Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System-Chapter 516: The Rescue Quest
"Are you sure?" the 13th Oracle asked, staring toward the 16th Oracle.
"Yes. I heard him say he was going back home," the 16th Oracle said. "When he was teleported away, even his subordinate didn't look shocked or angry. It was like a normal thing to them.
I waited six whole days just to see if he would appear again, but he didn't. However, I have this feeling he wasn't bluffing."
The 16th Oracle, who was sent to kill Kent and the Hunter, returned after almost a week simply because she was still disturbed by what Kent said when she teleported him and the Hunter to the Dead Region.
This made her wait for a while before returning to report. Though Kent didn't return even after six days, she was still skeptical about whether or not he was indeed telling the truth.
"This is indeed concerning," the 10th Oracle said, making the others nod. They then turned to their leader.
"This is indeed not ideal, and considering we still don't have enough access to the Karma of this world, it means he is still alive.
Or perhaps we were wrong about him—in which case, if he died, we would only incur a small portion of the Karmic backlash.
That said, if he comes back alive, then we will know he is indeed the one we are after, which means we can only try again until we succeed.
For now, we can only continue to steal the fate of fertile men and hope this doesn't last forever." All sixteen oracles in the hall nodded.
They most certainly didn't know the only reason Kent hadn't yet escaped the Dead Region was that he received a quest that could not be ignored.
Back inside the Dead Region, after learning Chaos Qi, Kent spent some time checking his strength and how to wield the small amount of Chaos Qi he could muster at the moment.
Strangely, even the small amount was enough to prove he had become incredibly powerful.
After getting acquainted with using Chaos Qi, he tested his bloodline, considering it had finally reached 9%.
He could still only summon his dragon scales, horns, claws, and wings. There was no new aspect at his time. However, that doesn't mean he hadn't gained anything.
Thanks to reaching 9%, the scales felt sturdier, and the claws were much sharper and stronger.
Flexing them, he felt like he could claw through metal, tearing it with his bare hands. He then checked his wings, which were now much sharper and better suited for flight.
His speed had also increased, and as for his strength, he would need to punch a few things to measure it accurately.
Basically, he had become very powerful, and regardless of who he faced—even in his human form—they would struggle to keep up with him.
"I can't wait to gain more features and perhaps turn into a full dragon. I would look cooler and badass that way," he said, his smile contagious as he felt his strength.
"I guess it's off to the quest then. I must end this fast, since I have alchemy to do and other continents to explore—not forgetting the Ancient Battlefield of Parting is still there, waiting for me, my wives, and my legion."
He turned to the quest and started reading it.
⟪You have received a new Quest from the Universe.⟫
⟪Quest Name: Rescue the Bloodvein Tribe⟫
⟪Quest Difficulty: Very Hard⟫
→ The Bloodvein Tribe in the Dead Region will soon face an extinction event that will end their existence.
→ This cannot be allowed to happen, considering they are staunch followers of Shara, the Mother of Killers.
→ Your mission is to contact them and help them overcome this event.
→ You are prohibited from killing anyone from this tribe, and you cannot allow them to face this event on their own, whether they accept your help or not.
⟪Rewards:⟫
→ 30 Million Tower Points
→ Memory Fragment (Shara)
→ Reward from Bloodvein Tribe
[Note: You cannot summon or communicate with anyone inside the Tower. This mission must be handled by you alone.]
"Hmm, looks like this is something Neomi should be doing, considering these are her followers," Kent smirked as he read the quest's details.
The fact that he was pulled into this quest proves its great importance. It concerns the existence of an entire race and one of his wives.
Thanks to her true name, Neomi went by many names.
One such name was Shara, the Mother of Killers.
Eons ago, when she emerged from the Slaughter Trial, she earned many names and titles, but for years now, the name Shara has been associated with killing.
Naturally, that sounded disturbing.
However, while it unsettled some, others worshipped her. This meant she was a symbol—and when the time came, she would gain even more fate simply because of her name: Shara.
That was wild, and now, Kent, being the good husband, was meant to protect this fate. But he still has many questions, like whether Shara had lived in this world before.
Another being, who was Shara, and how does she connect to his wife?
Then it dawned on him: "If these people are followers of Shara, then does it mean Neomi would one day become this Shara?" He paused and looked at the rewards.
"Don't tell me she would recover her memories like I do with the Memory Key." Kent hadn't caught that earlier, but now that he did, he immediately focused on the mission.
He had already seen what memories could do, so if his wives had a chance to recover theirs, he wouldn't waste time.
"Does this mean they were also like me? Does it mean they once lived and died like I did?" This question, however, wasn't something he could answer now.
He also didn't know why, but thinking about their past wasn't something he was overly concerned about. He had this nagging feeling that things would come together one way or another.
"I must get her this fragment and see what she can do with it." Kent didn't waste any more time.
His wings appeared, and like a shooting star, he shot toward the western side of the Dead Region, where the Bloodvein Tribe was located.
