Another hour or so passed in a flash. During which, Arthur didn't drop his guard at all, so he was always ready for anything to happen. It required a lot of mental fortitude to stay alert for long periods of time, but Arthur wasn't struggling to maintain that composure and focus.

However, that didn't stop Arthur from picking up some interesting details about the world he was in. For instance, the passage of time was perhaps the most peculiar part. His menu was telling him the time normally as it would.

But, for some reason, Arthur couldn't feel those minutes as precisely as he usually did. For example, when Arthur tried to count a minute with his mind, it felt a lot quicker than what a minute would usually take. Yet, when he tried to count to a minute again, it suddenly started feeling longer.

He tried that a few more times and although he was clearly counting right, he still didn't feel it. That brought him to believe that perhaps in The Void, the time was warped or at least his sense of time was warped, and it was making him feel the time slow down and then accelerate randomly.

'I don't know if that's affecting my menu clock either, but I hope it's not. I really don't want to get slapped with some harsh reality once I go out there.' He exhaled a small breath as he focused on the path ahead.

After walking into the vast lands of the Void, the shift in atmosphere had put everyone on the edge. They were walking into the unknown with nothing to cover them and nowhere to hide. The nature of the soil beneath their feet had also changed, becoming more sandy, almost like they were walking into a desert. That naturally made walking require more energy as their feet had to fight off the ever-growing layers of sand.

"Is this place some kind of desert, Germa?" Arthur asked.

"Yes, sir. From here till we reach our destination, we will be walking on these thick layers of sand." Germa replied.

'Great. As if we weren't already going to waste a lot of energy walking there.'

"Can you check if everyone is here, Germa?" Arthur turned to the man once more.

The latter nodded and clicked his tongue; immediately, the responses echoed in the vast space one by one.

"Everyone is here, sir," Germa spoke after a while.

'This ability is really convenient. We can easily determine if someone is lost in the darkness without having to look around.'

"Can you keep doing this every other time to make sure we didn't lose anyone?" Arthur asked.

"Understood."

Another hour or so later and the situation was still as calm as ever. All the monsters Arthur expected to see didn't appear. There was in fact nothing worth looking at in this empty world. Just vast lands of nothingness, befitting the name of this place.

It truly felt like Arthur was walking into a dark void, an endless expanse of monotonous darkness that keeps trying to suck his mind in and hook him into its morbid arms. The rhythm, the atmosphere, and especially the quiet nature of this place felt quite threatening.

With time, it tried to make Arthur relax more and let his guard down. The feeling reminded him of the Akora River's characteristics, except this one was more subtle. However, the fact that it was more subtle made it feel even more threatening to Arthur as it meant his mind would have a harder time realizing it.

'I need to stay awake. This place is trying to drown me in the nothingness of its nature.' Arthur mused as he shook his head and tried to keep his mind as sharp as ever.

"Hey, Germa, how is the condition of the group? Ask them if they need a break or if we need to stop so that for any reason." He said.

The man nodded and walked ahead, making everyone gather closer to hear him. After talking for a few seconds, he came back to Arthur.

"They said they can still move, but the kids need a small break."

"Hmm, then we will take a break. The trip is still very long, and we need to keep as much energy as possible for whatever is waiting for us ahead." Arthur replied.

As much as he was eager to make it there as soon as possible, Arthur wasn't dumb enough to ignore the fact that the group wasn't all fully fit people capable of travelling on foot for an entire day. There were kids to keep track of who would naturally get exhausted way quicker.

So, the group ended up setting camp on the spot and sat down. Some pulled out their flasks of water to drink, and others took some stored food and ate it.

The atmosphere around the group was very dark and gloomy, almost suffocating. The loss of their boss was a devastating blow to everyone there. They weren't complaining, but their faces spoke a thousand words.

They were griefing… hard. Seeing that, Arthur was naturally worried. With morals that low, the chances of survival are diminished considerably.

'If their will to live isn't as strong as ever, if not more… I don't know if we will be able to fight whatever comes our way.' Arthur thought to himself.

Even as a leader, Arthur's ability to truly control the situation was limited, and it could be severed by the smallest changes. So, at that moment, he decided to do something different. Something he hadn't tried yet.

Standing up, Arthur started walking to the front of the group, where he nudged Germa to stand up with him. The rest of the group noticed Arthur's weird behavior.

"Is everything good, sir?"

"I want you to translate the words I'm about to say to these people." The boy replied calmly. "Make sure they're as close as possible from what I said."

Germa was a little confused and for a good reason. This was the first time Arthur decided to actually speak to these people. There was clearly a plan in his head and he didn't know what it was. But, in the end, he couldn't refuse an order from their new leader.

Standing before the masses, the boy eyed them for a good few seconds before he spoke.

"Good evening, everyone." He said. "I don't think I introduced myself properly to you, which is something very wrong. I'm kind of new to this leader thing."

At the same time, Germa started translating the boy's words. That was when Arthur saw the curiosity in the people's faces. They were listening.

'This is a good start.'

"My name is Arthur… Arthur Silverborn. I'm 16 years old, and I know what you might think… So young, and yet he's now our leader? What the hell is that nonsense? hahaha. Ehem, but, I understand that, and I know it's worrying, the fact that Yonathan had tasked me with bringing you all out of this place. He had given me a very huge responsibility, and at first, I was doubtful if I could truly do this. However… I'm now aware that I will give my best to free you all. I'm not the strongest or the smartest, but I believe I have one thing that Yonathan saw in me… I never give up."

A//N: Thank you all for the gifts, golden tickets, and PS. Let's keep it up!
