Possessed Wolfless: From Rejected to Vengeful Lycans' Queen-Chapter 61: Virgin Renar
Chapter 61: Virgin Renar
Lethia gasped for a moment. She wasn’t completely clueless about pheromone bonding—her previous OB-GYN had mentioned it once, especially nearing labor, meant to ease the delivery and deepen the emotional bond between the parents and the pup.
"I know that, but why does it have to be this soon? And why did it make me faint so easily? My previous doctor never said anything about wolfless fainting from pregnancy."
Doctor Rue furrowed her brows. "Because your baby’s carrying an enormous amount of energy that’s heating up your body. Look at this chart." She showed her the graph on her tablet.
"This spike here indicates your baby has an anomaly, a massive energy build-up that needs to be released. That release will affect your heat cycles, spike your pheromones, and trigger a strong sexual urge."
"It’s a rare case, one in a thousand. But our hospital successfully developed a medicine that suppresses the energy chemically, to help mothers who can’t—or won’t—go the natural way."
Doctor Rue leaned back in her chair, holding her tablet again. "And about your previous doctor, maybe the anomaly hadn’t shown up in the early weeks, or, judging by her credentials, she didn’t seem experienced enough to detect this kind of rare case."
Lethia raised a brow and stared at Doctor Rue. "You know her?"
"No. But I can access your previous medical records now that I’m your attending doctor."
"Ah..." Lethia sighed in disappointment. If Doctor Rue had known her former OB-GYN, she would’ve asked whether that woman could still sleep at night after pulling a damn sperm donor swap on her.
Lethia still shuddered at the thought, how the hell could a doctor commit malpractice like that, all for money?
Then again, someone had literally tried to kill her for God knows what reason.
"I’ll prescribe it for now, and we’ll meet again in two weeks. The fetus is developing rapidly, which means the delivery might come sooner than the usual six to seven months. At this rate, you could be giving birth in four months, max."
Lethia glanced at Rue’s fingers typing on her tablet and took a breath before asking, "What makes this baby’s energy that abnormal?"
A thin smile curled on Rue’s lips as she flicked her gaze toward Lethia.
"What science can prove is that the parents must have some sort of genetic anomaly too. But I’ve never seen a wolfless carry this kind of gift. So, it must be the father. He’s got to have some seriously dominant genes to create a baby like this."
"But the father is... human."
That confession made Rue freeze mid-type, staring at Lethia in disbelief. "Then he must be a superhuman."
"Or carrying some kind of hidden gift that made this pup so powerful. You need to talk to him again."
"He might be hiding something from you, because there’s no way a wolfless and an ordinary human could produce a pup this strong. Science doesn’t have an answer for that. Not in this world."
Lethia darted her gaze around in confusion, fidgeting with her thumbs. Doctor Rue, seeing her completely lost, added,
"You could ask someone close to the father about his true background. Sometimes, the truth we know isn’t the truth at all."
Lethia gritted her teeth, her jaw tightening. She quickly looked away, avoiding Doctor Rue’s eyes. If she could, she would go straight to Karmen and demand the full story—how the hell he ended up donating his sperm for her IVF, and how he could betray her like that by conspiring with Varrel and Lana.
But Teressa said he’d already run off and vanished.
Lethia frowned, letting out a frustrated sigh.
After Doctor Rue finished the examination and handed her the prescription, Lethia left the room on unsteady steps. Uncertainty wrapped around her chest.
But just before she stepped outside, she turned back with a hesitant look clouding her face.
"Uhm, if I need that pheromone bonding this soon... does that mean I can’t have sex with anyone except its father?"
The room fell dead silent. Lethia’s question left both the doctor and the nurse completely stunned.
Then, with a disbelieving chuckle, Doctor Rue muttered, "Medically? You can. But in most cases... by supernatural nature, the pup won’t like it. It might go into a rage and could be dangerous—for both of you."
A deep frown shadowed Lethia’s face as she walked out of the room.
The door shut behind her as she headed toward the pharmacy, walking down the corridor—
And then it hit.
A sharp, piercing ring exploded in her ears, loud enough to make her body curl forward. She grabbed the window railing for support.
"Argh..."
Lethia clutched her ears and squeezed her eyes shut. The ringing grew unbearable, splitting through her head like her nerves were being yanked taut, threatening to snap.
Her legs gave out slightly, and she slumped against the corridor wall, her back pressed to the cold surface beneath the wide window overlooking the cityscape.
Heart pounding, panic gripping her chest—
And then, suddenly—
Everything went silent.
She couldn’t hear a thing.
Nothing.
Only the quiet.
And then...
"Be careful, honey, let’s walk slow—"
"Yes, doc, we’ll get—"
"No, we don’t need another baby, so—"
"Yes, they are having an affair, you know—"
"I don’t think she can survi—"
Lethia heard every voice crystal clear, brutally raw—yet fragmented, like someone was flipping through TV channels at lightning speed. Each snippet came sharp and close, as if she were wearing earbuds jammed deep into her ears.
She shook her head, trying to silence the noise and it was pointless.
Her temples throbbed, pulsing with the overload.
Confused and disoriented, she slowly peeled her eyes open, needing to check if people were actually standing around her, talking so damn close.
But her eyes only found one, maybe two people, and they were at least twenty feet away.
’Then why the hell—’
Lethia’s mouth parted, but no sound came out. From that distance, she could read the nurse’s name letter by letter, stitched across her uniform.
She blinked and shook her head repeatedly in confusion.
She could even see the tiny mole on the nurse’s nose—clear as day.
’What the...’
Her grip tightened on the window railing as she heard the nurse whispering to the male doctor beside her in a sultry, seductive tone, that she was wearing red lingerie underneath her uniform.
It reeked of something forbidden that no one was meant to hear.
Lethia shook her head again, slapping lightly at her ears, desperate to shut it off. Then, as if someone switched the channel again, she heard something that made her jaw drop in utter disbelief.
"Do you think she has a special relationship with Renar?"
"Who knows... It’s hard to tell. That virgin Renar is hard to tame."
