Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 192: Shark Fin
The flaming fist struck Aaron square on his face, it was so sudden and impactful, that he didn't know he was punched until he had been sent flying.
*PONG!*
The sound of metal hitting metal echoed out as Aaron flew backward with a bloody nose, a split lower lip, and a red hot face.
His momentum died and he hit the ground. Due to his weight, he immediately carved a long fissure into the ground as he tried to stop himself from moving.
Zed, Zod, and Aeon looked back with shock evident in their eyes, they hadn't expected what happened to actually happen.
Yet, none of them moved to help Aaron, not even his father. They all slowly turned to look at Kael creepily.
This was unexpected indeed, they had assumed Kael would probably be scared since he was outnumbered and outmatched.
But no, Kael had actually struck Aaron, it was like he had been waiting for Aarn to get close enough so that he could do that.
Meanwhile, Kael flexed his wrist, feeling how his knuckles were experiencing some slight aches because of that punch.
"He's harder than I thought," Kael muttered, his telepathic voice reaching the minds of everyone including Chloe who looked like she had seen a ghost.
"What are you doing?" Chloe asked, panicking. This wasn't a fight that they could win, even if they joined forces. She herself was still a tier 3 lioness, what could she do here?
"They were intending on killing us anyway, might as well make them work for it," Kael said.
Then he took a step forward. As soon as his foot landed on the ground, the atmosphere changed.
The air was blown away and the few dried grass tilted heavily away from him.
Zed and Zod's hair fluttered slightly from the sudden harsh wind.
Kael waved his hand to his back, releasing a stream of magic energy that surged toward Chloe. She didn't resist, she was too shocked to think of resisting.
She was about to confirm what Kael had done when the matter escalated beyond redemption.
"FINALLY!" Zed shouted with a crazed smile. Gold lightning surged out from his eyes and around his body, electrifying the air around them.
All Kael saw was Zed lean forward before he completely disappeared.
*BOOM!*
A shimmering blue magic barrier automatically erupted around Kael instantly as Zed's shoulder collided with the barrier.
Kael felt a powerful force pass through his body, the kinetic energy that Zed produced was simply terrifying.
The magic barrier protected him but the defense was only momentary. That same second, cracks spread all over.
At the same time, Kael was launched off his feet along with the whole spherical magic barrier.
Just because Zed was blocked by the barrier didn't mean he would stop running. He screamed wildly as he pushed Kael and the whole barrier away, sending him sliding along the ground and creating a long furrow in the ground.
Chloe turned her head from back to front, sensing danger, only for her to see a water whip heading straight for her head.
*BAM!*
A red magic barrier appeared around her just in time to block the water whip.
Unlike Kael's barrier, this red one didn't crack. The amount of magic energy making up this single barrier was vastly more compared to the magic energy making up Kael's barrier.
"Look at that, he poured almost all his energy into protecting this one. Is this love? hehehe!" Aeon said with a mocking smile.
Zod remained silent, he stared into the distance, looking at the rapidly shrinking figure of his brother and Kael as they fought into the horizon.
Zod didn't know why but he felt that Kael was dangerous, too dangerous to let his brother fight him alone.
"That one is the most dangerous one," Zod said, he didn't even give a second glance to Chloe.
Zod crouched and leaned forward slightly, the pair of wings attached to his ankles and wrists unfolded and the wind picked up.
Chloe blinked and before she knew it, Zod had disappeared, rushing off into the distance to join his brother in taking down Kael as swiftly as possible.
Aeon looked at Chloe, then at the figures that were increasingly getting farther and farther away.
*Sigh*
"Don't feel bad okay, he's way more important than you that's why I can't give you my attention," Aeon said, adding a sympathetic tone to his voice.
He was actually asking for forgiveness from Chloe for not being the one to kill her.
Chloe breathed a sigh of relief, she found it extremely ironic, especially with the fact that most sharks are cold-blooded psychopathic killers who could barely feel anything for each other, and talk less of another being.
"Aaron, why don't you handle this one and join us in front," Aeon said, causing Chloe to freeze up.
With that Aeon began jogging toward Zed and Zod, looking comical as his large muscular body bounced up and down.
Not far from Chloe, the dust cleared as Aaron stepped out of the fissure his body had made.
His expression was cold and unfeeling, as though he had lost all sense of emotions with that single punch.
He looked into the distance, seeing his father jogging away. He wanted to get back at Kael for that punch.
The gills on his neck flared as he took in a deep breath. Kael was going to die, he was sure of it. There was no way he could survive a single one of them, talk less of all three of them combined.
His pitch-black eyes rested on Chloe, "I'll settle for less,"
With that said, he began walking toward Chloe with a rising killing intent.
Chloe narrowed her eyes at this, she lowered her body and spread out her wings. Mini-black cyclones formed around her, rotating as she prepared to protect herself.
She thought of her training and remembered something. The best counter against metal power users was fire, earth, or space.
She had the power of Air, which was not as effective as the others when combating metal.
Just as she was thinking of how to make this a fair fight, Aaron was hell-bent on making her feel despair.
Aaron jumped into the sky as he began to transform, his legs grew wide and flat. His two arms grew longer and flattened into fins, not just any fins, but silvery metal fins.
From a man, he turned into a shockingly massive grey shark. He wasn't thinking of fighting fair, he was thinking of killing.
Aaron, in his true shark form, did not land back in the ground as one would imagine. Rather, he hovered above, using his power over metal to control his metal fins.
His tail fin, two rear fins, two main fins, and the top dorsal fin, were all made of a silvery metal material as at now.
Airborne through the power of metal, Aaron stared down and bared his rows of razor-sharp triangular metal teeth.
Chloe looked up with a rising confidence, the red barrier had disappeared for now but the knowledge that Kael, even in the state that he was now, was thoughtful enough to provide defense for her filled her with confidence.
Is this what it means to belong to a pride? To be thought of and protected?
Chloe's straying thoughts were shattered by Aaron's descending actions. The massive shark swiped his tail and shot down with his mouth wide open.
Chloe stood still, waiting for the right moment. All the training she had undergone in heaven surged into her mind and controlled her body as though it was her second nature.
When Aaron was finally upon her, a few meters from biting her in half, Chloe raised her two hands up.
Her left hand caught Aaron's lower jaw and her right hand held his upper jaw in place.
*BAM!*
The force of his speedy descent caused Chloe's body to shake and her bones to tremble.
Even as she desperately held onto the two jaws, her body was being pushed back and her two feet dug two deep lines into the ground.
She was by no means physically strong enough to perform such a feat. It was a combination of the barrier rune Kael had placed on her and the black tornadoes wrapped around her arms.
Sharks could open their mouths very wide and Chloe had to be attentive to maintain a certain arm length.
"Stay still!" Aaron shouted as he waved his fins and pressed downward. He clamped his jaws multiple times but Chloe just maintained a distance by pressing her arms against his jaws.
She was careful to keep her fingers away from the teeth, just at the edge of the mouth, just as she had been taught.
Feeling bolder, Chloe opened her mouth and blew a crushing stream of transparent black wind into Aaron's open mouth.
Aaron was shocked, he quickly opened up his gills to let all the air out but it was too late. A large amount of that black wind had already forced its way into his insides.
This was enough to disorient the shark which gave Chloe a chance to retaliate.
