My Baby Daddy Isn't Human-Chapter 206: Private Room
Raelynn stepped out of the car, her eyes immediately drawn to the towering glass structure in front of her. The sleek, modern design of the building gleamed under the daylight, its countless windows reflecting the city skyline. A familiar pang of nostalgia settled in her chest as she stared up at it.
The last time she had been here, everything had been different.
She could still remember walking into this very building, clutching her bag tightly, heart pounding in her chest. Back then, she had been terrified, unsure of what awaited her as she came to tell Elion that she was pregnant with his child. That moment had felt like the beginning of the unknown—a life-changing step that had led her to where she stood now.
"Are you just going to stand there reminiscing all day?" Elion’s voice pulled her from her thoughts, and she turned to see him watching her with a small smirk.
She let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. "It just feels surreal, that’s all. The last time I was here, I was panicking about telling you I was pregnant."
Elion’s smirk softened into something fonder. "And now look how far we’ve come."
Raelynn smiled, nodding. "Yeah. Now, I can even stay in your office without sneaking in."
Elion let out an amused breath as they walked toward the entrance. But just as she was about to follow him inside, she hesitated.
"Wait, is it okay for us to be seen walking in together like this?" she asked, lowering her voice. "Wouldn’t that cause unnecessary talk?"
Raelynn bit the inside of her cheek as she waited for Elion’s response.
It was a valid concern, wasn’t it?
She wasn’t being paranoid—she was just being realistic.
From the very beginning, Elion had never made it seem like he wanted people to know about her. He never openly acknowledged their connection, never introduced her properly to anyone in his world. And while she hadn’t exactly pressed him about it before, she wasn’t blind.
Elion glanced around, then back at her. "It’s fine. All the employees are already in their departments. No one’s lingering in the lobby at this time. We just need to walk quickly."
Raelynn gave a small nod and followed him inside.
As soon as they stepped through the doors, she felt another wave of nostalgia wash over her. The elegant, spacious lobby looked the same as before, with its polished marble floors, high ceilings, and warm lighting that gave the place an air of luxury. She couldn’t help but chuckle to herself as she glanced around.
Elion noticed. "I know what you’re thinking," he said, a teasing glint in his eyes. "I also see it. Your shadow right there, blocking my path."
She laughed softly, shaking her head. "It really does feel like yesterday."
Elion smirked. "Except now, you won’t have to argue with my assistant just to see me."
They continued toward the elevator, stepping inside just as the doors slid open. Raelynn leaned against the wall, watching the numbers climb.
"Look how far we’ve come," she murmured again.
Elion glanced at her, something unreadable flickering in his eyes. "Yeah."
The elevator dinged, signaling their arrival. As soon as they stepped out into the executive floor, they were met with the sight of Kade standing near his desk, arms crossed, looking unimpressed.
"There you are," Kade said. "But what’s with the outfit? We have a meeting in less than ten minutes."
Kade’s gaze swept over Elion from head to toe, his brow arching in clear disapproval.
Dressed in casual clothes instead of his usual suit, Elion looked completely out of place on the executive floor.
Elion waved him off. "Relax. I’ll change."
Kade sighed, rubbing his temples. "You better. The last thing we need is the board questioning why their CEO looks like he just rolled out of bed."
Elion didn’t bother responding to that, instead stepping past Kade toward the door leading to his private room in his office. Kade, about to follow, finally seemed to notice Raelynn standing nearby.
"Oh, hey," he greeted, his tone far less stressed than before. "Didn’t see you there."
Raelynn smiled. "Hey, Kade. It’s been a while."
Kade grinned. "It has. You sure you want to be here? This place is nothing but stress." freёnovelkiss.com
She chuckled. "I think I’ll survive."
Elion disappeared into his private room, leaving the door slightly ajar. Raelynn, curious, peeked inside.
To her surprise, it wasn’t just a closet—it was a full bedroom. There was a neatly made bed, a nightstand, and even a small seating area. She hadn’t expected that.
Elion, who was in the middle of unbuttoning his shirt, glanced at her and smirked. "Curious?"
Raelynn quickly averted her gaze, clearing her throat. "Sorry, I didn’t mean to peek."
Elion chuckled as he shrugged off his shirt. "It’s fine. I had this built in case I needed to stay overnight."
Raelynn nodded, even though she wasn’t sure he could see her. It made sense. He was a CEO, after all. Late nights at the office probably weren’t uncommon for him.
Kade, already used to this routine, stepped out of the room first. "Come on, Boss. Meeting."
A few moments later, Elion reappeared, now dressed in a crisp suit that fit him perfectly. He adjusted the cuffs of his jacket before glancing at Raelynn.
"Stay here in my office," he told her. "If you want to rest, you can use the room."
Raelynn gave a small nod. "Alright. Good luck with your meeting."
Elion smirked. "I don’t need luck. But thanks."
With that, he and Kade left, the door clicking shut behind them.
Raelynn exhaled, glancing around the office now that she was alone. It was spacious, elegant, and clearly designed for someone of power. The massive desk at the far end of the room had a pristine, organized setup. A bookshelf lined the wall, filled with neatly arranged books and files. The large windows provided a breathtaking view of the city below.
She sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"Well," she murmured to herself. "What do I do now?"
She was alone in Elion’s office, with no idea how to pass the time.
