Chapter 69: Gu Bao Auction House

Coming to her senses, Bai Hanyun muttered. "Looks like Feng Xiyan sent me more antiques again."

After drying her hair, Bai Hanyun opened the boxes one by one. When she saw the calligraphy, paintings, and jade ornaments, her eyes lit up.

"Oh my god! Feng Xiyan is so generous. These jade ornaments are beautiful."

Filled with curiosity, Bai Hanyun carefully unrolled the paintings and calligraphy. The more she looked, the more excited she became.

"Heaven, these paintings are stunning!"

’Even someone without art knowledge like me could appreciate their beauty. How much more valuable would they be in the eyes of an expert?’

With that thought, Bai Hanyun selected two paintings and one calligraphy piece, storing the rest carefully in a corner of her bedroom.

She placed the chosen items into a wooden box along with other antiques she planned to bring to the Gu Bao Auction House tomorrow.

"Master Yu should be able to appraise these. I hope they fetch a good price tomorrow."

After closing the box, Bai Hanyun brought the antique mirror to the backyard. She then tied it to the rope connected to the tree and then threw it into the river.

The next second, the ancient mirror began to absorb the river water and sent it to the other side, slowly filling the lake near the Feng Army’s barracks.

Returning to her bedroom, Bai Hanyun set an alarm on her phone and went to bed early.

Early the next morning, Bai Hanyun quickly washed up, had breakfast, and left for the airport with Hua Yuyu. Since her flight to Shang Du City was the first one that day, there weren’t many people around when they arrived at the airport.

Sitting in a premium business class seat, Bai Hanyun said to Hua Yuyu, "Brother Hua, I’m going to get some rest. Please wake me up before we land."

"Alright."

Putting on her eye mask, Bai Hanyun leaned back and got some more sleep.

Three hours later, Hua Yuyu gently patted her arm and said, "Miss Bai, please wake up. We have landed."

Hearing this, Bai Hanyun pulled off the eye mask and looked around. Seeing that only the two of them were left, she yawned and stood up.

With Hua Yuyu carrying the wooden box for her, Bai Hanyun carried her own backpack. As they walked out of the arrival gate, she saw Fu Rongchen waiting for them in the distance.

Noticing her, Fu Rongchen waved and called out, "Miss Bai."

Bai Hanyun nodded in greeting and approached him. "Young Master Fu."

Fu Rongchen glanced at the wooden box in Hua Yuyu’s hands for a second, and then said, "Miss Bai, my maternal grandfather has been waiting for you at the auction house. He asked me to drive you there."

Realizing that Yu Tianshuo had sent his grandson as her driver, Bai Hanyun couldn’t help but think, ’It seems that Master Yu is truly interested in the antiques from the Yu Empire. Maybe I can get a good price for them later.’

Although she felt excited, Bai Hanyun remained calm on the surface. She nodded at Fu Rongchen and said, "Then I will trouble you, Young Master Fu."

Fu Rongchen smiled slightly and replied, "This way, please."

Two hours later, Fu Rongchen parked his car in front of the main entrance of the Gu Bao Antique Store. After handing his car key to the valet, he led Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu inside.

Standing in front of a private room on the second floor, Fu Rongchen opened the door and said, "Miss Bai, my maternal grandfather is waiting for you inside. I still have other matters to attend to, so I won’t be joining you."

Bai Hanyun nodded. "Thank you, Young Master Fu."

After the door closed behind them, Hua Yuyu scanned the room. Sensing a sharp aura from the other side, his eyes flickered slightly.

He stepped closer to Bai Hanyun and whispered, "Miss Bai, there is a group of experts hiding in the shadows. Please be careful."

Bai Hanyun raised her eyebrows slightly at the warning.

She was somewhat surprised. With Yu Tianshuo’s status, it was normal for him to have bodyguards.. However, she was curious as to why they were hiding.

Unable to figure it out, Bai Hanyun replied calmly in a low voice, "Understood."

With that, the two of them walked toward the lounge area of the private room.

When Yu Tianshuo saw her, his eyes lit up. "Miss Bai, you are here," he said with a smile.

Bai Hanyun nodded and greeted him politely, "Master Yu."

Seeing Li Qin was there as well, she also greeted him, "Master Li."

Li Qin smiled and gestured for her to sit in front of them. "Please have a seat, Miss Bai."

After she sat down, Yu Tianshuo gestured to two middle-aged men sitting on the other couch and said, "Miss Bai, these two are the director of the national museum and the general manager of the Gu Bao Auction House."

"It’s an honor to meet you both," Bai Hanyun greeted them politely.

"The honor is mine," said both of them.

After the introductions, Yu Tianshuo looked at the wooden box Hua Yuyu was carrying and asked, "Is this the antique you wanted me to appraise?"

Bai Hanyun nodded, then signaled for Hua Yuyu to place the box on the low table.

Opening the box, she took out two paintings and a calligraphy piece. Then, she brought out a smaller box containing six pieces of jewelry and another box containing a red wedding dress.

Once everything was displayed, she said, "Master Yu, I wonder if these antiques are eligible for auction at the Gu Bao Auction House?"

The director of the national museum looked over the items with a flicker of doubt in his eyes. He studied Bai Hanyun silently, deep in thought.

While he was thinking, Yu Tianshuo and Li Qin had already unrolled the paintings. Upon seeing the exquisite artwork, both of them drew in sharp breaths.
