Chapter 48: The Prince

After Arthur walked away, Kevin also felt like walking around and finding something to eat.

He didn’t have lunch properly and was getting a little hungry. And since he didn’t know if he could eat something after the cake cutting ceremony, he thought to utilize the time he had.

"Dad, I will be back," Kevin informed him, and Aston, who was still talking to the Duke, nodded.

"Don’t go too far." He said fleetingly, but Kevin was already walking away.

He was holding the gift with both hands, even though it wasn’t necessary—the box was small. But just to be on the safe side, he remained cautious.

The grand hall where the guests had gathered was huge. And several people come today to congratulate the youngest Prince, the protagonist.

Kevin was trying to find the foot counters, and while on his way, he entered a different room that was attached to the main hall.

Here, fewer people and mostly children were present. Maybe this room was dedicated to them?

Regardless, Kevin spotted a counter for snacks and beverages across from the room, and his eyes brightened.

He stepped forward, but then he stepped onto his undone shoelace and tripped forward, "Ah!"

A fall was prevented since he crashed into the guy who was in front of him.

"Ahh! My dress!" Just when Kevin heard the scream, he knew he had caused a disaster.

He hurriedly stepped back from the boy, and the guy parted away from the girl on whom he had spilled the drink.

The blue-haired boy first apologized to the girl he was pursuing before turning towards Kevin with his eyes red, "You idiot!"

*DHAK*

Kevin never got the chance to explain, and a punch landed on his jaw, sending him crashing down on the ground.

The whole room turned silent as everyone turned to enjoy the drama with a sip of their drinks.

The blue-haired boy shouted, "Are those two eyes just mere decorations? Or did your lowlife just want to spoil someone’s evening?!" He was furious.

Kevin touched his sore jaw...that strength is not something a normal human could muster.

Suddenly, Kevin realized that the gift was missing. He started looking around and found the box was nowhere to be found.

"Finding this?" Another man, one with red hair, grinned as he flashed the box before Kevin.

"You..!" Kevin tried to take it away, but the other one was faster.

"Ah, no, no, no."

Kevin gritted his teeth as he got back up on his feet and looked at the duo.

They definitely were kids of high nobles, and using his skills here to slap their faces seemed like it would backfire.

"Let’s see what you got in there," the redhead took out the good luck charm from the box, and instantly, a round of laughter echoed through the room.

"Phahahah! Is this what you planned on gifting the Prince? A fucking set of stones?" He threw it towards the guy into whom Kevin crashed.

However, mid-flight, the bracelet disappeared.

"Huh?" The redhead frowned as his eyes caught a blur before he turned towards his back and saw a black-haired kid standing there.

Arthur, who had just arrived, heaved a long sigh as he pocketed the bracelet.

Turning towards his brother, he saw his bluish-red cheek, before asking, "Which nasty brat punched you?"

"Hey, you asswipe. Be mindful of what you say." The blue-haired warrior warned, his mana flaring and his Tier-two blessing faintly appearing on his face.

Arthur ignored the threat and asked his brother, "This one? Then go ahead and punch him back, or I will."

Kevin didn’t need to be told twice. freewebnøvel.com

*Tap* *Tap*

He tapped on the guy’s shoulders twice, and just as he turned,

*DHAK*

A punch, fueled with mana, crashed into his jaw, and the guy was sent flying.

He landed before Arthur, and the spirit user didn’t delay in using a spell to secretly wet his pants between his legs.

"You damn bastard!" The redhead launched toward Arthur, since he was closer.

Arthur saw the punch and thought of what could be the least problematic way to deal with him.

In the end, he just tilted his body, pushed the punch sideways, and kicked his legs to make him trip over his friend.

"Guh!" The blue-haired grunted in pain.

Arthur slightly shook his head...kids these days are so hot-blooded.

He was about to reach his brother and leave the place when suddenly,

"What did you do to my son?!" A booming voice echoed through the room, and even the guests from the main hall became aware that something had happened.

Kevin was nervous now as he stuck closer to Arthur and asked, "What should we do?"

Arthur didn’t respond and heard the blue-haired man, who was also the Count of the nation, shouting, "You hurt my child?! How dare you!"

Soon, Aston and Duke Montclair stepped inside the room, and the Duke hurried toward his son before helping him get up.

There was a severe frown on his face as he turned towards the two boys, "What is happening here?" He demanded.

"Father..." The redhead groaned, looking in so much pain as if he had been tortured for hours, as he said, "Those kids hit us...Agh, I feel nauseous." A pinch of pitifulness and a dash of overacting.

Duke Montclair, naturally, trusted his son and questioned the duo, "Is it true, Kevin and Arthur?"

Aston also stood beside his sons, but never questioned them. He knew better than anyone that unless the other side had done something to them, they wouldn’t have attacked the other party.

"Why are you even asking them? These nasty brats won’t say the truth-"

"Yes, but I will." Count Drevon’s words were interrupted as suddenly, a certain young man with platinum blond hair stepped in.

Kevin’s eyes widened, and everyone in the crowd gasped upon realizing the identity of the person.

Meanwhile, Arthur has an unreadable expression on his face as he sees the Prince of the nation and also, the savior of humanity.

Eric von Aldercrest. Formally known as Eric Dawnhec—Clarsen’s executioner.
