Sorcerer player emerged from the bushes and snickered.
"Slippery or not, it's still our Driftcore's prey." Another person came out from the bushes.
'A Gunner and Sorcerer huh.' Xu Feng sneered inwardly. These two were really playing a good role. They appeared arrogant and revealed their affiliation. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
At first glance, one might wonder if they were retarded to speak so much nonsense. But Xu Feng knew they weren't dumb by any means.
In fact, they had become wary of his perception to detect danger and react in time. Since every participant in the battle royale was an elite of their own, it would be ridiculous for these Driftcore elites to think he was some easy lamb for the chopping.
'They wanted to bait me into having fear or possibly talk to let their Assassin teammate have an opening.' Having figured out their ploy, Xu Feng might as well play along and use it to his advantage.
Nevertheless, he didn't dare to underestimate them because the numbers were against him.
3 against 1, and all three were heavy DPS classes. As a healer with very weak defenses, it would be difficult to confront them.
"Driftcore players?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow and asked cautiously. "Why are you targeting me? We're the same alliance."
"Same alliance?" The Sorcerer player looked at him funny. "We never had a healer like you in our guild."
"No, but I'm with the Malefic Order Guild." Xu Feng scoffed. "I was invited by CarnageBound and Evelyn. I'm now heading toward them to regroup. Of course, you can try to harm me, but can you handle the consequences later on?"
Upon hearing that, the Sorcerer player frowned.
Besides him was the Gunner player who whispered, "ViciouSorc, if he's really with CarnageBound, then won't we be reprimanded?"
"Do you think he's capping, Mentos?" ViciouSorc asked.
Mentos shook his head. "If he's really capping, then that's just asking for major trouble once he's exposed. Also, he got a Stealth Cloak prepared as well, which meant he should have some influence."
Nodding, ViciouSorc found Mentos' words to be reasonable. In the end, he decided to make some hand signals toward their hidden comrade, Husan, who was the Assassin in hiding. His job was to eliminate Xu Feng as long as there was anything amiss.
Naturally, the hand signal was caught by Xu Feng, but he feigned ignorance about it.
Instead, he crossed his arms and put on an air of arrogance.
Since he was going to play the role of someone connected with CarnageBound, then he must be arrogant and cocky. Otherwise, the opposing parties would find it suspicious.
Sometime later, ViciouSorc inquired, "May I ask what your name is?"
"Reckonizer." Xu Feng flatly responded.
"Reckoner?"
"No, that's a brother of mine. Reckoner is a Gunner, but I'm a healer. How can I be Reckoner? How outdated is your information?"
"Ah, I see. I remember wrongly."
ViciouSorc held a bitter smile, but deep down, he was actually testing Xu Feng. Naturally, he knew about Reckoner but he never heard of Reckonizer.
'Is this another one of those hidden rankers from the Malefic Order Guild?' ViciouSorc wondered silently. It wasn't a secret that the Malefic Order Guild had discreetly trained a group of rankers while having them scattered across the world without revealing their association with them.
Hence, ViciouSorc was a bit surprised when Xu Feng claimed to be associated with them.
However, given the extraordinary circumstances regarding the trial, it wasn't hard to believe that Xu Feng might have been forced to expose subtly.
Moreover, they hailed from Driftcore and their alliance with Malefic Order Guild was a secret. Unless one was a higher-up and eligible to access the information, it was nearly impossible for Xu Feng to know.
'Thank you, Evelyn. Your information has already proven useful.' Xu Feng sneered inwardly as he noticed ViciouSorc had begun to lower his guard.
After all, there was indeed a healer called Reckonizer involved in the trial.
