OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 203 - No, Don’t Hurt Him
Chapter 203: Chapter 203 - No, Don’t Hurt Him
Alex was in a very bad mood when they arrived at the island. Thanks to Dario, Logan, and the three dons did not notice it until it was too late.
Alex’s concern was for Joanna to be safe, and he owed it to 3E to save his father as well. Taking down the bodyguards around the mansion was their easiest task among the lot, as they fired from the chopper.
But when they reached the cage where the prisoners were kept, a lot happened. There were more agents watching the cage than Alex expected so it was a battle before the rescue itself began.
Most of the victims were in very poor conditions and others traumatized.
"Don’t land. Just drop the ladders to make it easy for takeoff if," Alex ordered, and the pilots of the choppers obeyed.
Twenty people were able to be conveyed into the chopper as Alex informed Aiden. "You take care of the rest. I will go inside."
"No, I’m coming with you. It’s too dangerous," Aiden insisted, but Alex reminded him. "Don’t forget Dario is there. You stay here with the rest."
Aiden agreed as Alex entered the mansion, gunning down two agents at the entrance. The corridor was dark and deserted. He switched on the torch as his eyes darted around for Joanna.
If he could get her out of there, he wouldn’t be worried about anything else. "Joan, let me know where you are," he yelled, quickening his steps as his worry grew.
"Joa...." He didn’t finish mentioning his name when he heard Dario’s voice. "Boss, please drop the gun." The corridor lights turned on immediately.
"Not until I see Joan," Alex said as Dario came out of a room. There was no gun pointed at his head, and yet, he didn’t even try to fight off the people following him.
"Dario, what’s going on? Where is Joan?"
There were around nine agents aside from those on Dario’s team.
"She’s fine."
"And her sister?" Alex’s next question followed, earning a positive response. "She’s fine."
"Sister?" Logan appeared and asked. Ever since suspecting Dario and exposing him, he never knew Dario was working with anyone because Dario had confessed to being the only one.
The only reason Logan had not killed him was that he wanted to kill Dario together with Alex.
Dario was mute, but Alex answered. "I believe you already met Joanna’s half-sister. You claim to love her, and yet, you know nothing about her."
"Joanna’s half-sister?" Logan was at a loss, but Alex was running out of patience as he asked Dario again. "Where is she, Dario?"
"Here," Nancy answered as she came out with Joanna dressed in a maid uniform. Due to the makeup, Alex hardly recognized her until she drew closer.
"No wonder I couldn’t find her," Logan murmured to himself, thinking about the time he was trying to find Joan.
Even if he had seen her, he would not have recognized her.
Joanna embraced Alex tightly. "You came." Alex lowered his gun and kissed her on the lips. "Did they hurt you?" he asked as soon as she pulled away, his hand traveling to her belly.
Knowing his wife, he already saw the bump. "You are showing." Tears filled his eyes, but their sweet moment was rudely interrupted by Logan.
"So, you deceived me that you two were no longer together." Anger and pain registered in his eyes, as if he felt like he had been fooled.
Alex laughed. "You don’t learn, do you? What makes you think you can have my woman? Trust me, I can sign off King’s Multinational to you but not my wife."
Logan understood all of those tricks of Joanna’s vomiting whenever he tried to kiss her. They were all theatrics to keep him from touching her.
"You son of a bit..." Logan was saying, about to hit Alex when the latter blocked his hand and punched him in the face. "You went too far this time, Logan, and no one can save you."
"You think so?" Don Ace asked, lifting his shirt, and as soon as Alex saw what was there, he lost hope. "I guess you know what this means. We are all going to die here."
Alex saw the bomb planted on him and gave up.
"No one has to die," he said defeatedly. The most important thing was saving his wife, even if he didn’t make it out alive.
"I don’t see it that way," Don Russo said, burning with anger. "I guess that is the half-sister you were talking about." He pointed at Nancy. "They made a fool out of us and have to pay. We all die," he declared. Alex shook his head and tried to negotiate with them.
"Isn’t it me you want? You could have the King’s multinational and have control of Salvatore’s men too."
"So, you are admitting to be Salvatore?" Logan asked, Alex nodded.
"You can record it. I am Salvatore, and that means I’m more valuable to you than my wife. Let my people go and take me instead," he negotiated. Logan and the three dons went into discussion.
"There’s nothing to gain in death. We get to have the King’s multinational and his agency. It’s a better deal than Logan ever promised," Don Adam said. Even Logan agreed.
"Finally, you are ready to give up everything for love?" he asked, embittered that Alex and Joanna had fooled him. "Okay."
"Joan, you go, but I won’t leave him," Nancy said. Alex was touched as he stared at her. "You have to go. Aiden and the rest of the team are still taking care of the prisoners. Go with them."
Dario’s men were reluctant too. "Sir, we all die together. We won’t leave you alone with these vultures."
Alex was planning a way of escape, feeling that the fewer, the better. Joan embraced him tightly. "I don’t want to be away from you again."
Alex cupped her face in his palms. Logan was seething as Alex kissed Joanna again. "Please trust me and do as I say, okay?"
Joanna had a bad feeling about this, but remembering how Alex escaped from the fire when they all thought he was dead, she succumbed to his instruction.
"Okay, but we need you. Our baby needs you, okay?" She embraced him again, refusing to let go, but Nancy urged her on. "Let’s go. If we make it out on time, I can return to help him."
Alex was impressed by Nancy’s maturity because her words affected Joanna greatly, giving her the urgency to leave to safety for Nancy to return. But Alex wasn’t done after Joanna left.
"Dario, you and your men should go."
"Boss...." Dario was not in agreement as he was ready to give up his life, but Alex refused.
He already lost two men during the rescue mission and was not ready to lose more. "This is not up for discussion. Leave now," he yelled. But as Dario and his men were leaving, Alex noticed that Joanna was still lingering at the doorway.
About to tell her to go, Logan kicked Alex in the stomach. He winced from pain, letting out a groan.
"No, don’t hurt him," Joanna cried, about to return to his side, but Nancy pulled her away.
It was normal to take some pain during such confrontations, so Nancy was used to it. "Who is hungry?" Fiona’s voice sounded from where she was coming with a plate of food, and she saw the dons beating Alex.
"Oh, you are here," she said eerily. Logan informed her. "Won’t you go too?"
"Those who are supposed to go have already been marked by Dario, and they are already on their way. This bitch isn’t one of them," Alex groaned as Don Russo kicked him on the floor.
Due to the bomb, Alex did not want to do anything to affect the rescue and had to endure the pain. "Tie him up," Fiona said angrily. Logan agreed with her. "You are right. We should have done that a long time ago."
He dragged Alex to the large living room with the three dons and Fiona following, as they tied him up. Their agents followed as well, ready to take orders.
"You have to sign off all the things you mentioned," Logan reminded him. Alex forced a smile as he spat out blood. "Sure, but I want to know one thing. You are my brother, so why do you hate me so much? Outsiders should be the one doing this to me and not you."
Alex’s words did nothing to arouse Logan’s guilt as he smirked. "You were too favored, Alex, but my reason is still the same. You killed our father, so you have to die."
Alex smiled at the accusation. "Yes, I killed him because he was abusing mom, but if I had known how evil our mother was, I would have allowed father to kill her, and that way, you wouldn’t be hating me now."
"Mom was not evil," Logan argued, slapping Alex in the process. Alex shook his head. It was the only part he could move because his two hands were tied to the chair, just as his legs.
"You know nothing, Logan. You were too young. Ask Joan. Mom stabbed her after she rescued Dion from the fire. She was the woman I was searching for all these years because Dion made me promise to marry only her."
Logan was confused. "What are you talking about? What do you mean Joan rescued Dion? Isn’t Dion dead already?"
Alex smiled weakly, wondering if the truth would cause the slightest change in his only brother.
