Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 113: Confusion, Lose and Act
Chapter 113: Confusion, Lose and Act
Confused by Sami’s changed personality, Jung neared the god, extending his hand.
"Give me," he said, waving his hands.
"You don’t even know what I am talking about. Don’t act like an asshole with me. I’m not your friend, kiddo."
"Here he goes," Ori said. "He is back."
"What’s wrong with him? Why is he suddenly speaking that way?" Jung asked.
"It happens every time he is done with his work. The reason is unknown even to me, but his temperament flips the moment he creates something as if his entire concentration had been occupied before," the sage god explained.
"Can you stop blubbering about me when I am standing here?" Sami scolded, massaging his forehead, he ordered, "Come here before it’s too late."
Jung closed the distance right away, appearing before the man.
"What is it? What are you plotting?" he asked with a hint of irony and interest.
Instead of answering, the creator god touched his own leg and applied pressure with his fingers.
Before anyone could question his actions, he said aloud,
"This is my present for looking after them."
Then the strength was increased in his hands, and his leg was torn, tearing into two pieces.
Players screamed; Nero took two steps behind, afraid that blood would smear her clean fur, yet no liquid came from his flesh.
’Gods do not bleed,’ Jung mused, never taking his eyes off Sami.
The man had two pieces of flesh in his hand, and no scream or pain left his face, as if he felt nothing upon tearing his leg apart.
"Looks delicious, right?" he said in his curious manner.
His saying that Jung looked after them still lingered in Jung’s mind, occupying a spot that was searching for the answers.
However, the creator decided to lead the show.
"You need to devour something. No chance I would give you my life, even if my brother taught me how to do that. But this is something only I can do, and by creating the greatest ’corpse’ for you to feast on, you might actually chat with him."
He was talking about the Shifting Cloud as he darted his eyes between Jung and his brother, suggesting that Ori was part of the reason he knew what Jung needed.
To answer his generosity, he flipped the middle finger and said,
"What makes you think I want to eat your smelly leg? And why is it in two pieces?"
Sami smirked at his words, expecting this question.
"We know more than you think we know. You will eat my smelly flesh by your own judgment; I don’t even need to force you. As for the second half of the pie, it’s not for you."
"These brothers... I underestimated them because of how weirdly they acted, and I let my guard down. Of course, they know my plans, my past, and secrets, but what was the point of feigning ignorance?"
His statement was aimed at the system, who worked with her brothers.
[Bold of you to assume I would have taken your side. But it’s not like we are doing something against you. For these to work, you needed to open your heart and grant them a path in your mind.]
These siblings plotted well against him.
As much as he was disappointed, Jung didn’t feel betrayed or angry, and knowing where they were coming from, he laughed.
’But I opened my heart? There is no way.’
He doubted how it could have happened, but instead of dwelling on something he couldn’t explain, he transferred his concentration to the matter at hand.
"So," he started, tapping his fingers on his chin. "Do I need to eat it raw, or can I roast it? As much as I love juicy meat, I am not a fan of unprepared human meat."
Then he glanced at Ori, pleading for him to make a barbecue out of his brother’s flesh.
The entire situation was bizarre for players.
Even Jung was quite amused, considering that he didn’t really like the fact that he was going to devour something that he had never tasted before.
If he or Shifting Cloud had sufficiently evolved, he wouldn’t have had to eat it.
He could just trigger the Arc and devour it like any other corpse.
Unfortunately, the god was another case, especially a living one who offered it himself.
"Take a bite and see for yourself. It’s good on its own," Sami said proudly.
Finally, after taking the meat offered, Jung brought it to his mouth.
It didn’t have a smell, nor a meaty texture, yet it seemed familiar and repulsive, making his heart beat faster than ever.
It was only half of the leg, but it was big enough for his hands to hold.
So he had to carry it carefully so as not to drop it.
Thinking about what reaction others might have if he did so caused his lips to move upwards.
This kind of new experience was something he was searching for, and it was delivered straight into his hands.
Now it was his turn to put it into his stomach.
"Here I go!" he cheered, biting the flesh.
The awaited taste and disgust didn’t arrive, bringing questions to his head as he took another bite.
"It’s like a dried snack."
His cheering voice deepened, and Jung nibbled the meat before a sudden revelation appeared in his head.
"Wait."
He stopped eating it, looked at the people around him, and pointed a finger at the brothers.
"Both of you are tortoises, right? That’s why the taste is familiar. I’ve eaten your kind once, and it was an unforgivable experience, but how come you guys are turtles?"
Then another idea struck his mind.
"Don’t tell me you are a turtle as well?" he asked Vex, shrugging his shoulders.
[That’s not how it works,] the system answered, but her brothers explained.
"We weren’t born as sea turtles. We were humans once, long ago, when the calamity descended and the moon changed colour," said the creator god.
"Our nature depends on the realms. In some, we are foxes, but in the ruler’s domain, we gods became turtles even if we don’t change our outer appearance," the sage continued.
[You love jumping to conclusions and always end up making a fool of yourself.]
The system scolded him as usual, along with a touch of mockery.
"Nah, I am good... You know I love tomfoolery."
After getting confirmation from three different angles, Jung glanced back at his lunch, nibbling it deliciously.
Now that he knew he was eating a proper protein-filled meal, his enjoyment advanced.
Still, the bizarreness remained as he was devouring the god, no matter whether it was human or an animal in his current state.
He wasn’t too concerned and finished his food with no complaints.
Suddenly, his vision went black, and Jung lost awareness.
...
...
The headache that had never left his head since arriving in this realm assaulted him with tenfold enhanced intensity.
"I feel like shit."
"Because you are one," Nero’s soft but rude voice reverberated around him.
He heard from every direction as if his entire body collected sound vibrations for him to better feel the world.
It was his brain mixing something, erring because the cat exclusively spoke in his head.
Another voice rang too, startling him awake.
Opening his eyes, Jung darted them in search of...
’What was I looking for?’ he asked himself.
Then the light was delivered into his vision, providing clarity that allowed him to remember what he was doing before.
"I ate the meat to evolve my Arc. I wonder how it went."
Everyone was with him.
Players, gods, Nero, and Leora still lingered beside him, not leaving his sorry ass.
He rose from the ground, clutching his heart.
The unexplainable absence invaded his heart as if he had lost something or someone, leaving him with pain and confusion.
"What is it? Who is it?" he asked again.
"You are acting weird. Stop wasting time and let’s go," Nero said to him, as she was the only one who could hear his rumblings.
"I guess you are right."
Jung massaged his temples and rose from the ground, completely forgetting that he had a status window to check.

It was only part of the panels he missed.
"Your legs became wobbly, and you lost consciousness. Thankfully, you look better," the sage god said with a worried expression.
The creator put his hands around Jung’s neck in a friendly way, leading him on the path.
"Let’s get going. We don’t want to get lost."
Jung nodded, quickening his pace.
"Thanks."
Peering at the players, he found HugeP and ordered, "We are moving. Our long journey will end today."
Hearing his promise, they cheered in excitement.
"I hate this boring mountain."
"Maybe I can finally log off to meet my family."
"This is a dream come true. I have so many questions and things to do when we go back to Maskera."
They chanted their thoughts, following Jung behind.
The more Jung walked, the bigger the mountain peak appeared, and as it got closer, the harder it became for him to bear the excessive headache.
He was no stranger to the pain, but it was something far beyond his capacity to handle.
Hours went by, and his heart was empty.
The only solace was the dark peak that gave him the strength to take another step.
Even though the weapons were forgotten, he didn’t spend time examining them and arriving before the dark cloud where a huge black wall blocked his way and view, Jung grinned evilly.
He also felt how the gods stared at him, widening his smile even further.
’I should keep up with my act,’ reminding himself, Jung bashed at the door, intending to break it down.
