Chapter 129: 129. How Not to Introduce a Demon to the Human World

Rose undressed Anna slowly, piece by piece, until she was completely naked. Then she began the examination.

It took a while as we silently watched her inspect every inch of Anna’s body.

Finally, Rose let out a sigh. "It seems there are two curse marks on this girl. One is here." She brought Anna’s right hand up, showing us her palm. "And the other’s on her forehead."

I exhaled sharply. "Can you do something about them?"

"Sure... I’ve perfected my curse arts over the years. I can easily identify the one on her forehead—it’s the Mark of Malice. Its responsible for why Draegonoth tried to take over her body. It acts like a magnet, attracting all surrounding malice into the host. Draegonoth feeds on that negative energy, growing stronger from within. However—"

I narrowed my eyes. "However...?"

"The mark on her hand is a mystery. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I’m willing to bet that’s the one that bastard used to get inside her."

"So... does that mean we can’t remove Draegonoth from Anna?" I asked, lifting a brow.

"Yeah. But I can remove the Mark of Malice. That’ll keep Draegonoth suppressed. She should be able to live a normal life after that—if she stays away from hatred and anger. Those emotions would only feed the demon inside her."

I sighed. So there was no way to get Draegonoth out—for now, at least. "Alright. Get rid of the mark on her forehead."

As Rose got to work, I couldn’t help but glance down at Anna’s innocent, sleeping face. How could something so evil have taken hold of someone so pure? But at least, if the mark is removed, she might finally be able to live normally again. I’ll study all the ancient magic I can find... until I find a way to draw that demon out of her.

Minutes later, a glowing red magic circle formed on Anna’s forehead. Rose bit her finger and began drawing ancient runes with her blood, chanting incantations l couldn’t understand. A few seconds passed, and the magic circle shattered, then vanished completely.

Rose stood, smiling proudly. "I did it, hubby."

I smiled back. "Thanks a lot. Great job." I walked over and kissed her forehead, watching her blush.

"So she’s safe now?" I asked.

"She should wake up soon," Rose replied.

I turned to the others—mainly Sharon, Adrian, and the dark elf girl, Freya. "Listen. Whatever you’ve seen or heard here, keep it to yourselves. Don’t go around telling people Anna has a demon lord inside her. And Anna herself shouldn’t know either because that will cause problems and panic we aren’t ready for. Got it?"

Adrian shrugged. "Hey, I’ve seen my fair share of weird stuff. My lips are sealed."

Freya responded calmly, though with a sharp edge in her voice. "I’ll ignore this as long as it doesn’t threaten Eldoria’s peace. But if it does... I won’t hesitate to kill her."

"You can always count on me to have your back, brother dearest!" Sharon chirped, hugging me.

I smiled. "Thanks, everyone. Let’s head back to Eldoria."

"Wait, Master!" Tama called. "You’re forgetting our meat!"

"Oh... the elephant! You guys can’t finish that alone." I said.

"I could eat at least half of it myself!" Rose chimed in behind me.

I rolled my eyes. "That’s impossible. Why’d you hunt a whole elephant anyway? There were smaller animals."

"We were sick of fish and fruits. There’s nothing else in the house, too. No food, rice or even flour to make bread," Tama replied.

"You’re right," I sighed. "Sorry for being inconsiderate. Let’s get some proper food in Eldoria. We can sell the elephant to the Hunter’s Guild and use the money to stock up. Since its an animal they’ve never seen, they should pay us good."

Rose scowled. "What?! Sell my meat?!"

"Elephant meat’s tough. Plus, there are plenty of them around here. You can hunt more."

She crossed her arms with a pout. "Fine! But I’m going to the human world too!"

"I’m pretty sure your horns and tail will freak people out. So, no."

"Oh, these? How about this—" She chanted a spell, and both her horns and tail vanished.

My eyes widened. "What the hell... Your horns disappeared!"

She grinned. "They’re not gone. Just invisible."

"Can you make Rin’s horns and tail disappear too?"

She growled, clearly reluctant to help Rin—but she did it anyway. At least now, Rin wouldn’t have to wear that ridiculous rabbit hat Tama made her wear last time to hide her horns.

Once she finished, I turned to Adrian. "Can you open a Dimensional Door? I don’t want to use mine. It’d take us to the Divine Church."

Going there with a bunch of demons? Yeah, no thanks. Seraphina would definitely notice Rose since they’ve encountered before. And I don’t even know how she’d react.

"Okay, sure." Adrian responded, then opened the portal. I picked up Anna, and one by one, we stepped through—appearing in an alleyway of Eldoria’s market district.

"Wooooowwwww!!!!" Rose exclaimed the moment we arrived. "The human world is filled with fresh air! Look at all these pathetic humans strolling around! Woohoo! I can feel their energy surging through my veins!!"

Freya summoned her ice blade. "Tch... she’s about to cause chaos."

I tapped her shoulder. "Relax. I’ve got her under control."

Or so I thought.

Rose immediately darted off, eyes wide with excitement. I followed her, still carrying Anna, but she kept moving, sniffing around the food stalls. She dashed to one, grabbed some roasted pork, and began eating.

"Rose..." I called, rushing after her.

She left that stall, snatched some potato chips from another, and shoved a handful into her mouth. "Wow!!! Humans eat delicious food!! I want to eat everything here!!"

"ROSE!!!" I shouted again, louder this time. She stopped, looking my way. "You can’t just take things without paying!"

She paused, cheeks full, and raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"Adrian, hold Anna for me," I muttered, handing her over. I apologized to the vendors and paid for the food she took.

Then I dragged Rose aside. "Nothing is free here! This—" I showed her a coin "—is money! You give people one of these to get food!"

She finished chewing and gulped. "Okay... then give me lots of those things so I can get more food!"

I groaned. "You think its that simple? You have to work for them! And they’re not just ’things’—they’re called money! I’ll teach you about it later. But for now, don’t take anything, okay?"

She pouted, but nodded.

The others were watching her like she was some sort of lunatic. I took Anna back from Adrian, who then said his goodbyes—apparently he had errands to run in the market for his mother.

Freya, as a famous S-rank hunter, not wanting to be seen hanging around with weirdos like Rose, vanished shortly after.

Now I was left with Tama, Rin, Sharon, and of course, the chaos magnet that was Rose.

"Sharon, would you take them home? I want to take Anna to her mother."

Sharon shrugged. "Guess if you insist... I’ll just take the chaotic demons into our lovely, peaceful home!"

She clearly didn’t want taking them home. I could see from her expression. Ignoring that, l turned to the others.

"please... Rin, Tama—keep an eye on Rose. Make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid. I’m counting on you."

"Oh please, hubby," Rose said, smacking me playfully on the head while grinning. "I’m not a child, you know."

"Just go," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

And yep... I was already starting to regret bringing her here.
