Reborn In 17th century India with Black Technology-Chapter 819: Visiting MSE (1/2)
That day, after completing all his work, Vijay did not return home. Instead, he took another carriage and travelled directly to Mangalore.
The journey wasn't long, especially with the Raja Gaja Horses pulling the carriage. The Raja Gaja horses are a new breed of horses that were obtained by crossbreeding the Rajavamshi Horses and the newly discovered and imported Mongolian horses. Although this reduced the maximum amount of weight they could bear and pull, the speed as well as the endurance of the horses has been greatly increased.
The travel between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, which used to take half a day of travel time, has been cut down by a few hours.

Mangalore
Reaching the city square, Vijay saw a grand welcoming ceremony arranged for him. A red carpet was draped on the road, with the police and the Royal Guards forming a barricade on either side, holding back the huge crowd. People screamed at the top of their lungs, filled with excitement and fervour. Colourful flower petals rained down from above, while the scent of rose, tulip, jasmine, and lily floated through the air. The sound was electrifying, with a group of 53 musicians continuously playing the Tavil, Nadaswaram, trumpets, Tasha, and the newly invented instrument called "kaipattu," a type of keyboard.
Feeling the exhilarating atmosphere, Vijay got down from the carriage with a pleasant smile on his face.
Almost immediately, an old white man bowed in front of Vijay and adorned him with a flower garland.
Vijay patted the old man on the back, "You did a very good job, Joseph. The development of MSE—it's very good."
Joseph Oppenheimer immediately felt honoured and bowed once again, humbly in respect. As time went on, the majesty and air of nobility around Vijay continued to increase, making it harder for people who used to talk to him casually to do the same. Joseph Oppenheimer was one of them. When he first arrived at the empire, he was relatively free and open when talking to Vijay. Although he showed the required respect any monarch would deserve, Vijay could feel that Joseph was still very comfortable and free in his company. But right now, he could feel that Joseph was tense and careful around him, making him sigh.
In fact, not only Joseph, but recently even his closest aides started to be very careful around him, making him feel like he was all alone in the world. But he did not complain or try to change anything, since he already knew from the last two decades of his reign that in his line of work, he is destined to endure the loneliness forever. He wore the bloody crown of the Bharatiya Empire, forged from the blood and tears of the Islamic invaders and their millions of armies. Now he has to bear its weight, and he has no right to complain.
Joseph noticed that His Majesty was a little dazed, so he hesitantly called him a few times.
Vijay's senses are more sensitive after all. Even though Joseph's call was like that of a mosquito, and it was drowned out by the cries and shouts of the people around them, he still heard it and came back to his senses.
"Right, let's move on."
Vijay walked the red carpet with Joseph Oppenheimer, with a smile on his face as he waved at the admirers, and suddenly, loud shouts came from a group of people.
"Your Majesty, I am from Times of Bharat, one question please..."
"Your Majesty, I'm from Bharatam Daily, please give me one question..."
"Your Majesty, Ahom Daily..."
"Balochi..."
"Bangla Vartha..."
Journalists from multiple newspaper companies desperately tried to get Vijay's attention, as if they were concubines in a Chinese or Korean drama, trying very hard to please and get the attention of their husband.

Vijay was helpless. At first, he felt it was novel getting interviewed by so many journalists, because even in his last life as a chief scientist for the Mars Rover Project, he did not get a lot of chances to be interviewed by reporters—it was usually the chairman who got to give the interview. But now, being bothered so much by them, he is already over it.
But Vijay is not a person who will be hypocritical and think that his life was very hard, and say that he wishes to be a common person. So, although he did not like to give the interview, he came forward and picked a person at random.
Sreelatha was overjoyed as she immediately took out a small booklet in her hands. "Your Majesty, His Highness Agni has recently registered a company. It is said that His Highness has taken a break from his studies and is completely focused on running his entrepreneurship venture. Some prominent figures in the industry think that this is a very good thing, while there are others who disapprove of it. What is your opinion, Your Majesty?"
Vijay's smile faded a little.
He had actually noticed this problem recently, where his family seemed to have become sort of like celebrities in the empire. If he is being realistic, his family was already a celebrity and the most important family in the nation even before the newspapers, but it was not felt since there was not much interaction between the family and the public. The government, as a middleman, attracted the most attention. But as the newspapers continued to increase and more people began to read them, articles about the royal family began to gain more traction and became more popular.
This started a mad chase for any and every piece of news about the royal family, whether it was the movements of his wife, Kavya, or the movements of his children. They were all highly sought after by the newspaper companies. Regrettably, noticing the loophole and a gap in entertainment for women, some female editors started to focus on obtaining gossip and personal news about some of the most influential and rich families in the empire, like the Shettys, Kalyan's, Bakshi's, Ranavikramas, Singhas, or any other famous family.
Currently, the attention the royal family was getting was no different from that of any A-list celebrity from the future. The gossip and information about the royal family had almost turned into a reality show like the Kardashians. Fortunately, the paparazzi and the journalists still had some bottom line and still feared the royal family. They had not crossed the line, and they dared not, or else Vijay would personally teach them how to behave.
"This question is completely unrelated to the stock exchange, but I did hear the differing opinions on my son's decision, so I will say this."
"If any young students in the empire want to follow in my son's footsteps... don't," Vijay said, his expression serious. "School, college, and university are the most stable paths to success in this society. They will guide you through life and shape you into successful, functional members of society."
"For most people, the path Agni is taking will not work. Unlike the majority of the empire, Agni receives an allowance each month that some people spend an entire year working for. Agni can afford to fail, but most cannot."
"Study hard, get into a good college, do an internship, learn skills, attend a good university, intern at your favourite companies, and from there, you're free to pursue whatever you want, because by then, you'll have the tools to succeed in life."
"That said, I will also say this—if you want to skip your schooling and dive straight into the real world as an entrepreneur, there's nothing wrong with that either. But understand this: the chances of bankruptcy are as high as 90%, and the chances of success are only 10%. It is these 10%—the most hardworking, visionary, and brilliant young people in the empire—that create change, lead that change, and become the change. So, it is up to the youth of the empire to decide: will they be part of the 90% who fail, or are they willing to risk everything and become part of the 10% who succeed?"
"'Can I risk losing all the investment, time, and resources?' This is the question every young person should ask themselves if they are considering dropping out of school to start their entrepreneurial journey. If the answer is yes, if you can afford to lose it all, then by all means, go ahead. Tread those uncharted waters, and prove to the world that you are a warrior, an achiever, and above all, a brilliant entrepreneur."
Sri Latha swiftly wrote down everything His Majesty had mentioned, with an excited expression on her face.
"Thank you for your answer, Your Majesty."
Vijay acknowledged her with a smile, but before he could pick another journalist, he warned, "I hope the next question will be about the stock exchange and not about some unrelated topic." His eyes were like sharp knives piercing through the gazes of all the journalists, making them immediately avert their gaze in panic.
