Chapter 95: 95. Berial in the kingdom!

(Third Person POV)

Chaos engulfed the kingdom of Eldoria. The undead swarmed the streets, tearing through buildings and alleyways. Screams of civilians echoed through the city as they fled toward the Divine Church, where the Goddess herself was said to offer protection against such vile creatures.

Leading the resistance was none other than Liloth Alvado, standing at the vanguard with unwavering resolve. Clad in light armor, she moved like a blur, her crimson hair whipping through the air as she crushed the undead beneath her fists.

Beside her was the swordmaster Ivy Rambrandt who wielded her longsword, swinging it at the enemies. With each swing, it released waves of power that disintegrated anything in her path. Their combined might, together with the help of other hunters kept the tide of monsters at bay, but the undead were undefeatable. They rose back to life even after being crushed to pieces.

The C-rank hunters focused on evacuating the civilians. Yet, despite their efforts, they began to feel exhausted. This battle had been raging on for days now. But today seemed to be worse. The undead were no longer in the forests anymore. They were swarming into the kingdom.

Their mana reserves dwindled as the relentless wave of undead seemed unending.

Until—

"Sorry to keep you waiting, guys! Looks like the main event has arrived!"

A familiar voice rang out behind them. Turning back, Liloth’s eyes widened when she saw Aria Vael holding twin daggers in her hands that were crackling with lightning energy.

A sudden shower of glowing arrows rained from the sky, piercing through the hordes of undead.

"Must you always make such a dramatic entrance?" A cold voice followed.

From the shadows, Veyna Drisari stepped forward, her bow still glowing from the shot she had just released.

Aria smirked. "You know I’m always the star of the show." She turned to the other hunters, flashing a grin. "Fast, flashy, and absolutely fabulous—that’s me!" She winked.

Veyna sighed, unimpressed, watching as Aria vanished in a crackling flash of lightning. A heartbeat later, she reappeared among the undead, cutting them down ruthlessly. Their bones shattered, collapsing to the ground, and yet even as they fell, the skeletons began to reform.

"Oh no, you don’t." freёnovelkiss.com

A calm voice cut through the air.

Liloth turned to see Freya Lawson, the dark elf, stepping forward with an enormous ice greatsword resting on her shoulder. With a single swing, she struck the ground, sending a wave of frost surging across the battlefield. The undead froze where they stood, their bodies encased in ice, unable to rise again.

Liloth exhaled in relief. "You guys made it."

These three women strode forward, standing at her side. The battlefield fell silent, save for the hushed murmurs of the lower-ranked hunters.

"The S-rank hunters...!"

"They’re incredible!"

"I never thought I’d see them in action. They took down the undead in seconds!"

These were Eldoria’s elite warriors, who can only be called upon when a battle has spiraled beyond control.

Aria, the boisterous and talkative one, is a master of lightning-infused dagger combat.

Veyna, the third one who’s always wearing a black hooded cloak, and carrying a bow on her shoulders has archery abilities which are believed to be as deadly as her icy demeanor.

Then, there’s Freya, the dark elf, who is unmatched in the art of ice magic.

And with Liloth, the unshakable commander, they formed Eldoria’s strongest force—the four S-rank hunters.

"Where the hell did these corpses even come from?" Veyna asked, taking a seat atop a frozen skeleton.

"I see you’re sticking to business as usual. No casual greetings?" Liloth crossed her arms.

"Greetings are just a waste of time. Now that we’ve taken care of things here, what’s next, Commander?" Veyna asked.

Liloth exhaled. "It looks like these undead are being controlled by someone—likely a necromancer. We expected them to run out of mana by now, but it seems they have a massive reserve. This won’t stop until we find the one pulling the strings!"

Aria stepped forward, hands on her waist, her blonde hair tied into two side ponytails. She grinned. "Well, whoever they are, let’s just find them and beat the crap out of them!"

The dark elf, Freya, suddenly lifted her head, her long ears twitching. "I hear something—destruction. From the direction of the sound, I’d say it’s coming from the market district," she said calmly.

Liloth’s expression darkened. "Then let’s move! Ivy, and all the rest of the A-rank hunters, stay here until further notice! Guard the frozen corpses!" She commanded.

Meanwhile...

In the market district, Asher had sensed a demon nearby. He scanned his surroundings but saw nothing. But the miasma in the air was thickening.

Then, without warning, Rin spun around, leaped high, and delivered a thunderous punch—straight into thin air. The impact sent something flying, crashing through buildings.

A figure emerged from the rubble, its invisibility skill shattered.

Asher’s eyes widened. The demon had blazing horns—

An Infernal.

He and Tama rushed to stand beside Rin as the demon picked itself up, shaking off debris.

"So, it’s you, brat!" the demon sneered. "We meet again, huh?"

Asher furrowed his brows. "I don’t even know who the hell you are."

The demon’s eyes twitched. "I see. So, you didn’t even notice me back then? Why? Because you thought I was inferior?"

Asher scoffed. "Because you are inferior."

The demon let out a low, sinister chuckle. "Ah, humans... such a foolish species. You think so highly of yourselves, yet you meddle in forces beyond your understanding. Thanks to your ignorance, the infernal clan will rise again! And this time, we won’t just reclaim the demon realm—we’ll take the human world too. All that’s left now is to await our Lord’s return."

Flynn’s brow furrowed. "Your Lord? What are you talking about, demon?"

Berial smirked, his laughter dripping with mockery. "Oh, you’ll find out soon enough. But just know this—we appreciate your help."

Asher clenched his fists. "What help? What are you—"

Before he could finish, Berial muttered an incantation, and a dark shadow spread across the ground. Moments later, skeletal hands burst from deep within the shadow, clawing their way up as an army of the undead surrounded Asher and the others.

Before Asher could react, Rin thrust out her hand and a blazing salamander spirit that looked like a large eagle materialized in front of her. With a piercing screech, it swept through the undead, reducing them to nothing but ash.

Berial’s eyes widened in horror. "No! This power... It can’t be!" His gaze snapped to Rin. "You... You’re the princess! Right? The Master must hear about this—the princess is alive!"

In that instant, Berial conjured a dark portal beneath himself and vanished into it.

All the undead that were in the kingdom disappeared after him, one after the other.

That’s when the S-rank hunters arrived.

Liloth crossed her arms, eyeing Asher. "Demon boy?"

Asher turned to face her. "Ruthless guildmaster?"

He then glanced at the women with her. They all surely looked smoking hot!

He grinned, his Milf senses tingling.
