Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 64: Two Axe
Chapter 64: Two Axe
[You have five minutes remaining,] the system announced.
"Shit!" Jung said and straining his muscles and mind, he became even faster. "But I will make it in time."
His lips hurt, but no longer bled.
Revolt Blood still thrived deep inside him and sealed almost every wound.
Then, his view increased even further.
His pupils grew in size, catching even more light particles and seeing the world around him in slow motion.
The goblin’s blow spurred him into action.
A black, forceful, and almost divine axe materialized in his second hand.
Fearing that his coordination and strength would fall short, and he would be at a disadvantage, Jung had never used this combination.
Nevertheless, the tides had changed.
He was more confident, strong, and filled with various abilities that expanded his overall prowess.
Jung clanked his two weapons together, and showcasing his attitude towards the chief, he arrived before the beast.
Intending to smash Jung, the goblin swung his weapon vertically while expecting his comeback.
Jung saw his intention.
He didn’t try to dodge it this time, and bringing axes together, he altered the trajectory of the swipe, ultimately saving his head.
The staff crashed into the ground, and vibrations made his hands tremble.
It lasted only for a second, but Jung was content with that.
While the goblin struggled to summon strength in his wrists, Jung was upon him once again, and jumping towards his chest, the boy barraged it with the axes, deepening its wounds.
Painful screams echoed across the battlefield.
The rotten flesh around them stirred but subsided soon enough.
The trembling stopped, but the goblin chief’s eyes were bloodshot from anger.
Of course, he would be furious.
He was a lofty being.
Controlling the entire Scar and cultivating his species was the reason for his proud nature.
But one day, challenging his status, a weak human child appeared.
The boss monster had been poised and smug, not fearful of his opponent.
Yet, his resolve shook this instant.
Because of the kid he underestimated, he sustained injuries he didn’t expect.
The tear on his chest ached, and blood splattered rapidly, which would definitely leave a new scar on his lustrous body.
Then he roared again and jabbed towards Jung.
"Brainless idiot..." Jung said calmly. He was ready for everything the goblin might use against him.
Rotating on the back foot and balancing himself, Jung delivered another sweeping blow.
Since he was at a height disadvantage, Jung had to jump most of the time, but in this instance, he aimed at its knees.
Jung was faster yet again, but gritting his teeth, the goblin fought against the pain and continued his attack.
Knowing that something like this would happen, Jung calculated how far he needed to sidestep and slash again.
His observation proved to be correct, and as soon as the goblin’s fist missed the mark, Jung didn’t wait for his chance and double-chopped in the same place.
As for the chief, he was falling on his knees, lowering his body for Jung to strike with even more force.
However, the beast was powerless to stop him, and Jung’s axes deepened the wounds.
[Only two minutes remain until both of you are forced to leave this place. The Scar will do it, and there is nothing I can do,] Vex said urgently.
Jung hacked in quick succession and said calmly, "I’m gonna be done in one minute."
After saying that, he glanced at Nero, who was even more merciless than him. There were rivers and lakes of blood on her path.
The liquid never touched her, but the piles of corpses proved how fearsome she truly was.
Seeing she was having a great time, Jung smirked at the goblin and said, not caring even if it couldn’t understand him. "Who is grinning now, huh?"
As Jung was about to deal devastating damage to his opponent, he activated Shifting Cloud and devoured dead bodies around him.
It was like a source of energy, a placebo that filled him with warmth and pushed his counter slightly.
Additionally, Jung’s inventory absorbed pills around him, almost filling it to the brim.
He, on the other hand, delivered his most powerful strikes one after another.
Every time the goblin struggled or tried to catch him, he was always quicker, and finally, after countless attempts, Jung cleaved through the thick muscle the goblin was protected with.
Even more dark-coloured blood splashed at him.
Jung smelt its odour and was hurt by it.
"At least it’s dying," he said, watching the boss monster as life was leaving from its eyes.
Sighing, Jung glanced at the battlefield and saw Nero, who was waiting for him.
She had slaughtered all those goblins without a single remaining survivor.
"It felt good, right?" Jung asked as he took the Tier VII pill from the ruler beast.
Nero casually hopped on his shoulder and said, "It was hella entertaining."
Smirking at his comment, Jung eyed the system notification.
[30 seconds before you are kicked out.]
[29 seconds.]
[28.]
...
...
Jung watched as the seconds ticked by.
He was about to go back into the real world, but he had no idea what awaited him.
Who would he encounter first, Gwen or Astra? Or maybe both of them at the same time.
But no matter who it was, Jung didn’t have to run.
His progress was substantial for him to slay the traitor and add the Chosen One on the side.
[3... 2... 1...]
[Ding!]
[The time limit is up.]
[You are going back to Maskera.]
The system’s robotic voice was like an old recording in his ear.
After hearing her talk, Jung’s vision darkened, and he felt like something swallowed him whole.
It lasted only a minute, and when he opened his eyes and his senses were back, he was in a familiar environment.
Surrounded by lightless walls, Jung was back in the cave.
The Scar that was tearing dimensions was crumbling into colourful particles, creating spectacular patterns.
"We are back," Nero said in relief.
The ugliness and dreadful feelings affected her spirit.
Thankfully, she left that space, and her mood improved.
Jung smiled.
He was glad to be back, and as he was about to reach for rebel pills, he noticed movement in the distance.
He grinned fiercely and said, "Wow, I wasn’t expecting to meet two bitches at the same time."
As soon as he finished his words, two silhouettes appeared, belonging to Leora and Gwen.
[Ding!]
The system was unusually talkative and presented quests, asking Jung to kill only one of them.
