Chapter 94 - 94: Moving in Together (2)

Each of them chose their respective bedrooms and began unpacking. For Mikael, the process was quick since he didn't have much to unpack. The girls, on the other hand, had much fuller luggage, so their unpacking took longer.

"I'm going to be training," Mikael announced simply before heading into the training room.

He planned to continue refining his integration of the 'gravity' spell into the Wind-Explosive Style.

Mikael hadn't trained for long before a knock on the door interrupted him.

"Enter," he said, his tone calm as he turned toward the door.

Amelia stepped in, her composed demeanor as steady as ever. "I've prepared lunch. Do you want to eat with us?"

'Oh right, they need to eat often. Kinda forgot about that...' Mikael thought before replying, "Sure. I'm curious to see what you've made."

Amelia gave a small smile and nodded. "Good. Follow me."

They walked to the kitchen, where the rich aroma of freshly cooked food greeted them. Mikael's gaze fell on the counter, where three plates were neatly arranged, each laden with an American-style breakfast.

Golden hash browns, crispy bacon strips, fluffy scrambled eggs, and a vibrant assortment of fresh fruits filled the plates.

"This certainly looks delicious," Mikael exclaimed as he examined the meal she had prepared.

Amelia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, a hint of pride in her expression. "I hope so. I'm not a master chef, but I can manage meals like this."

The three of them took their plates and sat at the dining table, enjoying a warm and hearty meal together. The breakfast passed in lighthearted banter, laughter, and genuine appreciation for the food.

Once they had finished, Lyra cast a cleaning spell on her plate, instantly clearing away the remnants of food and leaving it spotless.

"That's... really useful," Amelia murmured, feeling a twinge of envy at not being able to do the same and needing to handle such tasks manually.

Mikael cast a cleaning spell on his own plate and then on Amelia's as well. She gave him a grateful nod.

Once everything was tidied up, Amelia turned to Mikael. "I'd like to test our new training room. Want to come with me?"

"That was my plan. I want to keep working on a technique I'm trying to upgrade."

Amelia raised an inquisitive eyebrow. "And what technique is that?"

Mikael smirked playfully. "You'll see when I'm done."

Amelia shrugged, choosing to contain her curiosity, and glanced at Lyra. "What about you?"

Lyra thought for a moment before replying, "I'm not really interested in training. But I could bring a book and read while you two train. It would certainly be more enjoyable than reading alone."

Satisfied with the plan, the trio headed toward the training room. Mikael led the way, followed by Amelia. As they walked, Amelia glanced back at Lyra.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" she asked.

Amelia's concern stemmed from what she saw behind her: Lyra was floating a large, plush chair in the air using a telekinetic spell she had cast moments earlier.

When they asked about her reasoning, Lyra simply explained, "When I read, I prefer to be comfortable."

Her logic was sound, so they agreed, though Amelia doubted whether the oversized chair would fit through the doorway. Fortunately, with a bit of maneuvering, they managed to get it into the training room.

After this small interlude, the three entered the training room and began their respective activities. Lyra positioned her chair near one of the walls and settled into it comfortably. She retrieved a book from her storage ring and opened it to her bookmarked page. Just before delving into her reading, she cast a brief glance at Amelia.

Amelia stood with her bow in hand, an arrow already nocked. She closed one eye, carefully aimed, and released the arrow. It flew through the air at high speed toward a red target spot on the wall. Mid-flight, the arrow suddenly split into eleven separate arrows, which struck various points on the wall with soft impact sounds. Moments later, the arrows glowed and merged back into a single arrow before falling harmlessly to the ground.

Despite the barrage of projectiles, the wall remained entirely undamaged—no scratches, no dents. The arrows simply bounced off.

Amelia paid no mind and prepared another shot. This time, she infused the arrow with a significant amount of aura, enough to give it a glowing blue hue. Her fingers released, and the arrow flew even faster than before, striking the target with a loud impact. But again, the result was the same: the arrow fell harmlessly to the ground, and the wall stood unscathed.

She alternated between practicing her Dividing Shot and Penetrating Shot, training herself to be better with each attempt. Lyra observed her for a while, finding the scene captivating, before shifting her attention to Mikael.

Mikael's training was entirely different from Amelia's methodical practice. He darted around the room at high speed, creating small explosions on his body to propel himself. Around him, wind mana swirled visibly, enhancing the speed and fluidity of his movements. This was his Wind-Explosive Style, a technique he had created and was working to perfect.

Lyra noticed that, contrary to usual, where he executed this technique flawlessly, Mikael occasionally struggled to maintain control this time. There were moments when he propelled himself too far, crashing into the walls at high speed. While his movements were often too fast for her eyes to track, the loud thuds of his collisions were impossible to ignore.

The first time it happened, Lyra felt a flash of worry. But when she saw Mikael quickly get back on his feet and continue training without hesitation, she relaxed and continued to observe him.

After some time, Lyra lowered her gaze to her book and began reading. Occasionally, she glanced up to watch Mikael and Amelia, her attention split between the two. She considered Mikael her boyfriend—though their relationship hadn't been explicitly defined—and Amelia her sister, someone she had grown fond of quickly. The sight of the two training together filled her with a quiet sense of contentment as she turned back to her book.

Mikael ran a hand through his hair as he lay on his bed. Night had fallen, and it was time to sleep, but his mind was too preoccupied. He stared at the ceiling, reflecting on the day. 'Eating and sleeping...' He let out a small chuckle as the thought crossed his mind.

'I've honestly kind of forgotten about these "normal" things. As my stats increased, the need for basic necessities gradually diminished. Back during the Willowbrook Town Defense, I ate multiple times a day and even slept regularly. It felt strange; I wasn't used to it anymore.'

He frowned slightly as his thoughts deepened. 'Now that I'm living with the girls, I'll need to eat multiple times a day and sleep as well. It feels like such a waste of time—time I could be using to train instead.' His lips curved downward in frustration before his expression softened, and he reconsidered.

'Maybe thinking of it as "wasting time" isn't right. I could see it as "enjoying life" or something like that. Honestly, not eating is fine, but every now and then, taking the time to enjoy a good meal isn't so bad...'

With that thought, Mikael decided to stop overthinking it and simply take life as it came. Deep down, even if he inwardly grumbled about losing precious training time, he couldn't deny that he appreciated spending time with the girls.

He closed his eyes, ready to let sleep take over. But just as he was about to drift off, another thought struck him, and his eyes snapped open. "Why is it that I always have tons of ideas right before I sleep?" he muttered to himself.

Sitting up, he ran a hand through his hair again. "I didn't think about this before, but now that I'm living with the girls, it's going to be complicated to meet with Kiara..." He sighed and inwardly mused, 'Maybe this is a sign I should tell them about the Records and everything else. But how do I even start that conversation?'

His lips curled into a wry smile as he imagined himself saying, 'Oh, by the way, the multiverse is real, and I'm technically an alien who didn't exist in this world until a week before the Academy. I'm currently working for a higher entity called the Akashic Records. Oh, and let's not forget, Kiara, the girl I'm also in a relationship with, is an AI and a yandere completely obsessed with me...'

The absurdity of the thought made him chuckle softly, but his amusement quickly faded. 'Yeah, that's definitely not the best way to explain it. But seriously, how am I supposed to bring this up?'

He rested his chin on his hand, his expression growing more serious. 'And then there's the matter of telling them that I'll eventually leave this world to travel to others—and that I want them to come with me. How do I even approach that?'

A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he let himself fall back onto the bed. "How am I supposed to handle all of this?" he murmured, staring up at the ceiling.

Closing his eyes, he focused his thoughts, determined to find clarity on the issue. Time passed as he contemplated various possibilities, each scenario playing out in his mind. Finally, he opened his eyes, a glint of determination shining in them. "This could work... Let's hope it goes well tomorrow. It definitely won't be a short conversation," he murmured to himself. With that, he surrendered to sleep, fully aware that the next day would bring its own set of unique challenges.

"H-how could you work with them!?"

Mikael heard the outburst as he approached the main living room, where Amelia and Lyra were comfortably lounging on the couch, wrapped in blankets while watching a series on the large TV. The show seemed to engross them, their relaxed postures contrasting with the sudden tension on the screen.

As he stepped closer, he said, "Girls, can you pause this for a moment? There's a story I recently came across that I think you'd find interesting to hear." His tone was serious, immediately grabbing their attention.

Amelia reached for the remote on the small table in front of her and paused the show. Turning to face him, her expression reflected concern at his unusual tone. "If you want, I'm all ears..."

Lyra made a soft sound of agreement, which brought a faint smile to Mikael's lips. As he passed by, he noticed her lying on her back, the blanket covering nearly her entire body except for her head. Her beautiful purple eyes peeked out from under the cozy fabric, focused on him.

He couldn't resist running his hand gently through her silky hair as he moved past her, earning a quiet, contented hum from her. Taking a seat nearby, his eyes settled on the two girls.

Amelia sat upright, her posture attentive and serious, while Lyra remained lying under her blanket, her head turned to face him. The contrast between their positions struck him for a moment before he sighed, collecting his thoughts and preparing himself to speak.
