Rebirth: Revenge of the abandoned heirress-Chapter 97: I hope you are ready
Chapter 97 - I hope you are ready
"What proposition?" Jazmine Harrison was surprised. Looking at his expressions, she couldn't find anything that could tell if he was being sincere or if it was one of his other tricks. Jazmine wouldn't be fool enough to trust David Anderson... not again.
But whatever he had wanted to say did pique her interest.
"How's it related to my grandfather?" She wouldn't do anything that harmed her grandfather. So she had to listen to whatever David had to say.
"The proposition. I don't think you are a stupid woman, as you've proved in the last few weeks." The side of David Anderson's lips twitched upward. "You must know that if the Anderson empire turns against you, you'll stand no chance in New York. That's the reason you haven't confronted me directly yet. Means you must have known that before."
"So...?" Jazmine didn't know where he wanted to get by mentioning that.
"Hand over your company willingly, and I'll help you get the best escape out of the situation," he suddenly said.
For a moment, Jazmine couldn't understand what he meant by that. But when she understood, she merely smiled at him."Thank you for the gracious proposition, Mr. Anderson. But I'm afraid I must decline."
"You don't understand the gravity of the situation," David had expected that response. "I am providing you with the best I can within my abilities. I can assure yours and your grandfather's safety in exchange for that."
"How am I supposed to understand that? You're asking me to give up my company. The whole argument is comical." Jazmine had had enough of him. She pulled open the door. "If you'll excuse me."
"Then are you sure you're ready to fight me?" David asked before she left.
"Yes, I am." Jazmine glanced back and answered with a smile. And just like that, she left.
When she left, David Anderson stayed at his place for a long time."Jazmine Harrison, I hope you're ready. I can't stop my uncle any longer from coming at you."
When Jazmine walked out of the hotel, she was in deep thought."What could he possibly mean by that?" She had no idea. "What did he want to achieve?" Jazmine was inclined to think that he had ulterior motives but...
There was something wrong. Either he was being sincere or he had an exceptional skill at faking."He hasn't done anything like this in my past life." Jazmine didn't want to think about it. She had Rolf drive her to Sebastian Crowne's office.
During the ride, Jazmine glanced at Rolf."My previous chauffeur Herold suffered an accident, didn't he?" Jazmine remembered the second day she was reincarnated, something that hadn't happened in her previous life. The chauffeur was replaced by Rolf.
"W-Well, Ms. Harrison..." Rolf broke into a cold sweat.
"What did you do to him?" Jazmine's lips curled up. She didn't want to scare Sebastian's man. She was just curious.
"Herold declined to give up his position, so we had him transported abroad," Rolf said.
"Did he go willingly?" After a pause, Jazmine added, "Of course not willingly. You guys would've forced him. Now that I know you intend no ill, have him back if he wishes to return. I'll let you keep your position."

Jazmine climbed out of the car and walked into the spacious lobby. She glanced around the interior, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that she was impressed."This President Crowne sure has some taste."
She walked to the receptionist."On which floor is President Crowne's office located?"
The receptionist paused her call and looked up, shocked. There hadn't been anyone who would directly ask for President Crowne."I'm sorry, miss, you'll have to get an appointment to meet him."Did she want to see him just like that? She must be joking! The kind of people they let in... The receptionist shook her head and went back to attending to her call, ignoring Jazmine. In any case, the receptionist thought, the woman didn't deserve her time.
"You don't understand. President Crowne himself gave me the time." Jazmine tried her best to be polite.
At this, the receptionist put down the phone. She looked very irritated."Are you telling me that President Crowne, who wouldn't give more than five minutes to the famous tycoons of London, would personally give you a call? He has his staff do the job." The receptionist raised her eyebrow at Jazmine."Please leave the premises. We don't want any trouble."
"If you could just give a call and confirm it..."
"I said leave!" The woman's voice rose considerably. She was already having a bad day. This woman was irritating her to death. She just wanted her thrown out of there."Or I'll have to call security. I won't allow you to go up any further."
"Do you have to be like this? Just give a call to President Crowne's secretary to confirm." Jazmine could be polite. But if the other person was going to act like crap, she wasn't going to play nice either.
"We have thousands of people like you coming every day claiming they had an appointment with President Crowne. Now if we gave a call for every such person, wouldn't it be troublesome?"
Jazmine couldn't really grasp the situation. For one, she realized how important a man President Crowne really was. She walked back to give Sebastian a call but just then, she spotted Elias Crownie.
"What's happening?" Elias observed the commotion.
Catching sight of Elias, the receptionist's demeanor changed completely. The frown on her face vanished and was replaced by all smiles. She quickly stood and gave a bow to Elias, showing her respect."Mr. Crownie, this woman accidentally found her way here. I was guiding her out." Her job required her to be respectful toward visitors. Just now, she'd been very disrespectful because she was in a bad mood.
Damn it! Did Elias have to appear here right now? But she was confident she could handle the situation.
"Is that so?" Elias was wise. He quickly grasped the situation.
"Yes, Mr. Crownie. This lady claimed that she had been personally invited by President Crowne. Isn't that ridiculous? But anyway, I followed the company rules and wanted to guide her out politely. But she's been insistent that I give a call to President Crowne's secretary. I know President Crowne can't be disturbed for matters like this. But the lady refused to leave. So I had no other option but to threaten her that I'd call security."
