My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 92
Chapter 92: Chapter 92
Raymond didn’t answer right away, so Valentina gently held his hand, rubbing it softly with her thumb.
"Raymond," Valentina continued, her voice softer than before.
"I know it hurts you a lot when someone disrespects me. But you have already shown him that he can’t do it again. He understands now. Please forgive him, just for me."
At that moment Raymond slowly turned his head to look at Valentina. Her calm, gentle eyes made him feel less angry. He took a deep breath, and his tight shoulders relaxed a bit. Valentina saw the change and squeezed his hand softly.
"Come, Raymond," she said quietly, gently pulling his hand. "Let’s leave all this behind."
She held Raymond’s hand tighter, leading him slowly away from the manager, trying to make his mind off what just happened.
Again Valentina slowly reached out and gently held Raymond’s hand. Her fingers softly wrapped around his, giving him comfort. Raymond felt the warmth of her touch, and it slowly made his anger a bit less.
"Raymond, please calm down," Valentina said softly again, looking into his eyes with care.
"I know you’re angry, and I understand why. But look at him; the manager is really sorry. Can’t you forgive him just this one time?"
Again Raymond didn’t answer right away. He looked at Valentina quietly, feeling surprised. Valentina had never begged him or even tried to stay close to him in this manner. It touched his heart deeply.
He couldn’t say no to her now, seeing how gentle and caring she was. Valentina’s kindness was not new to Raymond. He knew very well that Valentina had a soft heart towards people. She always felt pity quickly and didn’t like seeing others hurt or sad. It had seen it many times before. Raymond knew this clearly.
Valentina squeezed his hand softly again, pulling him a little bit away from the manager. "Raymond, let’s just let it go. He learned his lesson. I promise you, he won’t do it again."
At that moment in time Raymond breathed deeply, feeling calmer now. He looked at the manager again, his voice clear and strong.
"Listen carefully," Raymond said firmly, "I’m letting this go because my wife asked me to. But let this be clear: my wife has a soft mind towards people, that doesn’t mean in include me, you dare not try this nonsense again."
At that moment, Liam’s jaw tightened sharply. His hands formed tight fists by his sides, but he forced himself to remain quiet. Challenging Raymond right now would mean fighting over Valentina. And if he did that, Chloe would surely misunderstand and become even angrier.
He took a deep breath, trying to hide his frustration, and turned to face everyone with a forced smile.
"Actually," Liam began, trying to sound casual, "I planned to buy this car anyway. I wanted to surprise my future wife." He turned and gently pointed towards Chloe. "I liked the car as soon as I saw it. So, it’s not because of anything else—not because of what Raymond might be thinking."
Liam paused, making sure his words were clear and believable. "I just wanted to surprise my fiancée, Chloe, with something special. That’s all. Nothing more."
Then Liam looked straight at Raymond, adding firmly, "And just so you know, Raymond, I don’t care what you’re thinking about me and Valentina. There’s nothing going on between us. I have a beautiful fiancée now, and that’s all that matters to me."
When Chloe heard Liam’s words, her shoulders relaxed just a bit. She wanted to believe him, but something deep inside still held doubt. Even her mother, standing quietly by her side, was still not convinced.
Chloe stood quietly, her eyes fixed on Liam. She knew something was wrong. Liam’s words sounded calm and clear, but deep inside her heart, something still felt off. Even her mother shifted nervously, unsure of what to believe.
However Raymond didn’t say anything more. He looked at Liam coldly, his voice firm and sharp. "I don’t want to see this rubbish again," Raymond said clearly. Then, without another glance, he walked away. The manager quickly bowed his head and followed behind Raymond, eager to get the remaining papers signed and finish everything.
When Raymond and Valentina finally left, Maria turned slowly towards Liam. Her face showed confusion as she took a gentle step forward.
"Liam," Maria said softly, her tone friendly but full of questions, "why would you even do such a thing? If you truly wanted to buy the car, why didn’t you just challenge Raymond right then and there?"
Liam hesitated, his expression tight.
"Mother, it’s not that simple," he answered quietly. "I was planning to get it later. The manager knew this."
Maria shook her head slightly, not convinced. "Then why didn’t the manager clearly say the car was already sold? It would have made everything clear and easy. Instead, he made it look like you were Secretly competing with Raymond. Who even tells the manager to hold a car like that without clearly telling all the salespeople about his plans? That doesn’t make sense."
Liam opened his mouth to reply, but Maria continued, gently pressing her point.
"Listen, Liam. If you really want to show Chloe your love, just buy her another car. How about that pink one over there?" She turned and pointed towards the bright pink car displayed near them. Her voice softened warmly as she looked back at Liam.
"Pink is Chloe’s favourite colour."
"He should just buy the car now," Maria said firmly, folding her arms as she looked straight at Liam.
At that moment Liam stared at her quietly, pressing his lips together tightly. Maria was seriously getting on his nerves now. He took a slow breath, trying to keep his temper from showing.
"Mother," he said quietly, trying hard not to sound annoyed, "don’t worry about it. I’m not buying any other car today. This is the one I truly wanted. Not any other."
He glanced briefly at the expensive car Raymond had just bought, feeling irritated. "Besides, how would it look if Valentina is riding around in a car that’s more expensive than my future wife? It doesn’t make sense."
He turned to Chloe with a softer expression, gently touching her arm. "Don’t worry, Chloe. I’ll come back another day and get you an even better car—one that’s much nicer than this one."
