My Werewolf System-Chapter 1263: When I’m With Her (Part 1)
The relationship between Midwak and Ylva had been explained in full, and the actions that were taken after, Kai could understand them well. He was a bit surprised by one thing, and that was the action of Lupus.
From what he knew, even what he did currently in Lupus City, he would have expected him to execute Midwak. But he let him go as an Omega Wolf. If he thought about what he would do in Lupus's position, Kai would certainly have executed Midwak—unless there was some benefit to keeping him alive.
The actions that had been taken, it felt more like something that Gary would do. Shaking his head of these thoughts, though, he needed to think more about the current situation and what he needed to do now.

"Okay, say I believe all of that. I believe your hatred is real for Lupus. Then what is your plan now? What have you done after meeting with Ylva, and what about Blake and Innu? What happened to the two of them?" Kai asked.
For a moment, Midwak looked away, his face scrunched up in disgust again. "It might sound like I'm making excuses right now… but half of the actions I took, I don't understand them myself. When I think back about what I did, I feel so stupid and want to attack myself for it.
"And I'm not talking about when I took on Lupus. I'm talking about now. I… thought Ylva was still the same. There was a real part of me that thought she was telling the truth… but I realised that although she's willing to work with me on all of this, and she might not have been lying about that… it isn't me that she wants."
——
Willingly travelling with Ylva, the two of them had reached Ruin City. It was a strange feeling for Midwak to be back in the city. He had been told to never set foot in the place again, and part of him was worried.
"I'm going to need you to play along," Ylva said as she wrapped Midwak up and then, with her claws, made quite a few nasty wounds on her body. "We need to make it look like I went out to capture you."
Right after, she practically dragged Midwak in with a special rope tied around him, into the castle and presented him to Lupus.
"What's this?" Lupus asked. "Why have you brought him back?"
Midwak was quite surprised that Lupus could even remember him, but being in his presence now—the anger was still baked behind his teeth, but he also knew there was no chance of him stopping him right here and now.
"This stray ran off, and I'm sure you can tell by now, it seems he has joined up with the Howlers. They had placed him in quite a high and important position. I'm sure there are so many things he can tell us about the group," Ylva answered.
Lupus looked at Midwak for a while before giving an answer. "I will let you do as you wish. I'm sure they have limited his speaking due to the pack rules. Do what you can and change him, but I will succeed with or without this information… don't go doing your own thing again."
Ylva let out a small bow, and then took Midwak with her. Their meeting appeared to be somewhat uneventful, and it was at that time that Midwak noticed something as well. Although he still harboured anger for Lupus, there was something else that was more important to him.
Eventually following Ylva, Midwak went to grab some food so his wounds could heal. After eating, the two were in what looked like her private chamber for a while.
"So, what's the big plan that you had, now that I'm inside with you? Are you really going to change me, to make me part of the pack again?" Midwak asked.
"I just said that for him to believe us," Ylva said. "You know the Luna is the only one that can convert a pack member into another, but that would be bad for us. If you are part of the pack, you can only challenge him once a month—you know the rules. And if you do, then there is a good chance that he will kick you out again or just execute you.
"The way you are now, part of another pack, it's for the best. It allows you to attack him whenever you want as well, without having to formally challenge him and giving him a chance."
"Would that do anything though?" Midwak said. He was clearly disappointed. This didn't sound like much of a plan at all. Her plan was for him to fight Lupus. He had already lost once.
"If I was to beat Lupus this way, it doesn't guarantee that I would become the Alpha though. We don't even know that's the case, especially since there is still an Alpha out there," Midwak commented. "If I was to take a guess, either three things would occur if an Alpha was killed by another pack leader:
"All of the Werewolves under him become Omega Werewolves, free to do as they wish—to continue life as is or join the other pack. All Werewolves immediately become part of the other pack, and lastly… if there's still a Luna present, she would then be the one in charge of the pack."
As soon as Midwak said those words, he looked at Ylva and could see the deep smile on her face.
"And if that was to happen and you were by my side, that wouldn't matter too much, right?" Ylva asked.
