The more they walked inside the divinely beautiful shine, decorated with thousands of colorful lanterns, and floral arches all around, Zenith’s face turned a bit glum which Kylian had vividly noticed.

Carefully noticing a sad tint glistening in his dark big orbs, it made Kylian assume that perhaps Zenith needed some space before opening up about himself, and he also wondered if it was something related to his dark, scarred past which has always haunted him until now.

Thus, Kylian gave him some space to brace himself before he was finally ready to answer his keen question, "This is the place where my Mom’s prayer meet was supposed to be held, 13 years ago. But it never happened after all, and after all these years, I have finally obtained the chance to fulfill my duty as her son, all thanks to you, Kyle.

"And...this was the reason why I was hesitating to come here in the first place...since I wasn’t mentally prepared myself to embrace those memories that had put a stain on my life."

As Zenith spoke, his low voice shuddered a little and his hold on Kylian’s hand clenched a bit tighter, as if he was growing anxious inside just by speaking about it.

But without judging his words, Kylian rather held his hand tightly as his firm support, before he tried to comfort Zenith in an amicable voice, "I see. If you had told me the reason before, I don’t think I would’ve urged you to come here, Zenith. But...if you see the positive side of the situation, you could finally come here to fulfill the last rites of your Mother. Right?"

"Hmm...maybe that’s why, she sent you to my life as my biggest blessing who could bring me back here." The sad smile on Zenith’s face curved a little wide as he spoke, and Kylian had often noticed it whenever Zenith used to talk about his mother, his face would become pretty emotional, as if he was barely holding back his tears inside.

While they marched ahead and a brief silence fell between them, Zenith sneaked a glance at Kylian and saw him fidgeting a little. With a small smirk, Zenith asked him first, "Babe, you...want to ask me about what happened here years ago, right?"

Kylian was accurately pondering the same thought in his mind but when Zenith inquired him out of the blue, he looked a little flustered while mumbling in a shy voice, "Hey...do you also have mind-reading ability?"

"Haha, no. But...you’re just so pure...like a puritan...that it always made me notice with ease what you were thinking inside." With a big huff of sigh, the smile on Zenith’s face tainted a little as his eyes grew mysteriously dark, "I was just a small child back then, but I sinned.

"I had pushed that omega off those stairs with whom that old geezer cheated on my Mom. I initially wanted to kill that omega but my anger flared towards the child she was carrying in her belly because I knew doing that would hurt my Dad.

"My Mom wanted to bear a second child for him...and instead of her wish, I couldn’t stand that slut’s wish getting fulfilled instead. So, I succeeded in killing her child and the traumatic injury was so major that she could never conceive after that, for all these years. Though...I still do regret failing to kill her off too."

As soon as Zenith spoke, he wafted his glance at Kylian’s face and saw his ocean eyes were rolled and wide open, with a look of disbelief apparent on his pale face. As if Kylian couldn’t blink his lashes, he stared at Zenith for a brief moment and then slowly lowered his gaze down, "I-I see..."

Somewhat Zenith had expected a stunned expression on Kylian’s face after hearing his confession, but strange anxiety was stirred inside him as he couldn’t stop himself from asking him, "Babe...now that I professed the truth...do you find me disgusting now? For...attempting to take away an innocent life—"

"It’s not what I am thinking about." With a low deep voice, Kylian mumbled before Zenith could blurt about those insecurities rising in his mind. Keeping a brief pause, Kylian gripped his hand even tighter than before as if through his gesture, he was trying to show Zenith that no matter what happened, he wouldn’t leave him all alone, lost in the dark like before.

"Well, I am not the kind of guy you know who would sugarcoat someone’s bad deeds, so...of course, what you did as a child wasn’t right...but you weren’t completely wrong either!" Kylian’s tone sounded a little vexed this time as he blatantly sided with Zenith, which even fazed him a bit. "It’s wrong to target an innocent life, but that omega somewhat deserved it for breaking your Mom, to the extent it must’ve felt too burdensome for her to keep living.

"But I must say, your Dad’s the real shitty jerk here who destroyed both the women’s life, as well as fucked up with his only son’s mind! Before Kylian could finish his grumble, Zenith burst into a loud squeal of chuckle which even winced Kylian a little, as he hadn’t expected him to start laughing all of a sudden. Zenith looked truly delighted from the way he was sincerely smiling from his heart, which also provided Kylian a little relief that amidst surrounded by bitter memories here, he was able to make Zenith smile.

"Ahhh...Haha...I can’t believe this...You never fail to amuse me with your quirky tactics, babe. And that’s why...everyday you make me keep falling for you even harder than before." After having his fill of laughter, Zenith placed a soft kiss on Kylian’s knuckle, making him blush a little with his sudden confession.
