Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 75: Asshole Mode Activated
Chapter 75: Asshole Mode Activated
"I left them to you," Nero grinned, hopping on his shoulders.
She was talking about the guards who stood completely unscratched.
"You are the best," Jung exclaimed, cheerful about Nero’s actions.
He didn’t like the guild leader and killed him not to waste time on him.
Letting him watch his guild crumble before his eyes was enough of a punishment.
Besides, it wasn’t like Jung wouldn’t see him anymore.
Then he neared the guys. One was a blue-shirted wizard, and the other was a creator swordsman.
Both of them were defeated in this battle, just like the rest of their guild representatives.
It was total annihilation—calling it a fair fight would be straight-up lying, as it was more of a bullying than a battle with two sides.
So these guards fell to their knees. They felt responsible for bringing Jung and the cat inside.
It was an honest mistake orchestrated by Jung, who understood his popularity mixed with status and used it splendidly.
The Poker Bros guild collected gamers from various backgrounds, and their main activities were limited to various shady businesses, including player and NPC slaying, kill-stealing, theft, and more.
Balatro, at least in the public eye, was notorious and not so fair, as he effortlessly murdered players without batting an eye.
All in all, they underestimated his daring capabilities, and it was the result they got.
They lost this grand battle, one that would easily count as the biggest players’ massacre.
The history was written, and it was a shameful situation, especially when their opponent was one person... and a cat.
Seeing their dejected expressions, Jung’s asshole side was activated.
"You guys are so pathetic," he said mockingly.
"Even someone like me feels sorry for you, and I am just a game mechanic—nothing but a bunch of codes, yet I still beat your sorry asses."
He was shaking his head in disappointment, but his eyes were sparkling with smugness.
"Shut up!" shouted the wizard player, anger rising in his voice. "You are an NPC and nothing more. Every time we die, we resurrect, but the same principle wouldn’t work on you. If you die, you are dead. Forever."
It was hard to say what he was trying to achieve. Was it a threat? An attempt to scare him? Or just an angry man rambling without thinking?
No matter which one it was, Jung couldn’t tell.
Yet, he liked his reaction. It was sadistic, but he enjoyed annoying players, especially when he knew they were wrong, and when the truth came to light, he would be the last one laughing.
So, to save pleasure for his future self, Jung ignored him and watched the swordsman.
The man was a pleasant speaker, and Jung quite liked his time with him.
But it was a shallow emotion.
There was no depth in their relationship, and Jung was going to kill him from the very beginning.
Contrary to Jung’s expectations, this creator player said nothing. Clenching his teeth together, he glared at Jung with malice.
"I like the look on your face," he said, patting the man’s shoulder.
Before the player could struggle or spit on him, Jung smacked his head, just as Nero would have.
This hit generated air pressure and made the creator hit his forehead on the ground.
Thankfully, Jung controlled his strength and didn’t kill him on the spot.
It would have been too soon. He had one more thing to say.
"Your faces are telling me you guys want revenge."
Jung stated, but his words were met with silence.
"Am I right or not?" he repeated, noticing a glare in both of their eyes, he knew he was on the right track.
"I guess you can’t even admit your thirst for revenge," then he challenged, making them feel like shit.
"You will die," the wizard guy promised again, his rough voice still present.
"Poker Bros guild will hunt you at the end of the world. We will find you and make you regret it," spat the creator, instantly disappointing Jung with his third-rate villainous speech.
Hearing these intimidations, Jung only smiled. This was the end of the conversation, the end of the line he wanted to create.
"But there is no Poker Bros anymore," Jung said, acting confused, and before the men reprimanded him, he added, "I am going to meet you guys on your spawn points. See ya."
Now, this was the correct way of scaring people.
As soon as his words registered in their minds, both of them understood the meaning behind them and lost colour in their faces, but Jung didn’t let them marinate in their feelings—forming sharp daggers in his hands, he slashed their necks almost at the same time.
Blood splattered on the ground and joined the other juice pools.
"That felt good," Jung said, glancing around.
He had collected all the taming pills from the 4969 players they killed.
It was a huge figure, definitely a number no one had ever slain before in gaming history in such a short amount of time.
Corpses were everywhere, and Jung knew Nero was waiting to remove the curse as soon as possible.
Shifting Cloud triggered, and he devoured the bodies and checked one of the most important counters.
[Truth Lantern] Tier I
Progress: 470/1000
"Sad Jung noises," Jung said.
Players didn’t count as kills. They were more useless than they appeared.
He had predicted this way before, but seeing it with his own eyes saddened him for a bit.
This calculation contained 468 goblins and two humans.
One was Gwen—a traitorous teacher, and the second was Astra—the Chosen Asshole.
"Give me that! Give them to me!" Nero scratched his face, asking for taming pills.
"No... It’s too early." Jung said, brawling with her. "We need to collect more. It won’t be enough."
"Nooooo." The cat didn’t give up easily and threw a punch at him. "Hand over!"
Because of this disagreement, they fought like children, biting and slapping one another.
"Get your smelly mouth away from my royal tail." Nero meowed angrily.
"You know I won’t give up," Jung said and bit Nero again. "You should tell her ass well."
He also tried to involve the system, which was a risky move, but she agreed with him.
[Nero, my dear, even if you started eating them, you wouldn’t be able to finish them for another three to four hours.] Vex said in a motherly tone.
Only her words could calm her down.
Lowering her head, Nero went silent and stood all alone.
As for Jung, he had more numbers to check, including Shifting Cloud progress, and his player killing quest progress.
He chose the Arc, summoned the system panel, and gasped in surprise.
