My Milf System-Chapter 158. The real boss
Chapter 158: 158. The real boss
The Merchant’s Guild was exactly how I’d imagined it: clean, smooth, and nothing like the chaotic, booze-soaked Hunters Guild. There weren’t many chairs or tables around—clearly not a place to lounge and down a few bottles. No, this was strictly for business-minded people.
I walked in and headed straight to the reception desk, where a beautiful woman sat surrounded by papers and documents.
"Good afternoon, ma’am," I greeted smoothly.
"Afternoon. How can we help you?" she asked, her voice grave.
"I’m here to register as a merchant."
She scowled, her brows knitting together. "A mere boy like you? Shouldn’t you be at school, learning how to hunt slimes?"
I growled internally. Men were seriously looked down upon around here. But I had to keep my composure.
"I just want to sell my stuff and make some cash. Is there a rule that says men can’t be merchants?"
She stared at me for a while, running her hand through her smooth, flowing blue hair.
"Let’s see your Hunter’s Guild ID first."
I pulled it out.
"C-rank, huh? Not bad," she muttered. "Are you even capable of doing math?"
I frowned. "Do I look like I can’t?"
"Honestly? Yeah. So let’s test you out."
She threw a couple of simple math questions at me, and I answered them all correctly. Satisfied, she gave me a paper to sign, processed it, and finally handed me a card almost identical to my Hunter ID—just slightly different.
I exhaled in relief. "Great! Now I need a place to set up my shop!"
"A place is expensive, boy. You’ll need—"
I pulled out all the money I had—about 12 gold coins. Her eyes widened slightly. That was a lot of money for someone my age and gender to be carrying.
"Well... that’ll get you at least an 10x10 plot. When you want to start building, you’ll need to—"
"I’m building now!" I cut her off.
Her eyes widened even more. "Say what?"
"I want to build now. Whatever needs to be done, let’s do it now! Come and show me where I’ll set up my shop!"
"Err..." was all she could say before shrugging and heading into the back rooms. A moment later, she returned with another man—a worker—who would show me the available land.
He led me to a spot a little ways from the busier areas but close enough to Kira’s sister’s stall. Once we arrived, I thanked him and got straight to work. Using geomancy, I built a fine-looking shop with a large hall in the front and a small office tucked away in the back.
People nearby gasped, whispering among themselves as they watched me create an entire shop from nothing.
I stepped inside, testing everything. The doors worked, the windows too. The only downside was that the doors were made from simple planks—geomancy could only shape earth and plants, not metals. For extra protection, I’d eventually have to reinforce it with burglar bars and sturdier materials. But that could wait. I already knew where to find the best bodyguards for my shop.
Once I was satisfied, I headed to Biju’s small stall, finding her sitting there with no customers, as usual.
"Hey," I greeted.
She yawned. "Asher... how are you?"
"Happy!" I grinned, flashing her my merchant ID.
"What? No way! You’ve already registered?" she jumped up, amazed.
"Not only that! I’ve built a full shop already."
"A full shop?"
I smiled. "Yep. Now, should I take all your stuff? We’re moving!"
Before she could even process what I was saying, I walked into her little stall and stuffed all her alcohol bottles, drinks, and fruits into my item box.
"Let’s go," I said, grabbing her hand since she was still frozen in shock.
We walked back to the shop together.
"Wow... this is bigger than I expected," she said, looking around in awe.
"Well, thanks to your father’s training, I built it using geomancy. It didn’t take long."
She nodded, glancing around. "That’s good."
I cleared my throat. "Speaking of your father... why didn’t he build you a better stall with geomancy? I’m sure he could’ve made something way nicer."
She looked down. "He never leaves the village... for personal reasons."
"Okay," I said, not pushing further. "Anyway, how’s the alcohol from those fruits coming along?"
Her face lit up. "It’s coming out nicely! Tomorrow, the wine should be ready. I’ll bring it here for you to taste. Those fruits you gave me are amazing!"
"Then why don’t we stock the shop with those fruits for now? I’ll bring a bunch, and you handle the marketing and sales. If people love them, we’ll sell a lot. Plus, you can use some to make more wine."
She nodded eagerly. "Good plan."
I unloaded the alcohol onto the shelves I had created using geomancy. Then, I quickly teleported to my realm’s forest, harvested a huge assortment of fruits, and brought them back for Biju to sell.
With that done, it was time to get back to my mission at Elvarion Kingdom. It was the weekend, after all. I just hoped most of the elven women were now pregnant so the Matriarch could give me my reward.
Activating my invisibility skill for the first time, I vanished completely. Then I chanted my flight spell and soared toward Elvarion Fortress, making the journey in just a few hours.
When I landed, deactivating my skills, the place wasn’t packed with women like usual. Most were gone. I only found Thalindra and a few others lingering around.
"Hey, girls!" I greeted.
"Don’t ’Hey’ us, human!" Thalindra snarled.
"Whatever. Where’s the Matriarch?" I asked, brushing off her hostility.
"She’s out with the others, paying respects to the spirits in the forest. It’s an elven ritual. You wouldn’t understand," one of the girls said.
I sighed. "Fine. I’ll just wait. By the way, did you all get pregnant?"
One of the girls beamed. "Yes, we—"
"Enough chit-chat!" Thalindra snapped.
Before I could react, she blasted me with a lightning strike, making me cry out in pain! I immediately activated my PP healing ability, knitting myself back together, but the electric buzz still crawled over my skin.
"The hell is your problem?!" I muttered through gritted teeth.
She grinned, pure malice shining in her eyes. "You thought I’d let you live? Let you become the father of my child? A mere human like you? You don’t deserve it—and you don’t deserve the necklace!"
She fired another lightning bolt at me—but I wasn’t the same weakling I’d been when I first came here.
I slammed my foot onto the ground, channeling ice affinity into my boots. Instantly, a narrow, shimmering trail of frost blossomed beneath me.
The second her lightning sparked forward, I dashed sideways—WHOOSH!
The frost under my feet gave me crazy momentum, letting me glide across the ground like a ghost. My movements had sharpened and way too fast for her.
Her blast missed, shattering a stone wall behind me.
"What the hell—?!" she hissed.
I pivoted sharply, skating past her again. Every turn left another slick streak of ice crisscrossing the ground around her, weaving a trap.
Skrrt—!
I ducked low, brushing one hand against the icy floor for balance, and zipped past her flank before she could aim.
She stumbled, trying to catch up—but every time she raised her hand, I was already gone, another streak of ice glittering in my wake.
"Keep up," I muttered under my breath, sliding effortlessly.
She turned—and slipped.
Just a tiny patch of ice under her boot. She hadn’t even noticed it. She lost her balance for a second—and that was all I needed.
I bent low, gathering speed, and shot upward like a bullet, ready to land on her with a devastating strike.
It was time to show these elves who was really boss around here.
