Chapter 118: 118: Reckoning Hour

---

Door swung open. Room smelled of spice wine and human mating wastes. Darius reclined on a couch, carapace polished to mirror, four-star aura a pale silver haze. Two sexy female blade-dancers were present. Both of them were wearing revealing clothes. Big football size melons.

Darius was holding one female melon 🍈 with one hand and a wine cup on the other hand. One girl was still on Darius’ lap. Another one besides him. Both of their eyes are full of lust. Both of them wanted to get penetrated by manly men. Darius was unable to satisfy their needs. They had frustrated expressions on their faces. Only if someone could satisfy them they would moan loud enough to echo in the entire camp.

When Kai entered the room, All eyes fell on Kai.

He bowed just enough. His hood covered his entire body and face. "Heard you eat cores. I carry three star beast cores of high quality."

Darius’s antennae twitched. "Remove the hood. Let me see your face."

Kai did it slowly...

Recognition detonated in Darius’s eyes, first disbelief, then panic, finally twisted glee. The blade-dancers stiffened.

"Well," Darius drawled, rising. "The corpse crawls back. I buried you once, you survived. Then you were taken by a five star predator... you survived. Congratulations. What brings you here? Did you come here to die by my hand? I must say, I will enjoy killing you."

Kai smiled thinly. "I came to end our unfinished business, you ugly Bastard."

"Kill him now. It will make me hard. I can go another round with you. This time I will try my best to satisfy you." Darius barked an order.

One Blade dancer lunged at Kai, the lap sitting one. (She was carving for the penetration most, amongst the two. That’s why she was sitting on Darius’ lap. Hoping it will make him hard... She asked Darius to massage her melons, at least that can calm her desire a bit.)

Kai’s spear blurred with Speed 140 outstripped their reading. One throat pierced, second parried and riposted, she fell clutching a leaking aura. Blood hissed on floor tiles.

"How shameful, you can’t even satisfy these weak girls. Yet you dream of princess Mia." Kai mocked Darius.

Room cleared in a heartbeat, Darius retreated behind the banquet table. "You lowly Ant, Don’t talk big. Mercenaries come here, there is an Intruder in the camp."

"Coward!"

An alarm horn brayed beyond door. Kai stepped over corpses, leveled the spear. "Just us now. Fight with me. Don’t be a pussycat."

Darius drew twin sabres of black enamel. Four-star aura flared, sand-silver lightning licking blades. He circled. "You should have stayed dead, Kai. I didn’t want to sober up. You forced me. I will make you pay."

"I owe you a tunnel of stones, remember?" Kai replied.

Darius struck first, sabres weaving figure eights. Metal rang in the air. Kai matched the tempo, Adaptive Armor deflecting sparks. His new strength let him absorb each clash without yielding.

But speed disparity narrowed, Darius was a little faster than him, every parry jarred wrists. Kai activated his Reflex Mode and the world slowed around him. He slipped aside, stabbing for ribs. Sabre parried, second blade raked shoulder. HP dipped 200. Pain lanced.

He countered, sweeping low; Darius vaulted the table, kicked platter into Kai’s face. Kai batted aside but the moment cost him. A sabre pommel smashed jaw, dazing. Darius followed with an aura burst punch, Kai flew into pillar. His plates cracking, spear clattering distant.

[Ding! Low HP 1 400. Be careful, host.]

Darius laughed. "Four stars trumps your peasant plates. Your overconfidence is your downfall, lowly ant."

Kai wiped ichor. "Round two." He drew a dagger, invoked Tiny Tank, his exoskeleton hardened obsidian black.

They clashed again. Kai endured flurry, counter punches, and drove a dagger across Darius’s cheek, first blood. Darius hissed, aura spiked, released Silver Sever, a crescent wave that cut masonry. Kai ducked but the shockwave shredded his chest plate. HP 1 000.

His stamina drained and Reflex Mode expired. Darius pressed advantage, sabres a storm. Kai back-pedaled, powerless to reset.

In desperation he triggered Worker’s Resilience and his stamina and speed spiked, though fatigue timer started. He snatched sparing moments of parry-riposte, landing two shallow cuts on Darius’s thigh.

Sabre hilt cracked his temple and his vision swam heat red.

[Ding! Warning! Warning! Low HP: 800 hp]

Darius kicked him across floor, pinned spearless. "Time to finish you."

Kai tasted blood, felt Destiny tighten. The stigma under sternum burned. But he had one gambit before using ruler roar, Essence Overlord. Aura cloaked dagger in devouring black.

He rolled as a sabre fell edge carved floor instead of skull. He stabbed upward into Darius’s left wrist, the blade sank through the aura shield, drinking. Darius shrieked, dropped sabre, kicked Kai away. Kai rose staggering, dagger dim.

Darius’s aura flickered, his arm useless but the power bag still huge. He roared, charging like a silver comet, drawing a reserve core from the belt for instant aura infuse.

Kai felt the edge of death. Every skill timer empty, aura 1800 but wits fraying.

"Okay... Miryam," he whispered to egg. "Cover your ears."

He triggered Ruler’s Roar, the first stigma charge. Chest sigil blazed sun-white; a sonic shockwave erupted radius twenty metres. Brick vaporised, windows shattered. Darius slammed into the far stone, sabre skittering away. Kai collapsed to knee, breath shredded. Aura drained to 000, HP to 400 from backlash.

The room location became a smoking crater, but the fortress still roared outside, mercenaries converging. Because Kai had less aura the attack power was compromised.

Kai forced a stand. Darius crawled from the rubble, shell fractured, eyes wild. Silver aura guttered to embers, but kill lust remained.

"No more tricks," Kai croaked.

He retrieved spear from debris, twirled. Fresh blood slick palms. He advanced.

Darius laughed through his broken face. "You... will die first, nobody... will know."

They met at the final time, both slower, desperate. Kai’s spear thrust met Darius’s remaining sabre. Sparks. Kai disengaged, feinted low then hammered overhead. Darius parried, but weaker arm buckled. Spear grazed scalp. Darius counter swiping; Kai pivoted, drove butt into broken wrist, bone shattered, sabre fell.
