Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 183 - 27
Kael glided beneath the clouds, looking down at the churning sea with his fierce golden eyes.
Chloe was not with him, she was still a couple of kilometers away and wouldn't be reaching Kael yet.
Kael had just been too fast. He had already slowed down, ridding himself of the War State, the flames, and the electricity enhancements. Yet, he was still far ahead.
Kael didn't think too much about it anyway, he was more focused on what was currently happening on the sea.
Down below, thousands of aquatic animals were rushing in one direction, the same direction he was going in.
He could see large sharks, shockingly long serpents, and titanic crabs rushing through the waters, some of them doing so side by side.
The most common creatures were fishes of different kinds. Although the weakest fish here was already awakened and had access to their supernatural powers.
Many of them were weaker than a tier 2 wolf as their evolution required more stages before they could catch up.
Kael's firm was spotted by the more powerful aquatic creatures but didn't pay him any heed.
Kael looked forward, being able to spot where they were all going to. A massive whirlpool, a vortex of spinning water of immense magnitude.
Another thing that got Kael's attention was the massive magic shuttle hovering beneath the clouds, above the whirlpool.
Kael looked at the whirlpool, then at the magic shuttle, trying to make a decision on what to focus on.
He could go into the whirlpool pool now as that was where the signal was coming from, that was the most important thing.
But the magic shuttle was there, Isaiah could be there as well. He didn't need to guess to know that this magic shuttle belonged to Chloe's colleagues from heaven.
Kael glanced at the whirlpool again, deciding that it was not going to be closing any time soon. He then flapped his wings and flew straight for the magic shuttle.
The closer he got, the better he could see the details of the magic shuttle and he had to admit, this thing was simply massive. This magic shuttle was easily multiple times the size of an airplane from his previous life.
He could see the details, the metal platings, the brutalist design, the magic runes and circuits that flowed in the gaps.
As he got closer, a few runes lit up on his golden fur, giving him a mysterious aura. These were simply preparations in case of a fight, he was not going to approach a potential enemy without any readiness for combat.
'Nothing?' Kael thought. He half expected some kind of attack to be initiated as he got close but nothing happened. The magic shuttle remained there, floating in silence like a slumbering leviathan.
Kael did a full circle around the magic shuttle, observing its every edge with a scrutinizing gaze. This was after all a technology that belonged to the lion civilization, the glorious civilization of kings.
"Welcome, you must be Kael," A voice spoke to Kael, surprising him greatly.
He rose higher, flying above the magic shuttle, and then he dropped down on the roof of the shuttle. His landing produced a deep 'pong' sound as he didn't bother to manage his weight distribution.
"Hello," Kael finally replied to the owner of the voice. At least, it didn't cost him anything to be polite, "I am Kael,"
"We were expecting you," The voice said, having a tone of extreme satisfaction.
"I can see that," Kael said, not really surprised by their prediction, "Why don't you and this 'we' come out? Unlike you, I come in peace,"
"Kael, I cannot apologize on behalf of my master and his companions. However, if you wish to see them, you would have to wait until they return…"
"Oh, for a second I thought you were going to try to capture me," Kael said with a slight smile as he saw some magic circuits glow brightly.
"That was the plan, unfortunately, you gave me no reason to retaliate with such measures. I can't go against my master's protocols," The owner of the voice replied with a dejected tone.
"Okay then," Kael said and sat down on the metal platform. His long golden tail waved from left to right and his golden claws scraped against the metal surface. He took a moment to enjoy the feeling of the wind as it ruffled his fluffy mane.
"If I may ask, where is Chloe and Wadolius?" The voice asked. Noticing that Kael had no intention of leaving yet, he asked a serious question.
"Chloe is fine, she's the one I'm waiting for," Kael answered.
"Oh, and Wadolius?"
Kael paused, "He's fine," He lied. Now was not the time to be honest.
"I see, then all will be well Kael, no need to worry," The voice said.
"I'm not worried," Kael said with a stoic expression. To this, the voice no longer spoke.
"About Isaiah…," Kael mentioned, but the owner of the voice did not respond, everything remained silent.
Soon, Kael heard the sound of wings flapping erratically. Following that, a thud was heard as Chloe crash-landed onto the metal platform on top of the magic shuttle.
The black-winged, black-furred lioness gasped for breath, heaving as her shoulders rose and fell with difficulty.
As Kael looked at Chloe, watching as she struggled to catch her breath, he realized something. 'How did they know I would come here?
As far as they should be concerned, I'm not an Air Lion. Unless they assumed that I would use my space powers, maybe…
"Why!....Did!...You…Do…*gasp!*...that?" Chloe said in between taking deep breaths.
Kael raised an eyebrow, genuinely not knowing what exactly she was talking about. He did many things and he was about to do much more, she had to be specific.
"If you were just going to wait for me, why did you speed off like that?" Chloe asked with a look of displease on her face.
"Oh," Kael opened his mouth but ended up not giving her an answer. How was he supposed to explain the sense of urgency that had compelled him to move faster?
That sense of urgency was still present but it had diminished now that he could see the portal for himself. Even the sight of so many foreign aquatic creatures rushing into the portal did not bother him.
Kael just had a weird feeling, as if everything was happening the way it should be. His mind was relaxed and his heartbeat was steady, all would fall into his hands in due time.
That was how he felt, and Kael knew it was a dangerous feeling. He was not used to leaving things to fate or luck even if he could,
and he didn't plan on doing that now.
He didn't like basing his actions on feelings alone, he would rather depend on factual evidence and logic.
Seeing that Chloe had no answer, Chloe growled, not threateningly, but more of a complaint.
"Sorry," Kael suddenly said as he stood up. It was 'probably' something he said without thinking too much, but his single word had caused Chloe to look at him weirdly.
Chloe couldn't tell whether Kael was intentionally doing these things. Kael, the dominating King of the mountain, the one who looked like he would rather die than apologies, had just told her 'sorry'.
"Nice to see you once again, young mistress Chloe," Chloe heard a voice in her head that disrupted her thoughts.
"27?" She asked, easily recognizing the voice. "Where are the rest? Where's Alora?"
"They have all gone down the portal to pursue the heavenly beacon," 27 answered truthfully.
"Oh," Chloe already expected that they would leave without her.
"I've been instructed by the Master to assist you in the event that you arrive. Would you need anything?" 27 offered.
Chloe looked at Kael's golden figure as he stood near the edge and observed the whirlpool down below. He had his back facing her, seemingly vulnerable at this moment.
This was it, with 27's help, she could order Kael's destruction, she could.
And then, a head-splitting headache hit her like a little girl hit by a truck. She had to squint her eyes in an attempt to suppress the pain, her legs quivered and her wings shook.
A cold shiver went down her spine as she understood why Kael was so relaxed. She could not betray Kael, not now, not without killing herself in the process.
This was merely her contemplating about it, she didn't actually plan on ordering 27 to attack him. Yet, she was subjected to so much pain because of her proximity and the likelihood of doing it.
The Laws protected Kael.
"Are you all right, young mistress?" 27 asked. From his position in the command bridge, he was looking at Chloe's image and could see that she wasn't feeling too well.
Chloe gritted her teeth and glanced at Kael's back once again. Her sharp hazel flashed with relief and annoyance for some reason.
"Yes, I'm fine," Chloe replied. Only now did the headache start to fade away. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
As if by coincidence or not, Kael decided to turn around with a stern expression on his face at this time.
"Have you rested enough?" He asked, eagerness flashing in his eyes.
