The girls, as they reached the sewers didn't take long to end up meeting with several Nightmare Beasts, which Nyx already could guess were natural animals of this place that were then turned into monsters through touching or being exposed to Nightmare Miasma.

From giant walking fishes to frogs, and even aquatic insects the size of small cars, these things were incredibly deadly, Alma and Fran stepped back the moment they saw them approach them, although Nyx seemed to be in high spirits.

"Snowman, Snowdragon, Phantom Dragons, it's time! Charge!"

After calling for them, Nyx summoned her Dream Weapon, the Axe her mother had made for her, and quickly leaped into action, swinging her arms down and rapidly beginning to slice apart the frog's tongues coming at her while the Snowman and the Snowdragon attacked the others.

The two snow-made golems were powerful, rapidly rushing towards the nearby walking fishes, their immense physiques and magical power connected to ice made them the perfect counter against swamp monsters.

"Go for it, dad!" Fran said, as she cheered for the snowman, giving it strength through her belief and love, an aura of pink color emerging from her body.

The Snowman nodded as he grew large. With muscular-like snow-made arms and an overflowing Aura of Dream Power, the "Snowdad" smashed the heads of the catfishes running at him, blowing their eyes out of their faces as the creatures were instantly crushed by the sheer force of his mighty physical power, something that seemed beyond what a snow-made golem could ever accomplish at all.

BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!

The catfishes continued emerging from the swamp water, but the Snowdad managed to hold them off from getting to Fran and Ama, while Nyx swung her powerful axe, slicing through the frogs in front of her with ease.

"{Abyssal Phantom Axe Arts}: {Spectral Cleave}!"

She spun in midair, reinforcing the power of her swing and expanding its area of effect by enchanting her attack with the power of hundreds of smaller ghosts added to it!

CRAASH! CRAAS! CRAASH! CRAASH!

Not only did the frogs died agonizingly and rapidly, but nearby catfishes also perished, unable to even get into the land to terrorize the little girls. As they weren't Nightmares but Nightmare Beasts, their bodies didn't disappear, floating around and slowly bleeding out.

The number of monsters that fought them rapidly decreased, but more continued coming from the nearby water, attracted by the noise and the smell of blood, something that the group didn't expect.

"There's more coming?!" Nyx wondered. "This is getting annoying already…"

As this happened, Alma and Fran remained behind the battles, looking rather worried. They weren't trembling, but they were quite afraid, never had they seen so many monsters gathered in the same place. Fran in specific, didn't even know monsters existed until recently.

"What are we going to do? They keep coming in droves, Alma!" Fran muttered.

"I-it's alright, Nyx and your Snowdad got this… covered!" Alma nodded.

Alma noticed Fran's little hands were trembling, as she was breathing very heavily, she was genuinely afraid, the more the monsters came, the more she felt despair.

"Fran…"

She sighed, quickly hugging the girl from behind, giving her the warmth of her body to calm her down, the sewers down here were very cold, and the sun couldn't reach them.

"Alma…?"

"It's alright… We're going to be okay."

Fran cried a bit. As she hugged Alma, and Alma didn't let go of her either, the battle only became more intense, as the two girls could only watch.

The darkness that extended behind them slowly started to move, however, small silhouettes beginning to rapidly take form.

Giant rats slowly lurked behind them, each one two meters big, with sharp teeth and crimson eyes, bodies covered with black horns and with long and sharp claws.

Fran, who was hugging Alma, slowly opened her eyes, noticing something moving towards them through the shadows, her heart began beating faster as the thing drew closer and closer…

"No it's not okay there's a monster over there! I saw it! It was moving in the shadows!"

The moment Alma was about to grab Fran and run, a giant rat jumped out of the walls towards them, opening its jaws wide and aiming to gnaw the girl's heads off!

The two screamed full of horror, as the rats reached them, swinging their claws against them and throwing them away, missing to bite them by a hair as Alma accidentally fell over her butt out of fear, dragging Fran along as she was holding her tightly.

"GRRRHHH…!"

The rats approached the two girls, who started crawling back, it prepared itself to pounce at them, while several other rats emerged from within the surroundings.

"N-Nyx!"

Fran screamed, calling for her, at the same time as the rat leaped towards the girls!

"Nooo!"

Alma screamed, protecting Fran with her body as the rat leaped towards her, its jaws biting her shoulder and making her scream.

"Uuaagh!"

"GRAAARRGH!"

The monster roared furiously, each bite was like a deadly stab on her harm, blood splattering everywhere.

"Snowdad!!!"

Fran screamed as she saw Alma crying and screaming in agony!

BAAAMMM!!!

A giant fist made of snow hit the rat biting Alma, blowing it away as its entire head was frozen and then exploded into pieces.

"Shyeeeggh!"

The Rats ferociously leaped towards Snowdad, attacking its legs and arms, using their massive teeth to bite through his snow body and attempt to make him crumble down.

At the same time, Fran cried, seeing Alma bleeding, her eyes looking tired.
