"Of course, my sweet child," Marita responded to Kylian’s question with a soft mumble, showering her beloved son with her sincere affection over the phone call, "I am going to live a long life with my little Kyle. We will go on world tours and will live happily ever after. I will be completely fine very soon, don’t worry about me so much. Okay?"

Even though Marita’s voice sounded very earnest over the call, strangely Kylian could feel a strong intuition as if she was forcing herself to pretend all fine to Kylian on the phone.

But thinking he might be worried over nothing since the turbulent events that happened in his life after joining the Elite Academy had turned him overly suspicious over every little thing.

"How’s your Academy life going there, Kyle? Did you make friends over there? Are you eating properly?" Her warm voice winced him a little since Kylian was momentarily lost in his own thoughts.

But hearing her, a radiant smile curved across his soft lips when he spoke, walking towards the big glass window of the giant dining hall, "I am completely fine here too, Mom. Yes, I am eating properly too...And..."

His words trailed off for a second when Kylian’s gaze fell on Zenith who seemed a little anxious while typing something on his phone. It was rare for him to see such a prominent frown on his relaxed smug face.

So, it made Kylian a little curious, pondering who might he be texting with that fretful face, as well as wondering if everything was alright with him.

"Kyle? Why did you fall silent, honey?"

Retrieving back to their conversation, Kylian exhaled a sigh holding a blushed hue on his cheeks as he scratched the nape of his neck, lowering his voice intentionally so that Zenith wouldn’t overhear them.

"Mom...I am making good friends here. But...there’s someone I want you to meet as well. He might seem a little odd to you initially, and he’s dazzlingly handsome too, but...now that I got to know him better, he’s like a big cute puppy who always asks for attention."

"Really? Haha..." Marita snorted as if she was very keen to meet that person already, before adding further, "I am glad Kyle, you found such a good friend over there. Are you close with him?"

’He’s more than a friend to me...I am still in awe of how this sly jerk dug his way into my heart so cleverly!’

Pondering in his head, his blushing smile grew a little prominent when Kylian explained, "Yes, I am close to him, Mom. We are good friends, and that’s why...I was thinking of bringing him home as...I want you to meet him as well."

"Of course, you don’t have to ask for my permission, sweetheart. I will be happier than anyone else to meet them, since it’s the first time you actually want to bring someone home with you, Kyle. I am really happy to see you taking a step ahead with your friends, and...if they’re from the Academy, I am certain they must be a nice person as well!"

Marita’s kind assurance made Kylian feel a sigh of relief, but soon after a thought struck his mind, fading the radiant smile on his face as he wondered gazing at Zenith who still had a frown on his brow ridge, contemplating something inside his mind.

’I wonder how Mom would react if I bring home a male lover....it’s natural she would never expect me to do that, right? Until now, I had always thought I was straight...but...my life completely turned upside down since the day I met Zenith. I don’t know if it’s fate or if I do not know any poetic words to describe the attraction I feel towards him, it’s true that I still don’t have the guts to tell her the truth about my transition.

’But just from a glance at Zenith, she will certainly realize that he’s a dominant Alpha. Would she be alright to let me be with an Alpha? What would I do if Mom somehow learned about Zenith’s twisted past? No way then she would let me be with him...right?’

"Kyle?"

"Huh? Y-Yes Mom," realizing he was lost in his ocean of thoughts once again, Marita’s call drifted him back to their conversation.

But this time Marita exhaled a big sigh when she asked him, "Kyle...no matter what decision you take ahead in life, remember I will be always there for you. I just want to see you happy, Kyle. And you must live your best life there at the Academy without worrying too much for me over here, okay? Can you promise me that?"

"Yes, Mom." The dark anxious thoughts which were taking over his mind until a moment ago magically disappeared the moment he heard her warm assurance again.

He could feel the bold assurance inside his heart that everything would be alright as long he had his mother by his side whom he loved the most. The smile returned back on his lips when his ocean eyes rolled at the blooming cherry blossom trees in the yard visible from the window, "Mom, I will take care of myself over here, so promise me you will be fine too, okay? Take your medicines timely, and do not overwork yourself too much, do you understand?"

"Yes, my sweet child." With a faint cough, her voice sounded a little tired by now when she let out a husky murmur, "Since you’ve also attained your new transition, make sure to look after yourself properly as well, okay? I...am feeling a little tired now, so I will get some rest. I will call you again, soon, honey...Granny Elma is right here with me, so don’t worry too much."

"Okay Mom, love you so much. I will come home soon..." Kylian responded in an affectionate tone while disconnecting the call.

Right after he turned the screen off, a quick thought came across his mind as he pondered, ’Didn’t Mom get easily tired just from a few words exchange? Is she really fine over there? I hope...she’s not keeping something away from me, right?’
