Being asked so politely, of course I surrendered.

Easy ticket to the boss.

I raised my hands and let myself be searched, and then one of the men came forward with cuffs white and thicker than normal and clasped them around my wrists.

"No nature energy." I internally breathed a sigh of relief.

The fact that Grace had been tracked and kidnapped under Giggs' watch, and then the man simply let go, made it very clear they wanted to draw our attention.

If not Denise, then me. In fact, unless there was something I didn't know, it should definitely be me.

Looking at the men surrounding me, my biggest worry for a while had been that the truth about my strength had been found out.

Perhaps Denise had let something slip while with Grace and after being captured, she spilt the beans. Based on my current happenings though, I was overthinking.

Even with the cuffs, I could take down all seven men around me in less than three minutes.

Sure, they were stronger than average, a confidence in their eyes that spoke of strength beyond the natural, but I knew I would crush them.

"Why is so thick?" I casually questioned.

The man in the blue suit, who had entered the elevator with me, looked me up and down after my question. Then, without warning, he released a fist at my stomach.

"Bam."

He hit hard. Hard enough that the impact sounded through the air and would've knocked out any ordinary man, but not hard enough that even someone like Abdul

Mike's drug buddy would collapse from it.

"That's why," he said, flexing his shoulder and straightening his suit.

Following his lead, the group entered the elevator and when it began rising, he asked,

"What rank are you?"

"What rank are you?" I fired back.

I had a good idea what I was being asked, but if I was right, this was an opportunity to gather information.

"Well, everyone here except me is Blue. I'm Red."

There was a mix of casualness and pride in his tone, and none of the others seemed bothered by his words.

"So how about you?"

"Just a step away from Black," I said haughtily.

Though I felt no guilt about ending her, I still remembered my conversation with Betty and her mention of Black Elites.

Back then, she spoke of Black Elites with respect. She praised me even more, saying I was higher than a Black Elite, yet I found that even then, her expectation of my strength was quite low.

Taking this into account, though risky, I decided to take a step down from the highly regarded rank.

I didn't think much of its strength, especially considering how easily I had knocked out Kyle's guards, who were supposedly Black Elites. I just hoped that the strength of the rank below it wasn't also overly exaggerated.

As I spoke, I carefully observed the seven men around me, groaning internally when I noticed them all tense up, those infront throwing worried glances back.

"So, a Red Elite," the man in the blue suit muttered. "Guess they were right about the stronger cuffs."

Though their leader remained cautious, within me, all apprehension vanished. Just the fact that they thought these cuffs would hold me was enough to let me know, I still held the cards.

They had no idea about even half the strength I possessed.

When the elevator chimed once more, its doors opened to reveal the 33rd floor.

With my arms firmly held by men on both sides and others ahead and behind me, like I was a vile criminal, I was led through a maze of empty hallways and storage rooms. We crossed half the expanse of the building before finally entering a corridor lit by fancy, flickering blue and red lights.

"Are we going to a club?" I couldn't resist asking.

"NO."

We stopped before a simple door, and in front of it, everyone subconsciously stood straighter.

After a few knocks, the door was opened.

Of the seven men escorting me, only three entered, the man in the blue suit obviously among them.

The room I was taken into, though wide, was built in a half-moon shape. Its far end stretched deeper than the center, where a white grand chair stood.

There were four other people in the room, all very young women dressed in suits, two on each sides of the wall.

Other than two females clad in white robes relaxing on a long couch at the back, there was a middle-aged man seated on the grand chair, looking out a large window ahead of him, down at a gathering happening on the floor below.

"Sir, we have Marcus Lawson with us."

"John, is it?"

"Yes, sir."

"Nice work. Tell Tatiana I said to give you something."

"Of course, sir. Thank you very much," the man in the blue suit said, bowing. His colleagues did the same, then hastily departed.

With my hands cuffed, I was left standing at the center of the room. No one spoke to me or paid me any attention, well, no one except the two ladies. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

People say to go where you're wanted. And while I couldn't say I was exactly wanted, I could say there was interest in me. So, I went there.

"Ladies," I smiled. "Mind if I have a seat?"

"Sure," they parted, leaving space between them.

Both girls had red hair. Whether it was real or dyed, I didn't know. While their robes hid most of their bodies, their exposed thighs sold them out.

"Two beautiful ladies just for my uncle? He's a really greedy man. What are your names?"

The two ladies looked stunned at my words, but then, seeing neither the man in the chair nor his guards reacting, they engaged.

"Emily."

"Sarah."

"Why are your hands cuffed?" Emily asked a bit cautiously, her eyes darting around.

"It's my uncle. I get into one little fight, and the man decides I should be cuffed like some criminal. Sarah, do you think he's right?"

As I said the last words, I turned to the other woman.

Her expression tensing, and I had just leaned in to press my lips to her cheek when a strong fluctuation of energy surged through me, and I found myself standing behind the grand chair.

"What happened?"
